"I see, thank you."

Qareme left the comment about the child to the others.

"I must inform you that the Jedi Council is, as it current stands, no more. What is the activation command? What will be activated?"

Tirali just smiled playfully.

"We are," she said, "I bet a place like this could be really useful against the Empire."

Master Surro said, "It is a fail safe as the temple never saw full service and once the situation on Coruscant deteriorated we scrubbed all data of the temple from the archives and waited for the activation of an all clear code. It has yet to be transmitted and if what you say is true perhaps never will."

“Okay, so what are you going to do about it? Drink tea and go back to sleep?” Sinnya knew she was behaving badly, but Lucinia’s calm got under her skin. The galaxy was on fire and this woman seemed like she’d just got back from a day at an expensive spa.

Qareme closed her eyes, taking a moment to push past Sinnya's comments. It meant she missed Tirali's smile.

"What will you do now Master Surro, Master Malvik? I understand we are not from the Council, and I do not believe we have any authority to request for your assistance, but the Sith have risen and they cast a shadow of darkness across the whole galaxy. We would welcome your assistance to face this darkness."

"No one will miss you," Ru'ni whispered into Tirali's ear. "You cut yourself off from our ways to save your own skin. But I can as easily remove it from you as a vixabrys beast. I think you like life too much to be so stubborn. You know more than you say."

Ru'ni nestles the arrow he has nocked inbetween two of Tirali's ribs. "Speak, now!" He growled.

“Kill me you close minded dolt and you lose any chance of actually utilizing this temple to it’s full potential,” she said with a devious smile.

“Your people came here, walked these halls, studied their ways… learned and kept the secrets. Not all records were lost with their fallen Order.”

Tirali finished, “Kill me, I have nothing to lose, but the Jedi Order has everything to lose.”

Something; but who knows what; of what the hologram was saying resonated with her; but things deteriorated shortly after.

"Woaw," she got up, and put her hands up as well. "Sorry, sorry, we've all been through a lot recently, there's... I mean we should all calm down, right?"

She looked toward the people who weren't being angry or saying mean things.

"Right?"

Then more words were added, separate words, kill me, blah blah...

"...right? Guys?"

Sinnya’s hands balled into fists. “How do you even know that if you haven’t seen her in sixteen years? Why even have a kid then?”

It was probably obvious something here felt a bit...personal.

“As far as I can tell this is all a dusty pile of relics we might as well let Vaya take apart for clues. What’s the point of keeping it all running? How is that more important than... than being a person?” The more she thought about it, the more intermittent suspended animation for thousands of years seemed like no way to live.

"Verse is correct."

Qareme rose, looking over the group.

"We have all suffered at the hands of the Empire, but anger is a path to the Dark Side. Sinnya, Master Malvik, I humbly request perhaps taking some time to calm and reflect. Now is not the time to be fighting."

Vaya spoke without looking up from her datapad, still fileting it with her stylus. "Qareme might be right, but I have some questions, Guardian Malvik, Master Surro," she paused, "and Tirali, if you're willing to answer them. We came here thinking we would find a relic, and were hoping to decide based on what we found here how to best use it to help the galaxy, and what's left of the Order." She looked up at the woman, hoping that her approach would help her re-stabilize after getting torn at by Sinnya. Vaya wasn't sure she blamed the kid, but there was so much else going on in her head that which of the two was right or wrong wasn't allotted much space.

"We didn't come here to loot!" Verse felt a little like everyone had gone insane. "Or kill anyone!"

She looked between all the crazy people.

"There's an evil empire run by the Sith going around killing people, they've almost destroyed the Jedi Order, and then we learned about this hidden temple. We thought it needed protecting from the Sith. I mean, maybe we hoped there'd also be stuff and knowledge here we could *use*, but we're definitely not looters. We're Jedi."

Well, some of us are.

Vaya's gaze snapped to the hologram, and she held up her hands, leaving her datapad and stylus in her lap. It was a peaceful gesture at odds with her words. She waited for Verse to finish before she spoke.

"I came in the company and with the blessing of three Padawan learners who were children when everyone who outranked them in the order was killed and they were left alone to fight a galaxy that the Sith had conquered and wanted to kill them too. They came to try and find something that would give them hope that their destiny wasn't to be child soldiers in the prolonged last stand of the Jedi Order."

She was breathing heavily. Why am I angry at a complicated droid? She barely noticed she hadn't said anything about why she had come here.

"So why are you here," Master Surro asked Vaya her gaze looking knowing and wise.
Vaya looked at what she insisted on thinking of as the hologram, and then broke her gaze. Did I just lose a staring match with a droid? She found herself looking at Qareme, which was... steadying. The ancient human was letting the hologram talk, and since one or both of them controlled access to this place, she answered.

"Some to help them," said Vaya. "A little because I'm curious, and I want to learn about what was." A small part of her wondered if that was a bad answer, and composed a sophistic response to imagined criticism riffing off of there is no ignorance, there is knowledge, but the rest of her moved on. "Some of it is because I want to know if I can..." she runs out of words, and looks at Petrus, since it's nothing she hasn't told him before, and it makes her feel less naked to imagine she's just repeating herself, instead of saying it in front of all these people. "Something I felt once. I thought the Force was speaking to me. I don't think I'll ever be any kind of Jedi, not like that. But can't help but feel that if there is a Force, we should listen to it. And I think it brought me here." She rounds back on Master Surro, a defiant tilt to her chin. Good enough? All of it was true, but damned if she hadn't done her best to craft it into a weapon to hurl at her mark.

"Which leads me to my first question," said Vaya. "Is there anything here that someone of ill will and some knowledge could cause trouble with?" She looked at Tirali uneasily. "This woman... well, I'll let others speak as to what exactly she did, but she attempted to ally with the Empire and was cast out after doing a lot of damage. But she also was the keeper of the Anzuri lore about this place, and knew how to get us here. If she knew some other secret passcodes or ways, is there anything she could hijack?" She continued quickly, "If the answer is 'yes,' don't go into any detail just now, please."

She looked at Tirali and shrugged. "Sorry, I told you if you helped get us here we'd take you somewhere else. This place isn't on the list of possible destinations."
