Verse, maybe getting it... or maybe just being curious on her own accord, let the rest of the group move on and talk about animals and riding things... while she tried to fall back a little, undetected... to check out some of those buildings that Vaya had pointed out to her. Maybe she could look inside without anyone knowing?

She can notice that inside people are looking out but they look scared and then move away from the windows. One even closes their windows before a Trooper spoke, "Ma'am you look lost shouldn't you be with the Elder and the Commander, I can escort you back that way."

"Oh," she looked at him, a little puzzled at how she'd gotten to be detected.

"No thank you."

[Jenna Karath]

"Well ma'am, it can be intense and riding is a bit tricky, you don't sit on them the harness is designed that you are nearly prone so the wings are less restricted. Takes a great deal of practice, the Chaldi start when young, but we didn't have that luxury," he said moving over to one of the creatures and petting it's feathered flank.

It crowed loudly and then he coaxed it to show the harness and demonstrate how to mount it. He continued, "Once in place then it is a simple matter of using commands, typically if on the forest floor they need a little room to run forward and then launch, up high we do what's call a dead man's fall. Either way, you need a strong stomach to ride a swoopwing."

He dismounted and added, "They are predators so always a little danger but these have been bred for speed and loyalty, according to the Chaldi."

Listening Jenna leaned in a bit, brushing her hair back over her left ear. There was a slight startle, at the birds loud crow, but she'd experienced enough torment the past while that such startles weren't so uncommon anymore. Giving herself the most unrestricted sight she watched, in some levels of awe, as the commander demonstrated how to mount the bird.

When he dismounted she smiled, "Loyal to the Aznuri, of course, but you had near none of the time they did to learn and befriend them. Yet you mount and dismount this one as if you've known each other for years, that's," well, she didn't quite finish the thought so far as drift off into another.

Sinn circled closer to the magnificent avians. She'd seen wild ones, but never harnessed ones like these. They really were magnificent. "What's it take to earn a chance to ride one? And how long does it take to learn?" Her question could have been directed at anyone there; she still felt off-balance in the Chaldi village, fumbling around for something solid to hold on to.

That blasted Imperial officer seemed awfully comfortable around the beasts. How long had he and his men been out here? She'd been assuming no more than a few days--a couple of weeks, at most--because surely if the troopers had already allied with the Chaldi three weeks ago, they could have got whatever they wanted from the forest without having to extort and burn the Rygor exiles. But maybe she needed to revise her estimate.

[13th Sister]

He is about to respond when he pulls out a holo-communictaor and said, “Inquisitor, this is Commander Poule, I read you loud and clear, ma’am.”

The 13th Sister responded, “Commander Poule is the Aznuri envoy nearby?”

“Yes, ma’am, one moment, I should let you know we were currently giving a tour to some guests and this line is not secure, for operational security reasons I advise we relocate to a secure location before proceeding,” the Commander responded.

“Guests?” she asked.

“Yes ma’am,” he responded.

"Anthropologists," Vaya cut in smoothly. "Hoping to learn from the Chaldi."

Like a cold wash was just thrown over her Jenna snapped into a thought just after Vaya cut in, "Perhaps, Commander, we can talk more of these magnificent birds when you have more time? Certainly we can find ourselves another guide while you tend to matters," she didn't quite think so much as spoke, figuring that shortening the length of time they had to interact and talk about them the better.

"I'll find my own way," she said, nodding to the trooper as she wandered off in the opposite direction of where she thought the rest were.

After all, she was on a mission to find hidden stuff, signs, clues, info, data, etc.

Two troopers follow, leaving two behind to guard the building. One said, "Ma'am we need you to follow us to Sister Tiralia."

"Uhm... don't you guys know it's creepy to follow a girl like that?"

The other trooper said, "Just follow us."

Well, she probably couldn't push her luck any further. Or could she?

"...okay." She started to follow them, at as casual a pace as she could manage. "Sooo have you guys been stationed here long? What's with those people back there? Why are they under guard?"

"You know just keeping folks on lockdown after Tiralia took over, not really sure of the facts primitives be primitive am I right? Nothing extreme firepower could not fix," one trooper replied with a chuckle.

"Hey shut your pie hole," the other stated. He looked at Verse and said, "I won't ask again ma'am, and it's a long way down."

“Just some scientists ma’am, I will get them on their way,” he responded.

The Inquisitor agreed, “Make it quick, Commander. I will be waiting.”

As her image faded he continued, “Sorry to cancel this short but this takes precedence. Sister Tiralia I will escort them to the ship and we can continue the briefing when I get back.”

“You have my apologies, troopers on me,” he starts escorting them back to their ship.

She probably didn't react the way they thought she would; she didn't even flinch. In fact it seemingly took her a moment to even notice anything had happened, before she looked at the scorch mark with wide eyes.

"Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise," she said, deadpan, before throwing her hands up. "Okay, okay, honest mistake I guess. Lead the way."

They lead Verse back to the others.

"Commander," she said, as they were being escorted back, "do you return to the city often or does your.. unit?" she said, questioningly, military terms are so not her forte, "does your unit rotate out often?"

As her image faded he continued, “Sorry to cancel this short but this takes precedence. Sister Tiralia I will escort them to the ship and we can continue the briefing when I get back.”

"Of course, we wouldn't want to inconvenience you," said Vaya, carefully watching the two of them. Who's in charge when lucky 13 calls?
