Night at the Nerf [Day 0 - EN]

[Venator Praedae]

"Gun toters? Well, you have us, don't cha?"

Jabber seems to pop up out of obscurity.

"So, how are we dividing up the teams?"

"Seems like some of us are sill workin' on da. Djanik and me are 1 deam. Room for 1 more. Who'ver inderesded." Venator throws out an open invitation after agreeing with the Jawa to start forming up teams and divvying up the work.

[Bowze Coppa]

“Well it’s not like you have to stay in this line of work, sir. There are plenty of people that could use an upstanding man like you helping them out. Honest folks who might need honest help or not so honest help doing the right thing,” she said cleaning the bar after downing her shot.

“But I wouldn't want to presume anything for you, Mister Coppa. Maybe tell ol’ V what you consider yourself a professional of? I’ll listen, can’t say I have any more answers than another fine cup of goodness.”

For most people, being told the full truth would be akin to hearing someone admit that he is a professional war criminal.

''My profession does not exist anymore, I am afraid'' he stated, taking comfort that this was somewhat not really a lie ''I currently make due with some programming, however.''

''My profession does not exist anymore, I am afraid'' he stated, taking comfort that this was somewhat not really a lie ''I currently make due with some programming, however.''

Vuxia replid, “So are you a programmer or a slicer, never mind I can see that’s not something you want to talk about. So, well what do you want to be doing, you think I want to serve drinks forever? I am trying to save some creds maybe move some place quiet and run a bakery…”

“Nice to dream I guess.”

''Programmer...slicer only when needed.'' he though about what he wanted to do...but nothing really came up. Perhaps aside from fixing what he helped break. ''I'd like to hum...make amends...I guess.''

He took another swing, people with bleak backstories should not be too out of place in this kind of bar

''Programmer...slicer only when needed.'' he though about what he wanted to do...but nothing really came up. Perhaps aside from fixing what he helped break. ''I'd like to hum...make amends...I guess.''

“Amends huh,” she said with a soft tone.

She pours him another and said, “On the house mister mysterious making amends. Depending on what you are trying to make amends for, well I know lots of people.”

When asked about where to put her bakery she replied, “I don’t… I guess maybe a small town like Jaklu. Quiet and simple away from all this.”

Dak chuckles a little "gun-toters eh? You say it like an insult or maybe accusation?" He shrugs "sure I got a gun and yeah I damn well know how to use it, doesnt mean it's the only way I know how to solve a problem or even think it's the best way. But if I'm in a pinch and I need it? Well let's say I'd much rather have it than want for it." He set the drink aside. "

As for where you're from, I'd have to say Coruscant from the sounds of things. Lived there for a little over 15 years, I've heard that accent for most of my life." He tapped his ears "Us Cathar have good ears." He said with a smile.

"If you don't plan well enough, I s'ppose," she cast her glance aside at the drink and noticed the Jawa yammering away at her, or maybe him? Perplexed a little she couldn't very well understand Jawa. Still, she'd seen vids of one before and they always seemed cute.

"Anyway," she corrected herself back to Jurdak, "guess you never really get too far from home. S'pose that you know where I'm from you've got a good idea of how I ended up here?"

Again, she looked away to the room, head always on a swivel. It was the best insurance policy in a place like this and that was when she noticed Vaya if only for the briefest of moments before casually looking onward. Tightening her free hand on the seat just a little, keep herself centered.

[Djanik]

The responses amused him. Dead civilizations... Maybe that was what they would call the republic now.

As the movement to the bar was announced he lost the chance to make his planned comment to the zabrak, so he just gave a little shrug and settled down by the bar in his habitual end seat to watch and listen, until a good reason to head home presented itself.

[Jabber]

"I dun need one doh I s'pose da is always an opshion. Ya said you were sneaky? Da is probably bedder for dis job." Venator replies facing the Jawa.

Jabber doesn't seem to notice the human woman staring at him, continuing to speak Jawa Trade lingo.

"We can always improvise that as our excuse if we get caught, but I am sneaky enough. And, well," the Jawa fishes into his robes and flashes as set of lockpicks. "I have a way about getting into where I ain't supposed to be."

[Daunt]

With the crowd re-positioned toward the band, Daunt quietly crept back into the bar, his gloves pristine again. He took a bar stool with both places at his sides empty and waited to be asked for his order while sipping the music with his ears in the meantime.

[Bowze Coppa]

“Amends huh,” she said with a soft tone.

She pours him another and said, “On the house mister mysterious making amends. Depending on what you are trying to make amends for, well I know lots of people.”

When asked about where to put her bakery she replied, “I don’t… I guess maybe a small town like Jaklu. Quiet and simple away from all this.”

A nice talk, slight intoxication or the relief from a stressful job for the hutts...any of those could have been the cause of Bowze's slight relaxation.

''I am Bowze, Bowze Coppa Miss V.'' he finished his drink before taking hold of the second one ''Thank you, this is much appreciated''

He paused for a second, considering

''I am good with computers but I also have experience managing people and organising things. If any of your friends needs those skills...''

Dak shrugged "No one is perfect, even the best slip up or run into something they didnt plan for but hey for what it's worth I hope you're right and never find yourself in a spot where you wish you had one." He said in a friendly tone. "As for your story, could be any number of things. Some ok to talk about around here.....others not so much. But I'll let a lady keep her secrets. For now." He said flashing her a playful grin. He kept his own eyes moving about the place as they talked but it was a casual thing, his amber eyes scanning the room every minute or so.

[Dapper Dog]

Vuxia smirked and said, "I am pleased to meet you, Mr. Bowze Coppa, again. I'll put you in touch with some friends maybe you all get along?"

She then said to Daunt, "Pick your poison, sweetheart and no I'm not on the menu... But I can recommend at least four drinks as sweet but none as sassy."

One more scan she saw the menacing Zabrak, the blood smear, the crowd around the band who were quick to forget. Faces of every race and Creed, all of these familiar dances and ways of talking. Concealing what you needed to in order to stay alive. How all of this used to give her a sense of pride, that she was somewhere where anyone could make it if they knew how to.

It all excited her once, kept her on the edge of her seat, but this familiar sensation now only...

"If you'll excuse me a moment, I need to find the girls room," she said, sliding forward off the seat and firmly onto her feet before rising.

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak nodded he could tell she looked a bit troubled but couldnt put his finger on why. "Just down that hall to the left if you dont know where it is. I'll be here if you want to talk more and I have a place on the edge of the rolling hills if you ever need anything." He said with a warm smile before taking a drink and turning to the room seeing what others were up to.

"Thank you," she departed without haste but directly toward the bathroom. Keeping her head down, although she always kept her head down, she moved along past those gathered.

Slipping into the bathroom itself she found herself an empty stall and locked it. Searching all corners, looking for wires or camera that might be present. There were reasons for camera's to be in here and it wasn't for peeping Tom's.

Once she had a degree of security in her privacy she leaned against the wall with the whole of her back, then her head, and then she closed her eyes. She didn't dare slump, 'less she be seen, but tried to hold a calming breath...

Vaya watched the band, her antennapalps visibly grooving to the vocals. After a minute, she spoke up again.

"So what's your story, blue? I didn’t catch your name, and Pantoran family markings are a little too contemporary to be part of my area of expertise.”

[Bowze Coppa]

Vuxia smirked and said, "I am pleased to meet you, Mr. Bowze Coppa, again. I'll put you in touch with some friends maybe you all get along?"

''I do hope so...what kind of line of work do they do?'' he ventured to ask

Vuxia said, "One's an artist and the other I hear does community work for the locals, soup kitchens and community outreach. Feel good stuff."

"Looking to do right, that's a start."

Venator nods. "Good. Guess we're pardners now. Name's Venador. Venador Praedae." He tilts his helmet over to where Djanik is sitting. "Das Djanik. Good driver."

[Jabber]

"Jabber!" The Jawa sticks out a hand in greeting, in a word that sounds surprisingly like Galactic Basic.


"At least that's what most folks here call me. It's a pleasure to meet you Pardner"

[Dapper Dog]

The lead singer smiled as she finished the song and then said, “This next one… I might need a little of your good vibes. It’s a personal song, but also a song I wrote when I felt I was neck deep in my feelings…”

With that the band started singing acapella and she stepped off the stage and started singing. She sauntered through the tables singing and swaying her hips with the beat of the percussion.

She moved next to Djanik and sang, “You know you belong in me bed…” giving him a look as she was assisted onto the bar and continued singing. She walked carefully not spilling a glass but still keeping beat with the song before kneeling next to Daunt and sang, “I can’t get you off of my brain, feeling like it’s never enough…”

She lightly touched his chin and then continued singing coming down from the bar and making her way to the stage as the band stopped their acapella and she sang the rest of the song solo putting her heart and soul into the words.

He nodded ''I think you are correct''

She stepped back as the singer walked by and then replied, “I know.”

“It’s my one gift, to always be right about everything, Mister Coppa.”
