[Day 7 - ME] Hey, hey it's the Monkey-Lizards!

"We're done with practice for the day - gonna be a busy day tomorrow, so don't get too hammered, but otherwise, have a good time."

He raised his mostly empty drink, finished it, and then set the glass down for a refill.

"I know Vaya, but not 'Floats.'"

He extended a hand "Flight Captain Djanik, at your service. I'm the one trying to knock these hotshots into formation."

“He’s the best pilot we have, between him and Veras we can take the whole Empire on,” she said honestly.

“Thanks sir, I won’t drink too much, I promise,” she said with a salute.

That brought a laugh, and Djanik added with a wink, "She's modest - but she's learned the first rule - talk nice when the boss is watching."

"Wait, that's a rule?" she said honestly.

"Can't promise I will," she said, thinking about all the things that it was better not to say. My brother's a Jedi, was one naturally, but at this point it was likely that Jurdak already knew that. Still, it served its purpose for the understanding, some things were just dangerous to say right now, still, despite the resistance and despite the help offered.

"However," she relented a bit, "I will try to keep you informed of what I can. Part of what I do now, huh?"

Dak gave her a critical eye for a moment "At some point this team thing will need to sink in Karath. Not saying I need to know the ins and outs of your personal life and all that but if it's something that can affect my team I want to know about it." And then like that his smile was back in place as he leaned back in his chair "We're all on the same side after all."

"Right," she took a moment, thought about it, looking around. "Yea, yea, I.. it's not what I'm used to, I'll try to be better about that. You won't not have information from me that might affect your team, I promise," she said, having looked back to him with what strength of will she could muster.

"So, to the rest of the night relaxing instead of talking work?" she said, raising the glass.

Dak chuckled and raised his as well "Sounds perfect to me." He took a drink "So how are you adjusting to life on base?"

"Cap'n," said Vaya, offering a sloppy salute with two fingers to her temple.

"Wait, that's a rule?" she said honestly.

"More like a guideline," said Vaya. She flicked her antennapalps to take in the whole crowd. "I can't imagine this lot is getting that formal that quickly. But, bosses and brown-nosing are galactic constants." She took another sip, and added, "Well, the anatomical details vary, but the point remains."

"I'm glad you're with me, Lyla." He said simply. "Other bounty-hunters may be a nuisance, as well as those of the Resistance who think they can play shadow games now. It may be smart to separate the Wall from his sister somehow when it's time to act."

He looked at her. "And your father, has he been looking for you? Can we expect his minions to intervene?"

Been lending a hand where I can, it's.. different, to have so many people around who need help now and again. Though I suppose it's not too different either, I used to help Xanna back in her kitchen in the slums when I could. Tried to give back where I could, ya know? Anyway, found a lot of that here, helped me distract myself and keep myself going."

On about his fifth glass, he wasn't counting, of something amber, spirited and possibly used in cleaning engines the Newsie was joined by two hovering droids. They bracketed him, one either side and just hovered at head level.

Taking a sip of his refilled drink, he savored the cold, luminescent red liquid, enjoying the bitter spicy and sour flavors warring on his tongue, before concluding, "I think we're shaping up pretty well, all the same. We've reached the point where we needed a name for the squad."

"Guess I'm still a Karath," she smirked, "brother can't have all of the good spirit in him, but he does have the most of it. Could never keep up with his willingness to sacrifice, or risk sacrifice, for others. It's like it's ingrained in him. I don't have that, think too much for it. Worry about the consequences, the risks, but.. well, sometimes he still convinces me otherwise. Has that habit of his, inspiring me to use a little less brain and a little more heart."

Finally Ria'la either heard the repulsorlifts or sensed the intense droid stares in his direction and turned to look at his two droids. Taking a, now rather unsteady, sip from his glass he glanced between them.

"What . . . ?"

Djanik glanced at the reporter. He knew those droid noises. He'd had one or two astromechs with opinions, back in the day.

"I should check..."

Making his way over to Ria'la, he took a seat opposite the reporter.

"Credit for your thoughts?"

"Hi there flyboy! Ah'm just wondering who decided to make these two mah Booze Police."

Dray beeped while Binky actually managed to make its repulsorlifts sound like a long suffering sigh.

"Well, I wasn't aware we had a day off tomorrow..."

He raised an eyebrow, "Unless we're drinking to something?"

Maxxy looks at everything going on and sips her water like a pro unsure of just what is happening.

Seeing that his chatting partner was busy with the concert and snack preparation, Astin offered her a polite nod before walking away.

"Talk to you later, Xanna " He offered easily as he went.

"Well, I wasn't aware we had a day off tomorrow..."

He raised an eyebrow, "Unless we're drinking to something?"

That brought a blinked response as Ria'la processed it.

"A day off?"

<Master does not have day off tomorrow. Master has full schedule. Databanks show Master is ingesting too much alcohol for his weight again.> came the montone from Binky.

Dray's blast of binary was a bit more emphatic about the point.
