And suddenly you have to think of a new NPC on the fly that the players are interested in for mystifying reasons...

Ha... and I had a player once say that I didn't need to make a fleshed out back story for a shopkeeper.

The malaise part is subtle... but that probably fits for someone trying to get by and blend in at least a little; People can be good at hiding their troubled thoughts under a veneer.

These things are rarely perfect. Well, at least for me, in the only experience I can personally speak for. Not the sort of thing I would have thought of for what I typically think of for a Mando, but that just makes the message speak more clearly to me. Preconceptions for me to overcome.

Is the Inquisitor in some big room supervising a bunch of interviews? Or are they brooding evilly behind the scenes while folks are just taken to interview rooms/cubicles?
