[D5 EE] Aftermath and Recovery

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak had gotten word from Sacha that they were mostly done loading up the enclave and that the Mandalorians were en route to their new enclave on another continent. She said she wanted to stop by and Dak told her he would be home he had a brace on his arm from where he had been thrown into Mia earlier in the day after Juri said it was sprained.

He currently stood in the kitchen chopping some vegetables he had picked up at market and he had planned to make stew with, water already boiling nearby.

[Sacha Ordo]

Sacha knocked at the door, feeling the exhaustion of the day starting to weigh on her.

Dak wiped his hands and placed things in the cooling unit before heading to the door upon seeing Sacha he gave her a soft smile "Hey Sacha, come on in. How are things going with the new camp?" He said stepping to the side and opening the door wider.

[Sacha Ordo]

"They're just starting to settle in," she replied as she entered, putting a hand on his arm briefly as she entered. "Things seem to be going well in that regard." She sighed. "There's too many empty spaces."

He closed the door and returned the gesture placing a hand on her back reassuringly "Your people suffered a great tragedy today but they survived and that's all we can ask for honestly." He ushered her in "come on, I'm sure you need a drink after the day you've had."

[Sacha Ordo]

"We always survive," she replied with a humorless chuckle. She sounded a little more positive as she continued. "They'll rebuild soon. Though I wouldn't say no to that drink at all."

She walked inside and found a place to sit, nearly falling into it. "How was your day?"

Dak grabbed something stiff and amber colored in a glass and handed it to the mando as he sat on the opposite end of the couch leaning back and facing her "oh normal day you know, fought an imperial garrison and sith inquisitor, chased down a bounty, met with the resistance, found out I'm a suspected spy. All in all pretty normal day." He said chuckling ruefully while taking a drink from his own glass.

She shifted her angle on the couch so she could face him as she lounged. "Wow, my day was practically run of the mill in comparison. Learned a lot, though. Made a really kriffing stupid metaphor about the Force. So hey, accomplishment.". She laughed before taking a sip of alcohol through a straw.

Dak shrugged "it sounds much more glamorous than it was and I had a rather slow morning so theres that."

Her mention of the force got a raised eyebrow "What do you know about the force?"

[Sacha Ordo]

"Not a lot... Yet, anyway," she said, gesturing broadly with the glass. "Hence the stupidity of the metaphor. It's big, it's generated by living things, and, uh... I can sometimes do stuff with it. There's my current summary." Her casualness was a little forced, as if she was testing the waters of his reaction.

His one raised eyebrow was joined by the other and a slight widening of his eyes "Well now that is something. What kind of stuff? Were you a jedi? Thatd be an interesting thing for a mandalorian." He leaned forward and his tail was behind him moving excitedly at his apparent excitement.

[Sacha Ordo]

She laughed a little awkwardly. "I wasn't a Jedi that I'm aware of. I was really young when they took me in as a foundling," she replied with a shrug. "If there was that kind of history, I would've been too young to remember."

"Still, I can only influence emotions right now. I've mostly used it to look after animals."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak smiled "oh I'm sorry you only have one supernatural power. That must be so hard." He said teasingly "but seriously that's pretty amazing all you need is a teacher and a whole world of possibilities is open to you, from my limited understanding at least."

[Sacha Ordo]

There was a moment of silence before she sighed. "You can't see it, but I stuck my tongue out at you. It was very teasing and cute. I hope you enjoyed this episode of Sacha's expression theater."

"Yeah, maybe." She leaned back and took a long drink, turning thoughtful in tone.

Dak chuckled "I'm sure it was quite cute. You have to admit you're different from a lot of Mandalorians. Most arent so, I dont know, silly? Or as you say cute. Most are like that Horus guy all gruff and serious. At least around us outsiders." He said with a shrug.

[Sacha Ordo]

She shrugged, the gesture a little awkward with embarrassment. "Life's harder if you let yourself take things too seriously, I think. Besides..." She paused. "... It makes it easier connect with others, at least a little bit."

"Horus is pretty cold with me, too, to be honest."

[Jurdak Surt]

He nodded "yeah that's true, for what's it's worth you're my favorite mandalorian." He said extending his foot out to playfully kick her leg and chuckling.

"Yeah he seems like a cold one. But I'm sure he cares about things in his own way."

[Sacha Ordo]

She kicks his back. "Given that bar is somewhere in the planet's mantle, I feel damned by faint praise," she replied dramatically, shaking her head before laughing.

"He does. He agreed to mentor me, and hasn't had too much to say about the Force thing."

[Jurdak Surt]

He chuckled a bit "Hey I trust you to a fair degree, I dont trust many people to enter my home, share my drink, but you've proven to be a good one Sacha Ordo. As for Horus I'm sure it's hard to talk about something you can hardly understand in the first place."

[Sacha Ordo]

"I do appreciate the trust you've shown me," she replied with a nod. "You'd think we'd understand it better by now. Know your enemy, if nothing else..."

[Jurdak Surt]

"You've given me no reason not to trust you and working with you over the weeks I've seen at least part of who you are underneath all that armor." He said with a smile "Each people have their own thing, their own rules about that sort of thing. Dunno just work with them maybe over time it could change."

[Sacha Ordo]

She chuckled. "Been looking to find out what's under my armor?" Boots were pushed off and she shifted so her legs were fully on the couch. "Though I have been thinking about that some. How things could change - how we could be better."

[Jurdak Surt]

He chuckled 'well you know what they say about cats and curiosity." He said with a throat chuckle and a gaze that implied more than his words did. He had thought about it of course, what she looked like under there but he had resigned himself to never seeing it.

He adjusted himself to be facing her as directly as he could "and what do you think could be improved Sacha? How is it you think your people grow?"

[Sacha Ordo]

"Curiosity killed it and satisfaction brought it back," she replied primly.

"As far as my people go, though... I think we'd do better if we understood the lessons we should have learned from our past better. I think there's room in the Resol'nare for a wider range of approaches to problem solving. A lot of our leaders have been rather... all or nothing. Both the New Mandalorians and Death Watch are like that."

[Jurdak Surt]

"True it is, especially the part about satisfaction." He said with a small laugh.

He nodded along with her explanation "makes sense, that does seem to be your peoples way. Either all violence and combat and warriors' pride or pacifism. A people of extremes from what I've seen."
