[Xanna Teevou]

Making sure that Liua was in as well Xanna nodded. "I am quite happy to pass on the bugs, but also to maybe talk. Kaff would be nice, thank you... Oh, I did not catch your name?"

She kept her demeanor cool but polite. It had been a long time, but the manners of nobility tended to stick, even if she had made a terrible noble.

[Mahon Jiut]

"You can call me Mahon, just... all I need is maybe fifteen minutes I promise," he said and then gestured for them to follow.

"You and I can help each other and the people of Bankor, it's a win-win and a lose-lose for people like that Imp."

"Alright then Mahon, that sounds agreeable. Kaff and a story. Hopefully with a helping of justice for Bankor." It was suspicious, but worst case they would get a kaff, a conversation, and tell him to be on his way. Plus she got to keep an eye on Liua and Jenna's brother Petey, so it felt like the right thing to do.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus let out a puff of breath. The last time he stood up for people... that is, really stood up for people, well, he'd helped them. But there were consequences. And he hadn't been able to help with those.

Was he being cautious, or fearful?

"Yeah, okay." Petrus smiled. "Sign me up for one of each of those, too. Kaff, story, justice." He shot a quick glance at the other two as they walked along, smiling pleasantly at Xanna, blissfully unaware of his Petey status.

Mahon got them kaff, small kaffs but everyone had a kaff! Once they were all kaffed up he started, “So men like Captain Hrugos are just a symptom, but it goes deeper. The people they are so beatdown they don’t even try to resist, they don't even lift a hand to help a girl in need and just accept the evil.”

“It didn’t used to be that way, people used to want to hope, had dreams… I remember a time when the Republic stood for something better. The Jedi… stood for something better. Now they are gone, the Republic is gone, and things are upside down, we got complacent and let others fight our battles for us. If we are going to fix this mess, we the people of Bankor have to do it, and we need to inspire hope in those that can’t see it,” he said.

“We need… our world needs people like you to stand up and do the right thing.”

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus took a slow sip of his kaff to hide his lack of an immediate answer. "Yeah." He said. His voice was rough, deeper than before, all the joking out of it. "The Jedi stood up. And look what happened. They died. They all died..." A muscle in his jaw briefly tightened.

Sighing, he sat back in his seat, both hands wrapped around his cup, letting it warm him. "But... maybe that's just because not enough people stood up. Maybe if more people had stood up..." He shook his head.

Finally, he smiled, just a little. "What did you have in mind?"

[Mahon Jiut]

“Well first off, I don't think every Jedi is dead… them wanted posters got me thinking… last year I spent some time down in and Jaklu and there was a farmer and his kid a pantoran kid, but he wasn’t blue so I thought it was odd did a quick sketch, you know for reference… I’m an artist, well I see them posters and this farmer looks a lot like this Jedi,” he said with a shrug.

“Could be a total coincidence but what if it isn’t?” he added pouring some liquor from a flask into his kaff.

As Petey wrestled with his thoughts on the matter of the Jedi Xanna sipped her kaff and made sure no-one was paying them too much attention. She managed not to spit it out all over Mahon when he piped up. Her yellow eyes narrowed as she fixed them on the human. A feeling she had long tried to forget began to well up.

"What? Have you mentioned this to anyone else? You could bring those people a lot of grief if you aren't extremely careful."

A hint of purple reached her cheeks even though her expression was unchanged. She could feel her heart rate increase.

[Mahon Jiut]

“Not yet, I thought about telling some friends of mine but they uh… had to skip town and I hope it was on purpose,” he said jokingly but there was concern at the edges of his eyes.

“You don’t seem the type to lick the Imp boots so I figured maybe you might uhh… understand the importance? If it is a Jedi, and just saying if, then the galaxy needs Jedi, it needs regular folks like us too, but a real Jedi could mean something.”

“Especially to my friends, people who like you think the world deserves better,” he finished.

[Brother Sloan]

Sloan ducked his head as he walked in through the small archway door of the cafe, and strode slowly, yet decisively towards the group of kaff drinking troublemakers.

"Mahon. You're early..." He was simply stating a fact but with his gutteral voice it was hard not to take the trandoshan's words the wrong way.

"...and you brought friends?" He glanced briefly at the human and blue-skinned woman.

"Do they know about the..." He paused and leaned down towards Mahon's ear, trying his best to be subtle. "Jedi." The growly whisper probably wasn't as quiet as he intended it to be. Sloan turned toward Petrus with an inquisitive look on his face. Then; without breaking eye contact grabbed across the table at Petrus' cup, brought it up to his lips and took a tiny sip of kaff.

“Okay so I told Sloan, but he’s barely a person more like a walking and talking mountain, but..” he said as Sloan drank the kaff, “that is it.”

“I didn’t tell him who, just that I had a lead on one, we go way back to that time he allowed me to use him as a model for one of my sculptures, so... I’ll get you another kaff.”

Mahon rose and went to the counter to get another kaff hoping he had the creds.

Petrus half rose as the big trandoshan approached, settling down as he realized the two knew each other. But perhaps it was too early to relax, as he was left unaware as his kaff was taken.

"Hey! Seriously?" Petrus spread his hands, flopping back in his chair. After a moment, he sighed. "Look big guy, taking someone's kaff just isn't done."

Shaking his head, he scooted a little closer to Xanna, taking her side literally as well as figuratively. "But Xanna's right. If... if one did show up, that's it. The Imps bring down the hammer. So if one was, uh, still around..." Petrus swallowed nervously, "well, he'd have to be really, really careful about showing himself."

[Brother Sloan]

Sloan threw back his head this time partaking in a slosh, rather than sip. Kaff truly is divine.

"Hey! Seriously?" Petrus spread his hands, flopping back in his chair. After a moment, he sighed. "Look big guy, taking someone's kaff just isn't done."

Oh. Right. Outlanders and their personal property. - It'd almost been a year in Rygor but old habits die hard.

"My apologies. small man." He figured that addressing this human by size was a matter of linguistic politeness wherever he might come from.

He took the cup with two claws and delicately placed it back in front of the man.

"There is still a swig or two left I believe." The kaff-y liquid was now diluted with a hefty amount of visible reptilian slobber.
"...and you're certainly correct." He added after returning back to his fully standing position. "whoever this hidden one is they must tread carefully...it is as the old saying goes: 'Leaving the leaf leaves one without relief. He relives reason and reality.' ". He hoped the proverb translated into common well enough.

" Yes Mahon, I think we understand the importance."

The walking, talking, mountain of reptilian muscle drew everyone's attention. Xanna thought she had seen him walking around Rygor one or twice before but had never had cause to speak with him.

"Well then. Hello Sloan. I'm Xanna, this is Petrus and Liua. Is that, a poem?" She nodded thoughtfully at Petrus then raised her right hand and clenched all but her index finger, extending others as she made her points.

"Some ground rules. Point number one: from now on no-one mentions the J-word in public. Point number two: no-one tells anyone else about what Mahon thinks he saw. Point number three, and I can't believe I'm saying this... I suppose we should hire a speeder and go check this out."

Petrus paused for a long time before answering. On the other hand, he didn't pause for a long time before shoving the cup back towards Sloan. "Go ahead and finish it. I'm not that little." He muttered under his breath. Shifting, Petrus tried to sit up a little taller in his chair, rolling his shoulders back.

Finally, he nodded. "Yeah, okay. I'm in." He frowned over at Mahon. "But you don't know where they are now, right? Just where they used to be in Jaklu?"

[Mahon Jiut]

Mahon brought another cup for Petrus and said, "You read my mind... You sure you're not a..."

He then laughed and said, "I've got a speeder you free tomorrow?"

[Brother Sloan]

"Xanna is a lovely name" He turned to the blue woman and gave her a hearty smile, revealing a set of sharp teeth. "Yes. It is a sort of poem. Advice that Aznuri children whisper to animals seeking safety from their predators."

Medium Sized Man. - Sloan took a mental note of Petrus' preferred height designation as he gladly scooped up the cup and took a shot of the remaining kaff.
"Petrus." He turned to the medium sized man and give him a polite nod.

He made a fist with his left claw and put it firmly into his right. "Our meeting is most fortunate. I too am interested in a journey to find the J.." Sloan caught himself and cleared his throat loudly. "Our reclusive friend."

[Xanna Teevou]

He then laughed and said, "I've got a speeder you free tomorrow?"

"Given that a certain Imperial Captain is likely to be causing problems around here tomorrow? Yes, suddenly I believe I am." She looked at Liua. "Join us for an adventure?"

The big Trandoshan got the faint hint of a smile. "Thank you Sloan." I chose it myself. "I look forward to learning more about the Aznuri, we rarely cross paths."

[Petrus Karath]

"Yeah, sure." Petrus chuckled. "Why not. Tomorrow's great. Can't think of anything I'd rather be doing."

He glanced around at the little group, smiling just a little. The two males were strange, but they actually seemed like good sorts. And Xanna was... wait, did she just smile at something Sloan said? After all my material crashed and burned?

Petrus' smile quirked, growing a little sickly. Two years of being voted Padawan class clown (well, informally), and here he was. And he thought it was just his lightsaber skills that he'd been letting go. "Yup. Sounds great." He added weakly.

Liua listened and then lit a cig and said, "Yeah I'll go, sounds cool I guess."

She took a deep drag and then pulled her legs up into the chair listening. A puff of smoke as she added, "I hear Jaklu is boring though."

Petrus cleared his throat as Liua exhaled a puff of smoke. "Those things are bad for you, you know." He said.

He was still getting used to being a big brother again, so he had to practice where he could.

Petrus smirked. "If you stop smoking, I will."

[Dapper Dog]

Liua looked at him and then said, "Yeah, sure. You don't have to play nice, or talk big. I've been taking care of me and I'll be doing that long after you move on."

[Brother Sloan]

"But do you have practice in taking care of others?" Sloan chimed in to the smoking youngling.

"We aren't bringing you along as some sort of charity case I assure you. I'd like to be sure you have my back if I'm to watch yours." He spoke gruffly with his massive arms folded over his chest.
