EM 7 - A Whole New World

[Elder Brother]

"You want the Inquisitors to pay for what they did to your people, we want the same thing," he said calmly.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

There's a flash of recognition behind Ru'ni's eyes, one he couldn't possibly hide. He'd thought of nothing else for the last few weeks, and the knife dipped ever so slightly.

"Neela." He hissed in disgust. "She needs to pay for her crimes."

[Elder Brother]

"We both agree Neela must pay for her crimes," he said calmly.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

He knows it's a bad idea. He heard all the tales growing up about how the Calm was corrupted by those tribesmen who made deals with the darkness for personal gain.

But this was different wasn't it? This wasn't a deal for power. Ru'ni wasn't really gaining anything out of it, he was avenging his people, he was righting a wrong.

The knife finds its way back into its sheath. "What did you have in mind?"

[Elder Brother]

"Find a way to lure her to me, then we'll both get what we want," he said.

"Vengeance."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Ru'ni mulls over the offer for a few moments, and eventually nods. "I need the goon squad off my back then, and tell them to leave the rest of my people alone too. That's my price."

He extends his hand in a gesture of agreement.

"Acceptable," he said said looking at the hand before he took and shook.

"Tomorrow then, the old enclave ruins, a poetic end to a murderous witch."

"Keep it watched, I can't guarantee what time I'll be able to get her there." Ru'ni added before turning to replace the stone for the dead drop.

"But you'll have your vengeance tomorrow, one way or another."

"This is your vengeance, Ru'ni, I am simply the weapon of choice," he said turning from Ru'ni and leaving.

Apparently free, for now, Ru'ni returned to some light shopping as he drew closer to the Bounty Hunter Office again.

He got his bow regripped and picked up a backpack to store his gear in as well as a commlink. The crew of the Wily Coyote had been at him for a while to pick one up. Apparently he wasn't the easiest guy to get in contact with.

Venator made a stop to sell some old gear and looked around about possibly renting a speeder before he decides to go check in at the bounty hunter guild. He spots an unfamiliar face by the office and tips his helmet at the newcomer. "Howdy pardner. You new 'round here?"

A Mandalorian, another victim of the Inquisitor, Ru'ni thought to himself as he was approached.

"Yeah, looking to register. Apparently it helps to have a license for this sort of work, rebuilding the Enclave and the slums ain't cheap."

He extends a hand. "Ru'ni Wayne, of the Orosini tribe."

[Venator Praedae]

Venator takes the hand and gives his a mighty shake. "Venador Praedae. Ya have any previous experience boundy hunding? I'll help ya regisder pardner."

He leads the Aznuri inside to get grid.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"Hunting, yes. Mostly animals, but tracking is tracking yes? And I can shoot straight, move quiet and stay alert."

Well, at least most of the time. Ru'ni thinks as he recalls his less than stellar efforts at stealth earlier this morning.

Venator nods. "Da is a good sdard. Hund'n people is very differend. People can be very dumb somedimes. Odher dimes, dey can be quide wily."

He leads Ru'ni over to the registration clerk. "Ya jusd dalk do de lil lady dere and she'll sed you up."

Ru'ni steps up and fills out the required forms and paperwork to apply for a license.

"So how long you been in this game then Venator?"

[Venator Praedae]

"Ya can say da I was born do hund. I officially began my career afder I finished my drain'n a couple years ago." Venator explains.

"I godda be honesd widya pardner. Boundy hund'n ain'd for everyone. Id can be a lonely life. Ya deal with more low lives dhan you may care doo." He warns.

"Dhough id does pay well. People wand'n revenge is purdy common of a reason do join doo. Plus de guild does have ids own code of honour." He lists the pros of man-hunting.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"Yes, revenge." Ru'ni replies fixating on that word for a moment.

"Maybe it won't be a career I can commit too, but it's something I might need to try before I can know for sure. We never know what we're capable of until we're tested right?"

[Venator Praedae]

Venator nods. "Drue da. So who ya wand'n revenge on? De Imps? De Empire is purdy big. May dake all yer life and ya only scradch de surface for yer revenge."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"All journeys start with a single step. But my sights aren't quite that big not all of the Empire knows about Bankor, and only a very few of them gave the order to raze my people's sanctuary here."

He smirks a little. "But I imagine there's not much profit in those sort of targets."

[Venator Praedae]

Venator nods. "Ya god da righd. Sdill de oppordunidy may come up."

A short pause before he decides to ask. "Oudda curisoudy. Ya wouldn'd have an idea on where an ex-Azunri by the name of Juba is hiding oud?"

"Yes, but I think it would oppose that Code of Honor to tell you. He is not a bad person, but did bad things to worse people."

Ru'ni stands firm in his position. "Are there not more...deserving targets than one who feeds the impoverished and the dispossessed with his paychecks?

[Venator Praedae]

"I can respecd ya honour'n yer Code. I already have an idea where do find him." Venator replies.

"I dun judge. I merely hund down marks. People dun pud boundies on marks jusd for fun. Every hunder has deir choice on which acquisishions dey wanna hund down." He comments and then pauses for a moment before continuing.

"If ya lisden do every sob sdory, ya'll find da people will lie and do anydh'n do ged away. Ya leave yerself open and ask'n do be killed. Da's de danger wid dis job. A momend of hesidashion can mean de difference in whedher ya live or die."
