“But we can stop it... by sacrificing ourselves... Is that not something we can do?” He asked.

“My master gave his life for a single normal child who didn’t even have time to say thank you. He gave of himself like a true Jedi. What am I If I’m not willing to give up my life to save others?”

“You are speaking of suicide not sacrifice, your master didn’t sacrifice himself because he thought it would stop mass suffering he did that to save someone because he believed it was right. Simply seeking self-sacrifice is selfish, you are not at fault for the actions of bad people, they are. What we can do is try, just like anyone else. Try and bring a little good and compassion into the world,” he responded.

“If you have to make that choice then you live with that consequence, I know Master Yoda says there is no try, but the meaning is that we should act, when I am saying try here I mean act in good faith and do what you can. If you are not willing or unable to give your life to save others then you are not ready to be a Jedi, and that is okay. Only you can decide what matters to you.”

He tilted his head, "I don't know Master Hin... I don't think that's it. I don't want to be a hero... I have no pressing need to kill myself for the acclaim of others. I just don't want people to die anymore... I want to treat their lives with the same respect as mine. I want to stop running... No one should have to suffer and die because I won't confront my own past."

"You can't stop people from dying," he said calmly. "You can't control what will happen to other people, you can try and be a just person but if someone wants to do something bad to others because of you, that is their choice."

"I commend your need to shoulder that burden but it isn't your responsibility."


Liua chimed in, "I guess I would say, kriff happens, but you got to keep moving forward you know. Try and do right, I mean I got a friend she helps the people but still bad stuff happens in the slums right? Still she keeps trying even if people get mad at her for giving people some hope."

"What is there to put hope in... Where does one move forward to... now... under these circumstances?" He realized he was holding the package with the lightsaber crystal in his hand tightly... it was difficult to let it go.

He hears a woman’s voice speaking to him in whispers and then he can see her just out of the corner of his eye, “There are no answers out there… you have all the answers you need right here… in your hands.”

She moves slowly around him but he can never quite focus on her.
