[Day 6, MM] Buried treasure? I'd settle for a trade wind

[Dapper Dog]

"Oooh secret names... okay, well my first name is stupid... Drascovina..." she said making a face.

[Xanna Teevou]

Eleeza blinked. "So you are saying we have both been keeping our real names hidden?" She shook her head and gave a bemused smile. "Drascovina? Where does that come from? It sounds a bit like a name from a story also!"

[Dapper Dog]

"... my parents... real parents named me that I guess, then my step parents died and I have been living my step aunt and her... boyfriends ever since," she said.

"Living... is a strong word."

She smirked and said, "Liua is actually short for Liuacinia, you know since we are telling secrets."

[Xanna Teevou]

"Drascovinia Liuacinia? Well, I like Liua, it suits you." She lazily started drawing something in the sand.

"I'm sorry about your old family, my first family was awful. Rich, and awful. But hey, our new one is pretty great! And I was...am...anyway, my real name is Eleeza Kaesan-Mixo. The Mixo's were force sensitive from way back, but not always in a good way."

She had drawn a butterfly with her toe. "What do you like better? Eleeza, or Xanna?"

[Dapper Dog]

"What do you like better?" she asked.

[Xanna Teevou]

"I like them both. I suppose they mean different things to me now. You know?" She smiled. "The Jedi and the Soup lady."

[Dapper Dog]

"So which is one is the real you?" she asked.

[Xanna Teevou]

She whistled. "You know. For a long time I thought Eleeza was gone. That she was my past and Xanna was my future." A wry smile. "But now, I do not think that is how it works. I think they are both just aspects of the real me. I think, maybe, I no longer need to choose one or the other."

[Dapper Dog]

"Maybe we can combine the names, Eleezaxanna?" No?" Yeah, sounds dumb," she joked.

[Xanna Teevou]

She laughed pleasantly and shook her head. "Oh no, that is terrible! That is a name for one of Petrus' shows!" When she stopped laughing she still had a smile on her face. "Okay, I will be Xanna, and you will be Liua. We will bring hope wherever we go. Also soup and sass."

[Dapper Dog]

"I think that's for the best," she said.

"So what happens after we win, so we start the whole Jedi temple again? Will we be Masters? How does one become Master, get old?"

[Xanna Teevou]

Xanna laid back on the sand, folding her arms behind her head. "I think maybe, in a way, we have already started? Master Oraka's school for gifted people... But I do not think we really need a Temple. At least not the big old building. It would be a big target for the Empire anyway. And Masters become Masters by being recognized as Masters by their peers. At least that is how I think it worked. They were usually pretty old though, at least 30 or more."

[Dapper Dog]

"30 is pretty old," she agreed.

"So padawan is us right now, so how do we know when we are not padawan?"

[Xanna Teevou]

"I think it is mainly about experience and understanding. Connection to the force. Temperament. All these things." She looked over at Liua. "It is different for each of us, but Master Oraka can probably answer that question for you far better than I can."

[Dapper Dog]

"Yeah but talking to Jedi Dad just leaves me with more questions," she said with a smirk. "It's a good thing but all that thinking... what am I a book?"

[Xanna Teevou]

"You would be an exciting adventure novel Liua!" The description seemed apt. "It sounds like Jedi Dad is doing his job if you always leave with more questions. I think that is part of being a Master, and thinking is an important part of being a student."

[Dapper Dog]

"That is why I skipped school," she said.

"Jedi school is a bit more my speed. Is this like what it was like in the Core, hanging out meditating and running around with lightsabers?"

[Xanna Teevou]

"I was not that good with the book learning to be perfectly honest." Clouds passed by lazily overhead. "I did not stay in the core for very long, just half a year or so. But there was a lot of meditating, and classes full of students with blast helmets and training sabers. Not quite so much running around perhaps."

She thought back to Devaron. "I was mostly trained out in the colonies, as the core worlds call them. The Temple of Eedit. My Master said I had a knack for talking my way out of trouble." She smiled at the memory.

[Dapper Dog]

"You do have a way of talking that sets people at ease," she admitted.

[Xanna Teevou]

"I just work at being kind. I do not always manage, but I believe it is worth the attempt." She ran some sand through her fingers, enjoying the sensation.

"And if I am unsure, I start by asking myself what my birth parents would do in this situation. Then I do the opposite."

[Dapper Dog]

"Were they really that bad?" she asked.

[Xanna Teevou]

She shrugged. "They knew the price of everything and the value of nothing."
