[Day 5 - MA] Allies and Shadows

[Dapper Dog]

Djanik snorted. "If you think we can take and hold the planet, I can puncture that bubble now."

Standing, he dusted himself off. "Dramatic though that statement was, it wasn't wrong. It's premature to think we are going to beat the Empire head on. We need time, preparations, training, and a lot more than hope." Arching one eyebrow, he added, "That doesn't mean we sit around and do nothing - but we should expect this not to be a war fought on equal footing. We'd be wise to plan to fight a mobile war - to draw the war away from the civilian populace. Not directly onto it."

With a faint shrug, he added, "But what do I know, I've only spent three years inside that war machine - seeing how it operates first hand."

"Look, I get it you're smarter than us, and probably better trained, but if you keep talking like a malakas I am going to put my boot so far up your arse your great grands kids will be tired of eating leather 24/7. You're useful, so shut the kriff up, we get it," she said forcefully.

"That goes for anyone, you want to tear us down, come to me in private, out here I am just going to punch you or shoot you."

[Djanik]

That made Djanik laugh.

"Did I say I was smarter than you? I said I know things you might be able to use, if you're too stubborn to even listen to what I'm saying I can't change that."

With a shake of his head he counted on his hands. "If you want to take that ship, you need to 1: somehow get rid of 30,000 trained Navy Crewmen. 2: Break the command codes or avoid any sort of security lockdown. 3: Source, at minimum, 10,000 trained navy Crewman of your own to operate the ship as a skeleton crew. 4: Fuel and supply a ship that costs millions of credits. 5: Somehow avoid having the Imperial navy gun it down with another squadron of Star Destroyers dispatched to punish Bankor."

With a heavy sigh, he said, "I admire your courage, your hope, and your desire to make a difference, I just am trying to help you understand what you are up against! We can fight the Empire, we just have to know when and where! If you want me to just sit down, shut up, and watch you throw your lives away for nothing, I'm sorry, I won't. Threatening me doesn't help - it certainly doesn't inspire loyalty or respect."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

Mia glanced at Dove and then walked after their fellow crew member. If there was anyone who could give her a proper report, it'd be the super spy.

“Did you not just hear me… yeah I served too and rule number one, you admonish in private and you get on board in public. So mouth off one more time and you can leave, you want to tell me all twenty eight ways we are kriffed then get me in private, but I won’t have you here tearing down morale with your holier than though quips,” she responded.

She drew her blaster, “Now do you get me, because like you said there has to be military decorum, so look at me, I am the captain now and that’s my final order. I’ll listen to you, but not like this and not here.”

"That goes for everyone."

[Dove Gray]

"Loud and clear, ma'am." The guy had been sulking up the desert already as if his thoughts alone had been giving negative vibes, and now he had pushed too far.

It was one thing to disagree, and another to act like a sanctimonious nerf-herder.

Maybe they could get on with the meeting now.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Symbolically, Ru'ni silently moved to stand behind Yusandr.

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

"Not to push things more, but can we hurry this up as well. Getting a bit antsy all out in the open like this with that thing hovering over the city in the distance. More than a few of us are too well known across the planet to be seen together without some Imp knucklehead putting two and two together and getting burn down the city as an answer."

He was still monitoring his comm for anything the two camdroids spotted.

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak nodded looking to Yusandr and back to Djanik the kid just didnt know proper place or time for this sort of thing.

[Djanik]

Djanik stared at her.

You can't be kriffing serious.

"Are you serious?"

He raised an eyebrow, "You call us here, ask us to give advice, opinions... and then you draw a blaster when I do."

"Shoot me then, if it will make you happy. If it will make some sort of point for your pride and authority. If you call for feedback and help, and then threaten me for giving it, what is the point of this gathering? This isn't a mission briefing, I thought it was a discussion."

Turning to Xanna, he answered her earlier comment, as simply as he could. "I would like to believe in diplomacy - but I have reason to be concerned the the Navy might not wait for permission to try and get even. They have done it before. I left the Navy when, in defiance of the direct instructions of the local Senator, the Navy ordered us to gun down a local demonstration, and my compatriots did it. All I want to do is help, I'm sorry I can't seem to say that the right way."

With a heavy sigh he shrugged, willing to get shot or not, and then headed for his ship.

Obviously, they were too good and noble and brave for people like him who had to live in the real world, without some all powerful force making the impossible happen for him.

She sighed heavily and holstered her weapon, "We know what needs doing. Be safe and we will be in touch."

"Everyone go have a beer or something, and remember what we are fighting for."

[Dove Gray]

Well, that had not gone exacty according to plan. Or so she thought. Bantha poodoo...

"Yusandr, I need to talk to you," Dove said, stepping towards the woman. She gestured for Ria'la and Jurdak to join in as well, considering it concerned them too.

[Dapper Dog]

She gestured for them to follow and walked over to the transport she came in and said, "Go ahead."

[Jurdak Surt]

Jurdak followed along curious about what all this was about, he followed close behind Dove looking expectantly to her.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Ru'ni was polite enough to step away when Dove requested a more private conversation.

"Then I will bid you all farewell until fate brings us together again."

She waited until Dak and Ria'la had joined them, then she looked at them with a serious expression as she began to talk. Her voice was kept in a low tone.

"Right, this got kind of lost in all of that. Anyway, to explain a little to you guys, Yusandr know this, but I've been getting inside information from the Imps - been feeding that intel to the Resistance these past weeks. I've gotten this by pretending to work for them, which has now earned me the attention of Admiral Yulani." A pause. "Personally I find her way scarier than the Inquisitor. This is a very clever woman who knows how to run an operation."

"Back to the subject; they're aware of the info-leaks. I don't think she fully suspects me, because if she did I wouldn't be here, but the three of you have been singled out as the most likely spies to have gotten that information. Based on your backgrounds and your activities of late. My initial thoughts were to try to deflect against you guys and see about framing the Brute instead, with some potential dirt we got on him, but..." she looked more to Yusandr now. "If you, or Rayne, would have any other ideas that we might use in this situation, I'm willing to listen."

The large Zabrak had remained towards the outside, listening. She frowned when Oraka had outed himself, and even more so when others joined in.

That was not wise.

Then everything dissolved into shouting, arguments and anger. People storming off, and the end of discussions.

So when the Pantoran passed, she moved her walking stick to block his path.

"Remain. I would speak with you."

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

She waited until Dak and Ria'la had joined them, then she looked at them with a serious expression as she began to talk. Her voice was kept in a low tone.

"Your anti-Imp work has caught the attention of the wrong people as well as the right ones. I got the impression you were the least likely om their list, compared to Dak and Yusandr." Maybe that was a small relief for the reporter. Though not as much for the other two.

"I was aboard The Dictator when the Admiral gave me this mission, so I have some recordings of what I saw - if you need that, Yusandr. It should give some impression of what they got up there."

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

"Did you see a holonet transceiver at all? I think a ship that big might have one."

"One sec," Dove closer her eyes as she placed a hand to the side of her head, fingers touching the side of her temple. Unseen, the dovble agent was sifting through the recorded files of the visit, looking for details she had not been actively looking for at the time, but something that her cybernetic eye could've caught a glimpse of anyway.

"There was not any aboard The Dictator from what I saw, but... I know there's one at the Foundry."

Djanik stopped, arm's crossed, as the others scattered to their own business.

"I'm listening."

Qareme turned to look at the Pantoran, pausing to let some of the others leave before speaking.

"The intent behind your words are true."

There was another pause, before she continued.

"However, your emotion was not. There are others who wish to ride a wave of success and do not consider the ramifications. There needs to be discussion between those who have experience. If things are left as they are now, it will cause a divide. Some of us have taken more risk being here than just our lives" she peered towards Oraka then back at Djanik "so I ask you to remain. To come with me, and talk with Yusandr. Clear the air."

[Djanik]

"She made her opinion clear."

He bit his lip.

"I am to talk with her later. In private."

Glancing back at the group currently talking, he added, "Besides, she is busy now. I do not think they would like me to intrude."
