[Day 6, LM] The new guy

[Xanna Teevou]

Since finding Oraka thanks to Mahon she had not yet missed an opportunity to train with him. Today would be no exception, and she was curious...apparently there was another new recruit. Oraka's words had been typically cryptic, but the force certainly seemed to be bringing them all together.

She walked down to the water's edge and started working through some lightsaber drills. Footwork was the main thing. Master Oraka's last session had been most instructive.

[Rannek Nire]

From near the edge of the cliff that stood next to the waterfall a hand appeared... and then in short order a head and body as he pulled himself up to the top of the plateau.

[Xanna Teevou]

He was quite a distance away but Xanna thought there was something familiar about the Mirialan. Her eyes widened slightly in recognition. "Rannek?"

[Rannek Nire]

He looked up at his name being called and smiled and waved, "Xanna? Cool! You must be one of Master Hin's students?"

[Xanna Teevou]

"I am! I did not realise that you were the new student, it is good to see you." She gave him a wave. Was he going to jump off?

[Rannek Nire]

He walked closer to her, it appeared he was somewhat out of breath as if he had just climbed the rock-face.

"I thought there was something familiar about your face when we met last time... but I didn't want to be some creeper and stare at you or something. I'm guessing you spent some time on Coruscant as a child? I did too... Name was Juba Unduli then though."

[Xanna Teevou]

She was running through a few drills as he approached but stopped as he neared and deactivated the blade. One hand made a wobbling gesture. "I was there, but only for a few months. Most of my training was on Devaron. So perhaps? It would have been...twelve years ago?"

[Rannek Nire]

He nodded, “Yeah I was there then. Was only there until I was about thirteen. Left the order for a bit then... about 6 years ago or so. Right during the war.”

[Xanna Teevou]

"I also went by a different name back then, and I did not have my tattoos." She smiled briefly. "It seems we shared a little of our path before. And now they cross once again."

She decided not to ask him about leaving the order. If he wanted to discuss it she would be happy to, but decided to let him bring it up.

"I fought during the war. That is where I first met Master Oraka."

[Rannek Nire]

"Oh yeah? That's neat. He seems like a pretty stellar dude. Quiet... but cool." He replied.

"I was on Coruscant at the start and then my parents demanded I come home to Mirial... They were Separatists and were upset about some thing that is a big deal to Mirialans but nobody else really cares. So I spent the last couple of years of the war back on Mirial... until the whole... Kill the Jedi thing happened."

[Xanna Teevou]

Xanna thought back to those days when she had first come to know Oraka Hin. "He was a Knight when I knew him. He spoke out for peace, wished for the Jedi to avoid being dragged into becoming war leaders and soldiers. When the council decided otherwise he fought, but always as a last resort. He was a great example of what it means to be a Jedi."

She listened to his story and nodded in understanding. "So you went into hiding, as most of us did." A smile. "But now the force has led you to us."

[Rannek Nire]

“Yeah... on the run. And now... trying to get my... stuff... together.” He said with a nod.

[Xanna Teevou]

"Well we are all in this together Rannek. If you would like to train together, or just talk, I am very happy to do so. Jedi are a team, and as my best friend Liua would say: Jays for life." She looked off and laughed pleasantly.

[Rannek Nire]

He snorted a chuckle and nodded, "She seems like a good apple."

[Xanna Teevou]

"Oh she is. You will get to meet her soon. She grew up on the street and, well, helping her out is what set Petrus and I on the path to find Master Oraka." She thought back to Captain Htugos and the Stormtroopers. Going from that to this, training again and making friends with other former Padawans. "Well, you will get to train with her soon, I am sure of it."

[Rannek Nire]

"I've met her a couple of times actually. She's funny with that tough exterior. I look forward to working with you all." He said.

"How many are there? Liua, you, some guy name Petrus you say?"

[Xanna Teevou]

She smiled and raised her eyebrows. "Did she call you a sleemo yet? It is meant affectionately, I think. Well, there is also Brother Sloan, he is an Aznuri Trandoshan. Quareme is a very tall, calm, Zabrak. Verse is another Mirialan, with no tattoos, and is the opposite of calm. There may be more I have yet to meet."

(OOC: Apologies to anyone I have met and forgotten to mention. I don't think I know about Floats until the Rescue mission later that night.)
