A third time, with firepower, and friends (EE, D5)

Djanik had put out word to those aquaintances he knew, those with some combat ability, and those with some technical ability.

There was a facility in the wound, which needed to be dealt with, one way or another.

As he settled his ship down, he wondered if this would be his last trip out here, and if any of this effort would be worthwhile.

[Verse Aura]

"Uhm, what exactly are we doing here?" Verse asked as she got up out of her seat after landing.

"The message you left with that guy who came to my apartment was a little vague."

[Djanik]

Djanik glanced at Verse, and then said, "I found an old Republic research lab down here. Problem was, it was in an emergency lockdown."

Gathering his pack, he added, "I wasn't comfortable risking letting anything in or out without some backup - I'm hoping we can get back in to the system and get more information. There might be something here we can use against the Empire, but we just need to be careful. Some labs worked with some volatile equipment."

[Jabber]

There is a banging in the cargo hold and the door clangs open. A tiny Jawa tumbles out, then straightens himself, dusting off his robes.

"Oh good, we're here." Jabber studies the area. "Out of the way. Looks like a good place to out a base"

[Bowze Coppa]

A tall nemoidian came out right after the jawa with the need to stretch his limbs

''Finally'' he shook himself

[Djanik]

Djanik nodded to the three.

"You'll want a breath mask, just to be safe - and try not to set anything off - we want to try and be careful. There may be more active defenses online, further inside."

Making his way out of the ship, he cracked his neck, before starting his way into the cave, leading whoever chose to come.

[Jabber]

"Got an extra? I didn't get the chance to pick one up. As for defenses, I hope you don't mind my answer is to shoot them..."

[Djanik]

"I'd rather we not get to shooting, but if your life is in danger, then yes."

Djanik dug around in his crash kit, producing a breath mask. "See if you can get that to fit."

Glancing at the cave, he retrieved his scanner remote, pulling up the old map and sending it zooming into the cavern to make sure the route was still clear to the first bulkhead, and that maybe, this time, he wouldn't have to end up there, riding on his butt the whole way down.

[Verse Aura]

"A breath mask you say," she said, eyes going one way then the other.

"Got an uh.. extra extra?"

[Bowze Coppa]

Bowze hoped his thermal cloak would hide his heat signature and put on his mask and gloves.

He also his electrobinoc to peer ahead until the jedi spoke up

''I thought Djanik told us to bring one?''

[Jabber]

Jabber pulls on the rebreather and thermal cloak as he follows Djanik.

[Djanik]

Djanik led the way to the first bulkhead, this time going slow and watching his step very carefully. He hoped that the spot welding had kept things nice and sealed up.

Well, Verse was confident enough to risk it without one; she'd failed to follow the invitation instructions to the letter, but she wasn't goint to be deterred by not having a fancy schmansy rebreather. It was *just* a precaution anyway, wasn't it? Wasn't like they were going deep diving in the ocean or anything. Chemical and/or viral agents left over from secret experiments? Pfft.

She followed along without a mask.

[Dapper Dog]

The first bulk head is a twisted hulk of melted metal.

[Bowze Coppa]

''Hum...is that normal?'' he asked, looking at the bulkhead

[Djanik]

"No."

Djanik stared at it in silence for a moment. Was the blast from the outside? Or the Inside.

Either way, he had to continue onward.

"I'd uh... be careful. Maybe get your weapons ready."

Sending the recon droid ahead with a gesture, he stepped over the molten metal, stone faced.

[Dapper Dog]

The remote droid finds the next bulkhead in a similar state.

[Djanik]

"Bloody hell."

How much of the facility had changed?

As he made his way onward, he cast his gaze around, trying to see if anything was as he had left it - intact or operational.

[Dapper Dog]

Looks basically the same besides computer systems being smashed and doors blown open and corpses of gray skinned carnivore like humanoids in ragged clothing.

[Bowze Coppa]

''What happened here?'' Bowze asked in revultion

[Jabber]

Djanik nodded to himself.

"Well, at least this is proof that releasing that lockdown would have been really stupid."

With a sigh, he began picking his way around, looking for a working computer terminal, or anything else of value which might make this entire thing worthwhile.

The remote zoomed up and down the halls, beeping happily.

It was always happy to help.

Outside, there was the sound of ship thrusters approaching, followed by the distinct sound of switching over to landing repulsors.

[Bowze Coppa]

"I can try to se if there is any terminal left working... though I doubt it."

Bowze frowned as he heard another ship land

"Expecting company?"
