"Ah. Well, that is fine; I would like that too. Are you perhaps a philosopher then? Or a driver?"

She was looking at him curiously now, having turned away from the stars.

[Daunt]

"A killer mostly. Though not of you. You're way too good a companion." He said it with a tone of a florist, looking back at her with his molten uranium eyes. "Guess thinking about life and death a lot makes one a bit of a philosopher."

[Elaranu]

"I suppose... are you a killer for hire then? An assassin, I believe is the word, no?"

[Daunt]

"I can be called like that, but this seems glorified. More like a hitman for a criminal syndicate with some penchant for independence." He said honestly, making it sound ordinary.

[Elaranu]

"Believe me, no glorification is intended. Merely curiosity. I hold no particular love or hate for such things. But I also know relatively little about them."

[Daunt]

"It's just one of those jobs you don't speak about much when you go on a date unless it's someone from the industry." He chuckled. "Cartels fight for turf between themselves, or with the authorities, vying for control of key resources and black market access. It involves effectuating terror and death over the unwilling to comply, most of the time. I am relatively good at delivering both."

[Elaranu]

"Well I am here on work, remember? Diversions aside. I was more asking about such things in a professional manner. Especially if you are as good as you say you are."

[Daunt]

"I'm good." He said without false modesty. "I've done several high-profile hits and lived to tell the tale. Is there a professional offer following from a professional question?"

[Elaranu]

"I mean, as professional as I can be; My employer needs somebody's dues, which is why I was out here. To gather information. They asked me to take care of things, but... well, frankly, I am just an engineer and scholar. I know nothing about information gathering or pressing people outside of an academic setting."

[Daunt]

"I may be of use in this regard. I know how to press. Who do you want to press?"

[Elaranu]

"That is the hardest part; I do not know. I know they are a Mandalorian, but I have no name. Thus why I was following up on my lead from that Mandolorian in Rygor."

She had not once thought Ven could have been her target, a product of her upbringing and experiences.

[Daunt]

"Tough luck. I guess you need to get some intel back in Rygor before you go hiking for clues."

[Elaranu]

A shrug, "If I can be honest with you? I do not care much about this vendetta. I owe my employer, that is for certain. But that does not mean his personal grudges have much interest to me if I do not feel they effect me personally. I may just tell him I could not find enough information to collect on his debt. Maybe next time he will think about sending someone more qualified too."

[Daunt]

He smirked. "Guess there's no special link between you and your boss, especially if you're sent on odd jobs you have no heart for. Collection isn't that easy, granted. Certainly not from a Mandalorian. His back is usually had by others of his kind."

[Elaranu]

"Yes, that makes sense. As to my relationship with my boss... Well, he paid of old debts. Debts with a lot of meaning. So I owe him big. That does not mean I always see eye to eye with him. Anyways, the sun is gone, unfortunately."

Even the bands of twilight were fading in the distance at this point.

[Daunt]

"Can't you get enough money to be a free woman?" He mused. "Anyways, I guess it's your way of saying the stargazing party is over?"

[Elaranu]

She actually chuckled at that, "Well, I would like to get back to Rygor in time for a good night's rest. But the timings of such things.... let us just say it id a shame the sky is so clear and dark out here."

[Daunt]

"You have a driver for the night so it's at your leisure now." He smirked and traded his look between her and the stars.

[Elaranu]

"Well... perhaps a compromise could be had, and you could take the slow, scenic route? You do seem to know the area well enough."

[Daunt]

"Let's do that then. We'll take the heights overlooking the Jaklu Coast so you'll have a better view of the starlit cliffs and ocean. Sounds good? If so, buckle up."

[Elaranu]

A soft smirk, "Should I be worried you will get into an accident? I thought you were better than that."

Ela buckled up regardless of her teasing.

[Daunt]

"It's more that if you're awestruck you can fall off." He replied smoothly, then revved the engine before jolting onto a new scenic route.
