[Day 6-ME] Settling in

[Jabber]

Jabber wanders the base, excited at the new sights and sounds. They had formed an interesting little coalition so far...ex-CIS bandits (that he had considered hunting at one point), Jawa merchants and...whatever HYDRA was. The little operation was strange, but he'd been a son of a bantha if it didn't excite him.

[Dapper Dog]

Dredgen and a droid were working on installing plumbing for working refreshers... actually they were finishing up the work.

[Jabber]

"Thanks for the help. Do you guys need anything? I know that our situation is a bit sparse, so I'm here to get what you need. Oh...right. I'm Lieutenant Kineluc, acquisitions and appropriations specialist. Lieutenant Jabber is fine."

[Dapper Dog]

"Probably need a better filtration system, it'll work for what we have here but if we get more people we are going to need a more robust unit. Currently just taking outside ice melting it down and running through a cobbled together system. It'll work, just don't get mad if hot water gets short in the mornings," he said gruffly.

"Potable water is good to..." he hit the pipe and finished, "Good to go."

[Jabber]

Jabber nods. "We should have a bunch of scrap merchants coming by soon if they aren't here already. Maybe they can get something up and running. I have credits on hand if they need it right away, but it's not as if we have any real way to spend it here right now. If we need a quick and dirty supplement..."

(OOC: Survival for quick hack to supplement potable water?)

"I also want a moment to clear the air. We have a lot of different backgrounds around here, and I wouldn't be shocked if it comes up that I was looking for you a while back."

[Dapper Dog]

"You're alive so you didn't try to cash in," he said flatly.

OOC: Sure Average.

[Jabber]

"Well yeah, that wound up being a smart idea. But even then, I was interested for another reason. You're not the only one with a Hutt bounty on your head you know...some beings hope to emulate your success."

Jabber lets out a little laugh.

"Tididiol let me here because it was spitting in Jabba's eye...but never was going to lift an eyebrow to help me. Well...I kind of stepped into a bigger bantha pile now."

"You know, I am sure that the tools that we are using are running hot. Ice might keep it cold, help mask our signature, and maybe use the heat to boil and sterilize the ice." Jabber shrugs. "Just a thought."

[Dapper Dog]

Good idea, see how it works," he said about the water.

[Jabber]

"Anything else? I mean, a bar wouldn't be amiss, but that might be for a later time."

Jabber casts his eyes around, trying to see if anyone else needs a hand.

[Dapper Dog]

Lots of activity all around but Dredgen shrugged and said sternly, "I if I need something I will take care of it."

He grabbed his tools and moved on to his next task.

[Jabber]

Jabber's expression darkened beneath his hood.

There's a potential risk here

They were trying to make a coalition out of some very independent individuals. There was potential for clash there. But Bowze was the leader, not him. Jabber could smooth over what he could, but the Neimoidian was the one who could lead and inspire.

"I'll see about that filtration unit."

Jabber goes to see if any of the other groups have started to settle yet.

[Dapper Dog]

Some of the Jawas are playing a card game with some of Dredgen's crew.

[Jabber]

Jabber grins under his hood as he sees his Jawa brethren fitting in.

His pheramones flare and he stops the pretense of trying to make sounds that Basic speakers can understand. "It's good to see you all...don't cheat too badly."

[Dapper Dog]

His fellow jawas sulk but they try not to cheat excessively.

[Jabber]

"Of course, you know what they say...it's only cheating if you get caught." Jabber lets out a titter. "But there is a serious ground rule that I want to mention before it becomes an issue. There are some manumitted droids who will be joining us. NO scavenging them unless they broken beyond repair...and if there is any doubt, you should ask. In exchange, we can give protection for trips to dangerous salvage sights, like the Industrial Wastes. Does that seem fair?"

[Dapper Dog]

Most seem on board with that proposal. Except Jibbywiggs, but she really likes droids in a weird way.

[Jabber]

Jabber claps Jibbywiggs on the shoulder. "Don't worry...just ask. Some might be up for someone giving them an hand in the undercarriage as long as you ask for permission."

[Dapper Dog]

She seems okay with that, for now.

[Jabber]

Jabber moves on, unsure if the Metal Union beings had managed to make it in yet.

I mean, it's only been a few hours, but maybe we should make room for them...

[Dapper Dog]

They had claimed a storage bay as their own, and HYDRA was busy getting connected to systems. Or that is what it looked like.

[Jabber]

"Um..." Jabber does a double take at HYDRA loading into their systems and turns on his heels to find Bowze.

[Bowze Coppa]

Ancient unknown droids that held a possible cure hostage did not strike as the kind to get instant access to all of the base's systems.

When Jabber mentioned it...the nemoidian thought it prudent to inquire

"Good evening Miss Hydra, everything is going well?"

[Dapper Dog]

She spoke through the speakers of the storage area, "I find this location subpar, I see resistance to connecting to your comm systems. They are wholly inefficient. I can improve that."

[Bowze Coppa]

He raised an eyebrow

"Already getting into our systems I see? Do you not find it ... a bit impolite without prior permission?"

He joined his arms behind his back

"I can give you access to what our systems pick up but I do not think I can give you full control..."

He frowned, thinking of something

"I am sure we can discuss amiable boundaries."

[Dapper Dog]

"I only want access to information," the intelligence responded.
