Night at the Nerf [Day 0 - EN]
Re: Night at the Nerf [Day 0 - EN]
Vandal got down to business, one of her thugs put down a holo-viewer and it brought up an image of a control tower for communications, a thin spindly thing with antenna sticking off of it. She gestured toward it and said, “The Empire has been setting up these comm towers all across the city, it’s for secure communications and data transfers, I want access to that. I have a team of slicers preparing data spikes to inject into these towers which should give us access and you all if you have the stones and are actually worth the creds are going to deliver them.”
“Usually these are well guarded, but I have it on good authority there is going to be a crackdown of the slums in the early hours of the morning, that will be the window to insert the spikes when the Imps are focused elsewhere. Might even get lucky and find one unattended, if not, well do whatever you need to.”
“Insert the data spike and it will do the rest, if you have to kill some storm troopers well that’s on you, I wouldn’t recommend it, but you do you. I don’t care how it gets done as long as it gets done, complete the job and you get paid and I might have more work for you. Clear enough?” she finished.
OOC: If you missed this just assume you heard it or something she won't be repeating this.

He watches the holo-viewer about the mission. He is glad it isn't anything too bad or involves blasting women or kids.

Re: Night at the Nerf [Day 0 - EN]
Vaya had been playing it cool at the bar, watching who filed in to answer Vandil’s call. It made her feel savvy and cool, and was totally different from fortifying her courage (Blessings upon you, Vuxia) and feeling nervous about where the job offer would fall in her personal mental spectrum of the depth of crime.
She’d mostly played around in the shallow end of the pool, things that there were only laws against because of dumb reasons, or breaking and taking stuff from people she could easily convince herself to dislike. As she further stalled by making one-sided small talk with the goon standing guard at the VIP lounge, her ears picked up a slightly louder, Gungan-accented voice, then the distinctive hum of a vibroknife, and shortly after the sound of a large, fleshy object being dragged across the floor. Well, kriff.
She screwed her courage to the sticking point, ended her conversation with the doorbeing with “Time for swimming lessons!” (to his visible confusion), and stepped in in time to witness discussions of xenophagy and hear the details of the score. She took her eyes from the smeared blood trail and fixed them on Vandil’s face.
“Sound’s good, ma’am,” she said cheerfully, standing just enough in from the door to lessen the temptation to just leave. “I’m sure we can work on the details.” And no-one will get eaten.

“There’s one pot of credits for all of us,” Vaya cut in, visions of being cut out of the score by metal-covered gunbeings flashing before her eyes, “so I’d say the lady is asking us to all work together.” She looked back at Vandil. “Is that right? All of us try to spike as many towers as we can, but at least one?”

Vaya grinned rather than gulp when the extremely intimidating Twi’lek complimented her, and raised her half-full glass in a toast and took a drink to drown any of the half-baked clever rejoinders that were probably all bad ideas (thanks, I like your head tails, thanks, that’s not the only thing I can use, thanks, I knew the doctorate would be worth it some day…)
She swallowed, and said instead “Do we have a map of where they all are?”

Re: Night at the Nerf [Day 0 - EN]
Vandil nodded and had one of her thugs put down a holo-map for them to study of the city and all the known towers, there were several though she directed them towards the slums and the neighboring areas as that would be the best places to do so without heavy resistance. In that area alone there were about a dozen or so, so more than enough for her needs.Vaya Mer'darrow wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 6:39 pmVaya grinned rather than gulp when the extremely intimidating Twi’lek complimented her, and raised her half-full glass in a toast and took a drink to drown any of the half-baked clever rejoinders that were probably all bad ideas (thanks, I like your head tails, thanks, that’s not the only thing I can use, thanks, I knew the doctorate would be worth it some day…)

Venator looks at the holo-map and then takes out his datapad to quickly mark down the locations.
Re: Night at the Nerf [Day 0 - EN]
Djanik sat through the speeches from the Zabrak and the Twi-lek in silence, sipping his drink pensively.
Well, it wasn't like they wanted him to handle the hack himself. Even he could put in a data spike.
Leaning forward he looked to see if there were any in hard to reach locations that would be lightly guarded by virtue of being, well, hard to reach.
Otherwise, he'd improvise.
"It seems straightforward enough - do we have any idea what the normal security detail is?"

Typically a squad of five to six storm troopers and a transport vehicle, busier locations they might have a light walker for backup and crowd control, take that for what you will.

Re: Night at the Nerf [Day 0 - EN]
Vaya leaned over the holomap, brow furrowing and lips pursing in a scholarly expression, antennapalps wiggling up from under her hair absentmindedly. Looking at maps and building plans was much more in her comfort zone, and she couldn’t give a Squib’s ass if the Hutts could steal data from Imperials, so despite the meeting opening with corpse disposal she was feeling increasingly okay with what was happening. Maybe that was that toast she’d just drunk, though. Light walker was not in her comfort zone.
“Whatever it is, we’ll want to have eyes on a couple of likely prospects, and see how things are playing out on the night of.” She poked at the holo, panning, zooming, rotating. “Depending on how they’re built, or what they’re built in to, we might be able to find an entrance from an adjacent roof. I guess we’ll see who gets drawn off and take it from there, which means picking a staging point and some possible plans...” She stood back up and continued. “If we keep killing and eating the stormtroopers as a plan B, what can you all do?” she continued, glancing around the room, taking in the less heavily armed members of the group and only looking at the Zabrak long enough to hopefully thread the needle between looking scared and looking threatening.

Jurdak was smiling and making light conversation with anyone nearby but when Vandil started speaking his expression became focused and serious. He listened to her proposal and nodded, shouldn't be too hard. He then listened to the questions asked by others and jotted down the locations of the towers they needed to hit.
"Smart play seems to be sticking to the more isolated ones and doing as little violence as possible. Itd be best if the imps never knew they were hit at all." He said in a direct and analytical tone, he wasnt smart but he was a clever boy on his good days.

His head tilted slightly as time went on.

As the planning was being done, Djanik leaned back in his seat, contemplating the crowd.
"We may want a division of labor. If some folks can distract the remaining guards, that will leave an opening for discreet installation of the spikes."
Drumming his fingers on the side of his mug, he added, "Ideally we want to go where the vehicles aren't - many picket vehicles will have been trained not to move far off station so their sensors can still cover the post." No explanation of how he knew that.
"If we can mimic the sweep getting a little rowdy, the guards may feel inclined to help pacify things without realizing their position is threatened. If our distraction is too aggressive, that'll tip them off that something strange is happening."

Re: Night at the Nerf [Day 0 - EN]
Daunt twitched when he thought his name had been mentioned in the context of smart ideas, it took him half a second to get the intended meaning and redirect his thoughts. She otherwise sat silently, listening, shifting bloodied fingers thoughtfully until the Balosar drew his attention by both good remarks and provocative humour - he found the idea of feasting on Stormtroopers amusing. He sensed they might get along, so he noodled back, baring things ever so slightly to support his quickly growing mystique of voracity.
"No group should go without at least two competent combatants. Nothing ever goes this smooth so that violence can be fully avoided. Three teams look more likely than four, so unless some towers are in close proximity or the time frame is big enough, the bare minimum is achievable only with no room for failure. I'd like Dak and the Balosar on mine."
He glanced at the Twi'lek through the holomap. He couldn't read distances there as well as he wished. "Any chance for more precise intel closer to the mission?"

Jabber nods. "It sounds like we can work in groups of two of three. That would give enough redundancy so that even if one doesn't work, there should be enough of the others to take care of business. Plus, if we are working at the same time, it means that the response gets scattered and distracted, preventing them from focusing."Djanik wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 8:42 pmAs the planning was being done, Djanik leaned back in his seat, contemplating the crowd.

"I don't like the sound of violence on a job I'm working," Jenna stated, to herself, as she looked around the crowd once more. Leaning forward she began to sift through the information presented, what she cared about at least, looking for a tower that suited her needs and committing its location to memory.
Good entry points, escape routes, and potential problems. Making a plan around, and for, each of these and checking it off mentally if it fits her parameters. With glances around the group she sought a thought to anyone she'd want to take on this job but quickly glanced back down the the holo-projections.
