"What are they?" Qareme asked, accepting a helmet from the ever-fluttering around Vaya. She didn't believe it was required, but accepted it to help calm the woman.

"Whaa? Why do we need helmets? No way the Jedi would build a temple in a place with old bacteria!"

She was about to continue offering up 'solid arguments' as for why she didn't need a suit or a helmet, when mention of a guardian came.

"Well that doesn't make sense. Jedi wouldn't put any monsters in a temple either. Maybe it's talking about a security system to keep out non-Jedi?"

"There is a difference between a monster and a guardian, Verse. If there is sacred knowledge, there will be a guardian" Qareme stepped forward, almost looming over Vaya. Not threatening, however she was very large.

As much as Tirali said she sought redemption, Ru'ni could not trust quite that easily. He positioned himself behind the non-person for the duration of their visit and accepted the helmet willingly.

"Do we all need to recite this entreaty?" He asked no one in particular.

Petrus accepted the helmet with a bit of a grimace; he didn't think it was necessary, but there it was.

He nodded to Qareme. "Go ahead. I'll be right beside you."

Sinnya faced the unfamiliar realization that for once in their shared travels, the unworldly, anything-but-local Jedi might have a better idea of what to expect in this place and how to deal with it than she did. She took extra care as she prepped her respirator and other emergency gear before following Qareme, Verse, and Petrus off the ship.

Vaya realized she was stalling, and blushed as she analyzed why. Fortunately, the helmet hid it.

Half of it was the, to her mind, entirely admirable feeling of hesitation around transgressing on sacred ground. The other half was thinking of all the great, famous names who had gotten to be great in famous for being first.

“Qareme, Petrus, and I,” she said firmly, before finally agreeing to press the ‘open ramp’ button. “I probably know as much of what to expect of anyone, and I don’t think the Jedi would make anything that would disintegrate a Master’s dogsbody just because they couldn’t bend a spoon.” And both of them would maintain a stately pace, until she, ever so subtly, lengthed her stride to put a boot off the ramp first… no-one needed to know about her private greed. "Everyone check your helmet seals...."

The ramp hissed as it opened.

Qareme had put her helmet on, and much like before as the ramp opened she put her hand on Vaya's shoulder. She waited patiently for the door and ramp to finish, even though she felt a slight impatience.

Taking a small breath, the large Zabrak stepped out first, walking down the ramp and looking around.

If any historians looked back on the event, they might note the only trained observer recorded that Doctor Vaya Mer'darrow was first to set foot in the temple. They might also note that the trained observer was the Balosar herself. Who can say, really?

Vaya's petty concerns about primacy were swept away once she had actually set foot in the temple. She walked in a small circuit around their landing pad, recording with her macrobinoculars and alternating muttering Tirali's charm and muttering notes into her recorder.

Ooc: perception or knowledge check for initial observations/conclusions?

For his part, Petrus looked around, mentally comparing the surroundings to the vision he'd so recently had.

Besides that, he had gone back to reverent silence.

The interior matched what Petrus had seen and the outside was pleasant and breathable. Tirali shoved past and made her way to the door and said the sacred sutra:

“There is no emotion, there is peace,
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge,
There is no passion, there is serenity,
There is no chaos, there is harmony,
There is no death, there is the Force;
There is no contemplation, there is Duty.”

The ray shields covering the door deactivate and there is a computerized voice, “Welcome home, Master Jedi.”

The hallway beyond lit up.

Qareme moved towards the door as it was opened. The sutra spoken by the woman was curious, especially the final line.

"Thank you, Tirali. Let us go in further. Unless there are more security parts to go past?"

She moved forward to get a better look.

An intake of breath, and Petrus looked sharply at her. "Where did you learn that?" He asked, his blue eyes intent.

He looked around at the others. "I think that this wasn't an ordinary Jedi temple. It belonged to the Sixth Line. An elite group from long ago, who put service to the Republic above all else. Which mean that they were willing to do things that we wouldn't. And shouldn't."

His lips pressed together as he considered the implications.

"You chose to put yourself apart from them," Sinnya snapped. "Spare us the self-pity."

She moved lightly forward, stepping carefully as if following a trail through leaf litter. "Are you saying this place was built by... dark ops Jedi? That's a thing?"

And the ones of whom Tirali spoke, the ones SHE turned her back on by her betrayal, one of them was trying hard to memorize the words so that they could avoid the possibility of such knowledge being lost.

"If that is accurate, then we need to be careful. They may indeed have security that other Jedi may not have, as well as other things."

Some things that should never leave this place

Qareme moved to enter the hallway.

A pause. "At least... I don't think so..." Now his voice was uncertain; he glanced at Qareme for confirmation.

Vaya recorded, took notes, and observed. The protocol she followed did not disguise a deep reverence. Finally yielding to the obvious, she doffed her helmet.

"Tell me about the 'guardian,' Tirali," she said, adding, "Please."

“Greetings Jedi of the Sixth Line, you are home. Rest for the Republic will need you to return to the fight soon, the Empress must be destroyed at all costs to save this galaxy. We currently have insufficient food stores, please replenish them,” a human woman spoke materializing next to them.

She moved with a measured gait, her lightsaber hung off her hip as she continued, “It has been sixteen years since I was last called to service. You are not the current Guardian, my systems say she is still resting.”

“Curious, but still you are Jedi and others?” she finished in an old form of Basic, understandable but with an old timey accent.

"I do not believe..." Qareme started before the woman suddenly appeared and spoke. That surprised her, but she didn't think it was good to correct her about the sixth line comment yet anyway....
