A Hunt Like Many Before [EM4]

[Sacha Ordo]

She paused, and she sat up a little straighter. "It didn't occur to me what that sounded like in a non-armoring context," she admitted.

[Daunt]

"It's fine, Sacha. You probably meant cooking?" He smirked as he rose to pick his armour up. "I have no reasons to disbelieve you either way."

[Sacha Ordo]

"I meant armoring. I was just..." She paused. "Distracted for a moment."

[Daunt]

"Then I should suit up quickly if being distracted this way troubles you." He reached out to her with his arm, probably expecting the plates being handed over.

[Sacha Ordo]

She handed the armor over slowly. "I wouldn't say it troubles me... I don't feel troubled at all. Maybe embarrassed?" The pitch of her voice rose steadily as she spoke. It wasn't quite the same as watching someone turn red, but it was similar.

[Daunt]

"Embarrassed? Like you want something but are not used to talking about it or acting on it?" He took the plates but didn't walk away, just looked at her, standing. "Whatever's on your mind, it is probably nothing to be too embarrassed about."

[Sacha Ordo]

"Something like that," she agreed, looking away and shifting a little as she got up. It was important to face things head on. "It's... You're good looking."

[Daunt]

"Thank you. I can't know if you are under all this armour, but I can at least tell that I've enjoyed your personality and company during out outings." He reciprocated the honesty, looking into her dark visor as if he saw the eyes through it. "And I've been intrigued by what cannot be seen."

[Sacha Ordo]

"I can't really judge well for myself," she admitted. "I've enjoyed your company. I admire your strength and skill. You do... remind me of someone, and that makes me a little nervous, but not too strongly."

"I'm not... sure what to do about all of that."

[Daunt]

He thought about her words while putting the plates away for now, and finally smirked a bit.

"You can do nothing about it. Or something. If it's something, try me. What's the worst that can happen?"

[Sacha Ordo]

"... Let me think about it. We're meeting tomorrow after all, right?" She replied with a tinge of playfulness.

[Daunt]

"As usual." He confirmed. "Unless one of us dies or something comparably immobilising." Since it looked to be like the end of the strange moment, he quickly adjusted and grabbed back the armour to put on.

[Sacha Ordo]

She nodded and rose, resting a lingering hand on his arm to do so. As if testing the waters of more prolonged contact.

[Daunt]

It halted him. Without a word, he cupped her hand on his shoulder with his.

[Sacha Ordo]

She squeezed his arm gently before letting go. There was no expression, but there was a little more spring in her step now.

[Daunt]

He didn't break the silence, just resumed suiting up. Once he was done, he turned toward her, gave her visor another long glance, and nodded. "I'll be delivering the deer to town."

[Sacha Ordo]

She hauled up the game. "I'll at least help get it to your speeder."

[Daunt]

Not that he needed that kind of help, but he wouldn't discourage her. "One could make a living out of this. Prices of meat in Rygor or something."

[Sacha Ordo]

"Yeah... It'd probably be pretty peaceful," she mused.

[Daunt]

"And peaceful is a good thing?" He teased a bit as they were hauling the deer.

[Sacha Ordo]

"For some people," she replied with a chuckle. "I don't really care about peaceful or exciting. I can take either. I always just wanted to help my people. Keep our body and souls as Mandalorians alive."

[Daunt]

"I vaguely recall there used to be some of your people who embraced pacifism but it didn't go well for them. So you're of a more warlike sort?"

[Sacha Ordo]

"I grew up in Death Watch," she stated simply. "I don't agree with everything we've done, but the pacifists didn't understand some fundamental aspects of who we are."

[Daunt]

He stopped and looked at her attentively. "A Nite Owl then."

[Sacha Ordo]

She nodded, confirming his assessment. "A Nite Owl. You're familiar with us, then."
