Something Sketchy here (D7 EM)

[Qareme Torth]

Qareme was thankful that Petrus had agreed to this. Normally she wouldn't be concerned about him accepting or not, but lately she's been less confident in everything. She had learnt that Neela had a cabin on the island, and Petrus had made a comment about the scene being good for drawing, so to Qareme it seemed ideal.

She made the arrangements with both Petrus and Neela, and waited for them near to Neelas cabin.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus arrived, dressed in the new outfit that Xanna had made for him. Normally deep reds were his color, but blues and greys seemed to suit him well, too. He had not just his sketchbook under his arm, but a few others as well.

He inclined his head to Qareme. "Good morning, Qareme." He said, smiling gently.

[Qareme Torth]

Qareme had been looking out into the distance as Petrus approached, where the sun was starting to rise. She looked quite thoughtful, so as he spoke she turned as if she hadn't noticed him.

"Good morning. Thank you again for agreeing to this. I believe it will be of great help to Neela. I felt this location would be good for sketching also, remembering your words from before."

She turned back towards the cabin.

"Let us go and collect Neela. After that I leave the instructions as to where is best to you as the more experienced one."

With that she turned, walking towards the cabin that Neela resided in. Waiting for Petrus so he could walk alongside her.

[Dapper Dog]

The cabin sat on a hill and there was a light inside but otherwise it was a quiet morning besides the wind and distant crash of waves.

[Petrus Karath]

Qareme had been looking out into the distance as Petrus approached, where the sun was starting to rise. She looked quite thoughtful, so as he spoke she turned as if she hadn't noticed him.

"Good morning. Thank you again for agreeing to this. I believe it will be of great help to Neela. I felt this location would be good for sketching also, remembering your words from before."

She turned back towards the cabin.

"Let us go and collect Neela. After that I leave the instructions as to where is best to you as the more experienced one."

With that she turned, walking towards the cabin that Neela resided in. Waiting for Petrus so he could walk alongside her.

Petrus joined her, lengthening his stride to keep up with the taller Padawan.

"Yeah, sure." Petrus said. "Whatever helps." He was silent for a few moments as she walked along.

"This is a little strange." He said mildly.

[Qareme Torth]

"Strange? How so?" Qareme asked as they drew close to the cabin, stopping a moment so Petrus could explain before they went on.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus paused, taking a deep breath. "The night before she... found herself again, she stormed my apartment building with a few stormtroopers. She arrested a few supposed dissidents, and was going to take them away. I found away to free them... but I was afraid." He lowered his head. "I'll admit it. It's something I struggle with."

He looked up. "Now when I see her... I don't feel afraid. But I remember when I did. And I know others feel the same, or worse."

Petrus shook his head with a sigh. "I think it's going to be a hard path ahead for her. For a lot of us."

[Qareme Torth]

Qareme turned to look at Petrus. She placed a hand on his shoulder, and gave him a smile.

"I can understand. It is why I did not press you before. You had to find your own way, as she now does. You do not walk alone, and she does not. Know that I believe in you and her, both of you can find your way as long as you hold onto your hope."

There was a pause, to allow Petrus to gather himself before she added "for now though, let us see how good you are as the teacher."

[Petrus Karath]

Slowly, Petrus nodded. "Thank you, Qareme. As always. I'll do my best." It was still a complicated swirl of emotions, but he felt that it was under control.

Reaching on, he knocked on the door.

[Qareme Torth]

Qareme allowed Petrus to lead. It was the right thing to do.

Or the cowardly thing.... she couldn't help but think briefly, quickly dispelling the thought.

[Dapper Dog]

Inside they can hear muffled sounds of conversation.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus frowned. "It sounds like she's busy. Is she expecting us?"

Without thinking about it, Petrus leaned forward a little, trying to recognize the voices.

[Dapper Dog]

A woman spoke loud enough for them to hear, "You can just come in, dear."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus frowned, looking at Qareme. "Which one of us is dear?" Probably him. It usually was.

With a shrug, he pushed the door open.

[Delia]

The interior is equally rustic with a light hanging from the ceiling. There was a room off a larger living area and a sleeping bag on the floor in the larger room next to a central hearth. On either side were two woman, one was Neela and the other a dark haired woman named Delia.

Delia continued, “Oh it is your guests, I apologize I get to talking and I lose track of time.”

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus, of course, recognized Delia. He'd met her at Juri's clinic... wow, that both seemed like a really long time ago, and not so long.

"Oh. Hey, Delia. I didn't expect to see you here." He blinked. "Uh... hey Neela. The two of you know each other?"

[Neela Takee]

"We live together," Neela said.

[Qareme Torth]

"It was unlikely to be me" she replied to his asking which of them was dear. As they opened the door, Qareme looked at the interior, then looked at the two women. She wasn't aware of the other one, having not really met her yet. However, she respectfully lowered her head to the two women.

"Good morning. Forgive us our interruption, if you are busy we can wait. I am certain Petrus can calm his excitement about sketching with us" there wa a small smile as she looked to Deila "I do not believe we have properly met. I am called Qareme."

[Delia]

Delia replied, "I am humbled, Master Jedi."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus cleared his throat. "Would you like to join our exercise, Delia? We were going to practice sketching. You'd be more than welcome to take part if you like." His lips quirked. "Or if you would enjoy having sketches done of you, we could try that, with your permission."

[Delia]

"A model? That sounds fun," she replied.

[Petrus Karath]

Smiling, Petrus nodded. "If you'd like to try it, it would be a nice exercise for all of us."

"Maybe..." He looked around the room, "-what about sitting in a chair, with a teacup held in your hands, in your lap. That should be comfortable, and I think would suit you nicely." Delia had a tranquility about her that Petrus didn't quite understand, but it seemed like this would fit.

[Delia]

She did as instructed and said, "I hope this is okay."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus smiled. "That will be perfect, thank you, Delia."

He handed a sketchpad to Neela with a sober nod. "Qareme, I know you have one, but I did bring an extra just in case." He offered it to her.

"Artists need to make themselves comfortable, too. Wherever you can." He waited until the whole assembly was seated. "Now, the first step, is to study your subject. I mean, really look at them. Sorry, Delia, I hope this isn't strange. But take note of everything about them. Every shape." Petrus did as he was instructing, studying Delia with a practiced eye.
