MM5 - A Different Path [Closed]

[Dapper Dog]

"What happened to your sisters, Juri?" Riule asked.

[Juri Saizesh]

She was silent for a long moment, collecting her thoughts.

"Mother Talzin had allied herself with Count Dooku, and thus the Confederacy, during the Clone Wars. Dooku's apprentice was a long lost sister. I was offworld with my Matron, Soltzai." She paused, a hand resting on her amulet.

"This apprentice was named Ventress. Dooku had attempted to kill her, and when she returned, Talzin and her concocted a scheme to avenge her on Dooku. The Confederacy, led by a cyborg General, attacked."

She exhaled. "My sisters fought back. They called forth the army of the fallen. The Confederacy razed Dathomir. Defoliator Tanks, charred the earth and killed many. My Matron and I arrived a day or so after. Soltzai was able to divine what had happened with her magicks." A tear broke, moving down her cheek.

"We were ambushed by Commando Droids that had been left behind to remove any stragglers. We ran, tried to escape. Soltzai... sacrificed herself to have me escape."

Riule feels a pang of guilt, she had sat by and done nothing all these years… hiding away from the world and her sisters had suffered. She said to Delia, “I am so sorry, that is… that is not the way anyone should go.”

[Juri Saizesh]

"It was the result of a choice." She softly responded. "One I don't know if there was another option to take. A Sister was being hunted. Family chosen over politics. I... want to think my sisters were prepared to fight back, but..." Juri hugged herself, seemingly shrinking down a bit.

"Everyone suffered in the War. And the Galaxy still suffers, just under a different name. The Empire has all but erased the Jedi, and anyone with the ability to touch the Force is in danger. It could all happen again."

"One must choose family over all others," Riule said in reply.

[Juri Saizesh]

"Whether they are family by blood or my covenant, this is true." Juri replied, wiping away the tear from remember what happened to Dathomir, exhaling deeply, composing herself for a moment.

"I have my friends I care for, and there is Daunt, my..." she paused, considering. What were they, truly? It hadn't really been spoken about, but it had evolved so naturally over their time together she never really gave it a second thought, "... a Nightbrother. And more still in recent days. While not of the coven, many have grown very dear to me."

[Delia]

"Daunt?" Delia responded.

"I sense confusion, Juri."

[Juri Saizesh]

She remained quiet, pursing her lips tight. "We were brought together through the Crimson Dawn. Useful to each other. He did things they needed done, I could easily patch him up." She looked away.

"Then, I stayed closer. A stream of nightmares, and I went to him. Just..." she sighed.

"It really isn't confusing. Just hasn't really been spoken outloud."

"These things are rarely clean, Riule," added.

"If you care then care about him, if not then enjoy what you have, less confusing that way," she admitted.
