[Day 7 - ME] Hey, hey it's the Monkey-Lizards!

Vaya looked at Maxxy, impressed.

"Wow, you went from a three to a six like that," and she snapped her fingers. "I think we have to call the bet on account of intereference, Floats, but the next round's on me so there's no hard feelings."

"Yeah, that was definitely cheating, y'all can't just go around at people to kiss outside of Mardi Gras."

[Djanik]

Djanik was most of the way through the dramatic moment, almost making his point, almost managing to keep his composure.

Then Maxxy yelled for him to kiss the reporter.

He couldn't help but laugh, a sincere laugh, releasing tension from his shoulder, followed by a sidelong glance at Maxxy, along with Vaya who almost certainly had put her up to it, he said, with surprising composure, "It seems someone is putting ideas in the head of my pilots."

Shaking his head bemusedly, he added, "No offense, Ria'lu, but you nailed it on the head when you said I bat for a different team... you're a handsome man, but I'm afraid that ain't my type."

Setting the glass down, he asked, "You think you'll be ok, or should I call Rayne?"

He was a brilliant indigo, but he had tried to be courteous and avoid making anyone feel uncomfortable.

This was so much harder than facing down a squadron of TIE ln fighters - at least there he knew how to comport himself.

[Astin Denive]

The yell for two people to kiss got Astin's attention and his eyes turned towards the woman that had been complaining about him earlier. Moments later they landed on Ria'la and the horribly blushing Pantoran.

Well, at least that was entertaining. Making his way to the bar, he ordered another beer, his eyes moving towards the three female cheerleaders for a moment, a mischievous gleam in his eyes. Floats was going to find a different kind of pornography in her in box in the morning.

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

"I think these two nanny-bots will make sure I get back to my bunk."

He stood, just a little unsteadily and not really helped by both droids trying to support him.

"Oh cut it out you two. I only had six. Straight lines are out but I can manage a meandering curve without falling over."

He grinned at the purple hued Pantoran and then narrowed his eyes.

"Or was it seven? Bah, who cares?"

The bartender cared, but Ria'la always paid so they were not concerned. With a flip to get his hair out of his face Ria'la took a slow and 'honest not a test' step and patted Djanik on the arm.

"Plenty of room in my bunk if you change your mind, Flyboy."

[Djanik]

Djanik chuckled.

"If I meet anyone else on your team, I'll introduce you."

With a faint smile, he added, "I hope you get some rest, Ria'lu."

Then he rose, glancing at Maxxy, "Besides, I need to talk some sense into my poor squaddie, who knows what they've been telling her."

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

Vaya patted Maxxy on the arm. "Well, the live music's done, and it looks like there might about to be consequences for our actions, so I think it's time for a retreat in good order. See you around, kid." She squeezed Floats' arm in farewell, giving her an impressed look and mouthing Nice! when she actually felt the size of the muscle.

She abandoned Maxxy to her fate, and went off to see if Trion was hanging around.

[Dapper Dog]

Trion grabbed a drink and seemed content all things considered.

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

Ria'la made his exit, but not without a good look at the Pantoran's behind as he walked away. The two droids hovering close like they expected him to fall over at any moment.

Djanik missed the glance, approaching Maxxy and Vaya.

Seeing Vaya abandon her poor student in harassment, he rolled his eyes. Taking the seat she had vacated, he stated, flatly. "I'm afraid I will not be, in fact, kissing our reporter friend."

Setting his drink down with a soft thud, he added, "I worry at what she must have told you."

[Dapper Dog]

"Nothing, really," she said finishing her water. "Just seemed like something funny to say."

[Djanik]

Djanik gave her a raised eyebrow. "You can't go hassling Astin if you're going to catcall your squadron leader, Miss Maxxy."

Taking another drink, he smiled, "Just remember, we're all taking our own paths through this twisted universe - and we all have our own ways of talking about it."

Giving her a gentle poke in the shoulder, he added, "And for the record, I don't make a habit of kissing men."

[Dapper Dog]

Djanik gave her a raised eyebrow. "You can't go hassling Astin if you're going to catcall your squadron leader, Miss Maxxy."

Taking another drink, he smiled, "Just remember, we're all taking our own paths through this twisted universe - and we all have our own ways of talking about it."

Giving her a gentle poke in the shoulder, he added, "And for the record, I don't make a habit of kissing men."

“Do you know what a catcall is?” she said looking at him adjusting her glasses.

“Because I have been catcalled and that wasn’t it, it was obnoxious to be sure but uh… not that. I figured you didn't kiss men, which is what made it so funny. If I hurt your feelings I am sorry, it was just some honest ribbing but if you are offended then it went too far.”

[Djanik]

Djanik patted her shoulder.

"I think we all have different ideas of what is too much."

Raising his drink, he added, "I'm not offended. I try to be forgiving, as a rule, but I was trying to break him out of his funk. Hopefully a good laugh might have managed that."

Taking a swig, he grimaced, and added, "But for what it is worth, we all like when the people we like flirt with us, and hate it when the people we don't want to flirt with us... well... do. I've been on both sides of that, so I guess I get how it feels for both parties."

A little shrug. "Either way, I'm probably too busy for love these days. Where will I fit that between teaching a crew of fresh nuggets how to keep from diving their ships into the nearest flat surface, fixing those ships when they do, and fraternizing with my fellow sapients?" A wry smile showed he wasn't being too serious, and his tone was that of a stately man, almost comically so.

[Dapper Dog]

"Uh-huh," she said trying to follow along.

[Djanik]

Rolling his eyes, he clapped her on the back and said, simply. "Don't worry about it, is all I'm saying."

Finishing his drink, he set the glass down, and added, "We're all just making it up as we go along."

Rubbing at his temples, he added, "... and I reminded myself that I have a briefing to prepare tonight. I suppose I should get going..."

[Dapper Dog]

"Well I hope you have a good night, sir. Punch that briefing in the nethers!" she replied warmly.

"Choke it out if you have too," she said pantomiming choking someone.

[Djanik]

Djanik coughed, trying to compose himself.

"Right. I'll do... some of... not that, but something."

"Yes."

Glancing at her drink, he hoped she hadn't been getting into too much herself.

Glancing helplessly at Floats he shrugged, and then made his own /exit toward the command center.

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

Trion grabbed a drink and seemed content all things considered.

Vaya approached Trion.

"Hey! Great set. I haven't seen you since that night after the Nerf," when she'd helped the band find the connections to vanish, "and then I saw the posters. How'd the whole thing turn out?"

[Dapper Dog]

"It was a rough, we got some protection from the Disciple which helped... but then you owe a crime boss so not great," she said honestly.

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

Vaya nodded. "You do what you gotta do, right? Are you free and clear now? You know, besides..." she waved her beverage around to generally take in being guilty by association with a base full of outlaws and insurgents.

[Dapper Dog]

"I am already in bed with a criminal and wanted by the Empire, it really can't get worse," she said with a laugh.

"I mean it could but well, life goes on."

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

"Yeah..." Vaya lowered her voice and focused all of eyes, ears, and antennapalps on her, trying to see where she was at. "Have you given any thought to leaving Bankor? Either with malice aforethought, or just making sure your band and your instruments have a designated place on an evacuation ship?" She'd initially gravitated towards the woman because of the music, but now she felt vaguely big-sisterly about the woman. The music was still a part of it, though -- she hated the idea of all that talent and spirit wiped out in some pointless siege.

[Dapper Dog]

"Where would I go, this is my home, I don't want to start over elsewhere," she said taking a drink. "the people here are not fighting because they want to leave."

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

Vaya finished her own drink, and grimaced. "Yeah, I guess you've got a point there." She put down her empty glass, and didn't signal for another. "Then the other part -- unless you've signed up under someone specific, you might not be on anyone's list of people to get out safe if we have to leave the Sword in a hurry. Places like this run on lists. If they're doing it right." She was, again, hatefully reminded of how old everyone here made her feel. And sound, apparently.

[Dapper Dog]

"My fate will be with Bankor, with Rygor, with my friends and family here," she said after a moment of thought.

"I think, no, I know that's right for me."
