Prison buddies (D4 LE Senators place aka mia/doves)

It had been some time since the prison breakout, but what happened during it still remained on Qareme's mind. Although her intent was to go see the Senator sooner, but she had become quite busy. The earthquakes today and assisting people reminded her though, and as the evening drew on she had managed to get a message to the Senator to say she would be visiting.

So she came to the place, surprised at its closeness to where Petrus lived. She paused at the door, unsure whether the woman would have anyone to help her get to it, but decided to knock anyway.

There was some delay but the door finally opened and she said, "Hello, Qareme, yes?"

There was a nod before the large Zabrak lowered her head.

"I am Qareme. It is good to see you again, my apology that it has taken this long to come and visit."

She leaned on her cane and offered her entry and said, "No need, I needed time to recover."

"I have been resting for the majority of the time, between my leg and the ordeal, that seemed the best remedy. Can I offer you... water?"

Qareme entered, allowing the woman to close the door before speaking.

"Water would be lovely, thank you. Allow me to bring the drinks though, you are still recovering. How is the leg?"

She waited for the woman to sit down again if she was going to, looking over the apartment before moving to get the drinks.

She was thankful and found a seat and said, “It will be fine in time, if anything the emotional scars will take longer to heal. I have trouble sleeping mostly or being touched, but I will manage. How are you handling it? Your internment was short but it seemed eventful.”

"My training allowed me to remain calm within such situations. My attempt to break out was perhaps a symptom of youthful curiousity that my former Master would have both applauded and been embarrassed over, as what I intended was not what I executed."

Qareme prepared the drinks, bringing it over to the woman.

"It also caused you and others considerable distress, which I can only apologize for. Thankfully everyone is free of that place, and it can never be used to imprison others again. For the emotional scars, have you tried meditation? I found it helps with recovery"

"I have not tried meditation, Master Jedi but perhaps it might be helpful. As for your escape, they would have found some other reason to torture us, do not blame yourself, I know I don't blame you," she said.

"Thank you" Qareme lowered her head in thanks "I am glad. Now that you are free, do you know how long you were held for?"

“Total I think it was about two and a half years, not all of it here on Bankor, they moved me from time to time… I was looking into matters concerning Order 66 and apparently some people didn’t like what I found,” she said honestly.

This was a Jedi, no reason to be coy now.

Even the ever-emotionless Qareme reacted to that, leaning in closer.

"Forgive me for prying Senator, and if it is something you wish to not discuss I will not question further, but what did you learn?"

"That it was in the works for some time, that whoever backed the Separatists did so to motivate us against the Republic... the whole war was a distraction," she said sadly.

"Our ideals were simply tools to get us to fight to strengthen a hidden benefactor."

"I see" Qareme nodded, looking thoughtful. "I believe I know who may have done it, as I am sure you do also. Emperor Palpatine."

"I suspected as much," she added sadly.

"I believe he must have somehow orchestrated or had someone orchestrate the Clone Wars, he benefited greatly from the fallout of the situation. It could be mere coincidence but too much happened to keep him in power."

"And now he is in a stronger seat of power, with few to oppose him."

Qareme frowned.

"What will you do now you are free?"

"The same thing I did before, fight for the people and the truth," she said without hesitation.

There was a smile.

"I am glad your time in those cells has not dampened your spirit Senator. As you have already seen, there is a movement against the Imperial on Bankor. While there are many eager souls, I am not so certain about leader types, so anything you can help them with would be welcome. I do not know if other worlds are doing the same or if it is just us, but Bankor wishes to light the beacon of hope across the galaxy."

"Before I was taken away there was talk among Senators and world leaders of resistance but I am still trying to regain my contacts," she said thoughtfully.

"I would imagine most thought you had died? They will be surprised and wary to hear from you again" Qareme nodded thoughtfully "it is also risky with that ship above to try anything. To hear that other worlds are also considering resistance is good, Bankor and the galaxy can stand together. I will help as best I can, just let me know what I can do."

"I am tired of war, I would like a peaceful resolution but I feel that may not be possible," she offered.

[Qareme Torth]

"I also wish for peace. However I know there will be more fighting before peace is reached. The Empire is willing to use heavy tactics to force its vision upon the galaxy. I foresee fighting in the near future for myself, while many are still hunting the remaining Jedi. The woman who controlled the prison still lives for example, and I am certain she will come again for me" Qareme looked over at the window then back at the Senator.

"I believe you should be safe from her though."

"I think being safe is relative and I have no intention of just sitting by," she said with resolve.

[Qareme Torth]

"Then you will likely gain her notice again."

Qareme didn't want to scare the woman, just stating facts.

"However, I can see your resolve, which is good. I am sure you can find out where the Resistance are gathering on Bankor, but if not I can point you in their direction. I will also look out for you, so if you are in danger I will be there."

[Dapper Dog]

"Thank you, Master Jedi," she said with sincerity.
