[Day 7 - MM] Resistance Meeting [Closed]

[Djanik]

"A little unfocused - expensive... but strong by unit, yes."

He sighed. "With a few more years, we would've worked out the maintenance issues too - but they got phased out in favor of the TIEs."

[Dove Gray]

"Trust me, I know TIE fighters. I flew one for a while."

He shrugged. "It's going to depend on what comes - last I heard the Mon Cal didn't have a huge navy lying around - so I won't get too excited. We're going to be fighting uphill, either way - not willing to let my guard down just because I'll have some backup."

"Excuse me," Dove cleared her throat. It was kind of hard to not hear some things in the room. "But I was under the impression that Dac was one of the premier shipyards and with some of the most skilled starship designers in the Republic...? Has something changed to change this?" she asked with some concern in her tone.

[Djanik]

"Last I heard, they were focused on civilian star liners. Kuat won a lot of the contracts during the war, and the confederates hit Mon Cal pretty hard..."

He shrugged. "I don't doubt they've got some ships, but doubt they have free access to the entire shipyards to churn out capital ships without drawing unwanted attention."

Glancing at Dove, he added, "If they've got heavy cruisers... I won't say no to them, that's for certain. Without more information, I won't assume the best case scenario, however..."

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

"Cruise ships. That's what Dac has spent the last decade building. Luxury liners and the like."

He'd been listening to every conversation at once it seemed.

[Djanik]

Djanik nodded. "Yeah, that's what it was."

Scratching his chin, he added, "Real pretty ones, at that. All smooth lines and curves - none of the hard edged menace from a typical warship."

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

"Adverts for them all over the galaxy. Selling their high end experiences to the discerning Imperial Citizen. How I came across them."

He kept on making notes.

[Djanik]

"Huh. Always out of my budget."

He shrugged. "I'm still sad I didn't get to cash in my paid leave with the Navy before I 'died'."

[Dove Gray]

"I see. My knowledge of Mon Cal shipyards must be out of date, then," she shrugged. Such was the life when networks collapsed in the wake of a war. Not all news reached her that readily.

[Djanik]

He chuckled, "Well, you weren't wrong, they just aren't putting guns on them. Apart from that, they're lovely ships. If you ever want a vacation, we've just heard a good place to go."
