Jabberwocky (Day 6 Mid Evening)

What was that place called again? Jabber something? Jagan something? Yeah that was it Jagga's Hook. It certainly sounded like the type of place a gang would hide out.

Still that didn't mean he knew where it was, so it did take him a bit of time and a few questions to figure out where it was. Of course a large amount of speeders painted the same color would likely tell him when he got there.

It was a dive near a junk yard with green speeders parked outside.

Rather what he had been expecting, approaching he took a few moments to glance over the speeders. Maybe one of them looked freshly painted? Or had a tinge of purple mixed in underneath?

Whatever he saw he didn't linger long as he moved towards the door.

None had had any purple on them.

Well that seemed like a dead end, though he had been thinking that was likely the case. The kings likely had no involvement in this, but it was the only lead he had.

Stepping into the dive he took a quick look around. Looking for the obvious gang members as well as anyone who looked out of place. The Gammoreans had mentioned the Disciple after all.

He saw the gang members and a few old beings drinking and a large four armed bartender.

Well, that was rather what he was expecting and truth of the matter was he really didn't know how to proceed. So he went with his gut walking to the bar and taking a seat, and waiting for the bartender to make his way over.

[Dapper Dog]

She smiled and said, "We got Dugongo beer and shine, pick your poison."

[Astin Denive]

"Dugongo beer then." Astin offered returning the smile, and waiting for the big woman to come back before he added

"By the way, couldn't help but notice all the speeders outside. Get a lot of races around here?"

[Dapper Dog]

She looked at the gang and said, "Just the usual trash, but they keep the peace and keep me fed so whatever."

She handed him a bottle and popped the top.

He accepted the beer with a dip of his head in thanks. "Business is business I can I understand that. Mind if they ask if they are the real dangerous sort? A fella likes to know if he's in a bar where he should watch what he says."

[Dapper Dog]

"If you draw a blaster maybe or steal their bikes or run with them pig-heads... otherwise not really," she said.

[Astin Denive]

"Seems I don't have to much of a problem then." He smiled and ran a hand through his hair. "I'm guessing the pig-heads are a rival group of folks like them?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Yeah everyone has to hate someone else," she said proudly.

"They been getting rowdy lately because one of theirs got killed but it wasn't this crew. Come to think of it, I saw one of their bikes parked outside an apartment building not far from here, place probably got raided though by the Imps."

[Astin Denive]

Astin snorted. "I'd be more interested to hear about a place that hadn't been raided by the imps lately. Still that building sounds like the kind of place you want to steer clear of." Astin offered with a shake of his head as he finished his beer.

"Could be who ever hit those pig-heads lives there after all."

[Dapper Dog]

"That's my guess as well, you an investigator?" she asked. "It is just around the corner."

[Astin Denive]

"Not particularly." He offered with a shrug. "Ain't got no credentials or anything at the very least. Do have some friends with bikes though, and others that work on them."

He glanced towards the gang member. "None of these crowd or the other, mind ya. But if someone is going around killing people for their bikes, it's a concern. Not like us folk around here can count on the cops to look into it either."

[Dapper Dog]

"So what, you're a good guy just looking out for bad folks?" she said with a laugh.

[Astin Denive]

That brought a chuckle to his lips and he shook his head. "Nah, I ain't that good of a guy: but then most folk around here aren't that bad either. A lot of them are just doing what they can to survive, or like you just working where the have to sto make a living."

"Whoever did this they're different though, and bad for all of us to have around." He pulled out the credits for the beer and a few more for the tip and placed em on the table. "Thank you for your help."

[Dapper Dog]

"Any time," she said giving him a beer for road.

"For looking out for us not so bad people."

[Astin Denive]

"Thanks." He offered in return, accepting the beer and making for the door...

She had said the place was an apartment right around the corner it couldn't be far. So he went off in search of it.

He sees the bike in question and lots of storm troopers forming perimeter around the building. They have some wanted pictures up of dissidents.

[Astin Denive]

Well that was a damned problem, it would be hard to get close to inspect the bike, though if he was a betting man he'd say it was the one from that night weeks ago.

Popping the top of his beer he took a sip as he began to walk past the building. Maybe there was something that could help him distract the troopers.
