"Then we crush them, for the Good of the Empire," he responded calmly.

[Dove Gray]

She nodded silently. Crushing was a bit easier when you had mystical powers at your call.

"I will see about finding this Pantoran in the morning, and setting up a meeting with the girl. Are you going to be following me then too?" she asked with a raised eyebrow, trying to gauge what his plans were.

[The Inquisitor]

“I have another task for you, Dove, Dove Gray,” he said cupping her chin with his metallic hand.

“Admiral Yulani has made a request for you specifically. Go to her in the morning aboard the Dictator, do as she requests and report back to me with everything you learn.”

[Dove Gray]

"The... admiral?" her jaw dropped slightly in surprise. "... Do you know what for?"

[The Inquisitor]

"I don't," he said calmly.

[Dove Gray]

She took a deep breath to steel her nerves. The Admiral was a dangerous lady in a completely different way.

"I see... of course, it will be done, my lord." Dove did wonder why he was interested in what the Admiral was up to.

There wasn't much she could do about avoiding that particular job, but she preferred not to think about it too much in this moment. Besides, he had said he needed her companionship, and... well, sometimes that was the part of the job she didn't mind too much.

Strange how she didn't mind just providing companionship to a lonely madman.

Wordlessly, Dove moved over to the piano that had been sitting there untouched, easily sliding into the seat infront of it as she opened the lid. "You know... there's still so much I don't know about you, despite all the time together these past weeks," she said, as her fingers found the keys and began playing a calm melody.

[The Inquisitor]

"Are you sure you wish to know what is behind the mask?" he asked.

[Dove Gray]

"You make it sound very dangerous, yet you've already shown me your face," she looked over her shoulder at him, continuing to play.

"Maybe I could try to run it through as many databases as possible, and maybe I'd find a potential match. But I'd rather hear your side of the story - of how someone like you became an Inquisitor, one of the most poweful men in the Empire."

[The Inquisitor]

"Tell me something about yourself, first," he asked.

[Dove Gray]

"Oh?" she smirked, "a trade for a trade? I suppose that's fair... Let's see... hmmm..."

For a moment, there was only the sound of the piano. "You already know now I can play the piano now, so that's no surprise. And I suppose the trade should be... equal in importance."

Another interlude of piano, as she considered what to share. "I'm not like most people. Well, I mean, in a different way. Most people are born, or for some species hatched from an egg - not me. In a way, I'm more similar to the Clones from Kamino, in that I was made and not born," Dove looked up at him for a moment, but it wasn't like she was going to see a facial expression. "Arkanian science, cloning technology... I'm what the Arkanians call an Off-shoot. A genetically engineered being."

"So I don't really have family, or had a childhood like normal folks do. It's something that should probably be weird to me, but it's not, I guess... though I kind of always wondered what it's like to have a family. It is a kind of strange loneliness, especially when you see the family bonds that others share."

[The Inquisitor]

"Familial bonds? Simply another weakness," he said in response.

[Dove Gray]

"Perhaps so, but it does get lonely." There was a melancholy feel to her tone and expression.

"Well, that's me. I'm waiting for yours, my Lord."

[The Inquisitor]

“I never new my family, raised at the Academy since I was young, I was considered a hero by some during the Clone Wars,” he said bitterly.

“Oraka betrayed me, he was like a father to me and when I need him most he was not there, and I learned the most valuable lesson of all. You can only depend on yourself, not false teachings, or others, just yourself… but from that revelation I have grown strong. The final lesson is his ending,” he said calmly.

He moved towards Dove and said, “If it helps, I have little musical talent.”

[Dove Gray]

Her lips pressed together as she listened. "Not many people know much about music except listening. I find it soothing myself; to listen and to play. I'd be happy to teach you, if you like."

The music slowly stopped to its natural end and she turned to face him. "Were you a hero, then? Or do you feel the title is not justified?"

[The Inquisitor]

"I never claimed to be, but someone else did, so maybe just to them," he said with a gesture of his hand.

[Dove Gray]

"You must've done something extraordinary to be called a hero," Dove smiled as she tried to guess. "You saved a lot of lives at a cost to yourself, or faced down a great enemy?"

[The Inquisitor]

He is quiet and then said, "What was that song you were playing?"

[Dove Gray]

"Just something I've been working on. I said I was a musician, after all," she winked. "I think it's done... maybe record some guitar for hacking it up. But its got melody and lyrics."

[The Inquisitor]

"It sounds fine as is," he said focusing his gaze on the instrument. "You are welcome to play it whenever you feel. I should retire."

[Dove Gray]

"Thank you." It was certainly fancier than her keyboard. Not many people had a proper piano in their home.

"Of course. It's late, after all, but... mind if I play just a little bit more? I can show myself out when I'm done," she asked looking up at him from her seat.

[The Inquisitor]

"Play as long as you like, it's soothing," he said.

"You can stay if you like."

[Dove Gray]

"Stay the night?" she was surprised. "... I'd like that. Very much."

Walking back to her apartment sucked at this time of night anyway.
