Out of the Way. (Day 7 Early Night)

[Jurdak Surt]

He shrugged "I wouldnt say I dont trust them most of them seem to have their hearts in the right place. I just dont agree with how they've handled this situation so far."

"I wouldnt go so far as to call them a cancer yet but I just think we need to learn from the clone wars. They should be included in the decision making process but not all the generals and leadership should fall just on their shoulders."

[Astin Denive]

He nodded, Astin could deal with that kind of thinking at least for the moment. "Alright then, that seems pretty reasonable."

"It does mean whoever is in charge needs to make sure they aren't making decisions on their own though. Or is willing to take responsibility when they do."

Dak nodded back "Yeah, I know for my department they likely wont be involved much but hopefully Yusandr will keep them from running things. Might have to talk to her about it though. She does seem quite enamored with this Force stuff."

[Astin Denive]

"You're right there." It was always 'the force is on our side' or 'may the force be with you' with her, as much good as that did.

"Sometimes I wonder if these people actually understand how the force works. I mean could be there just isn't one force, maybe two or more, and the different ones are fighting for dominance."

"Maybe the force is in both sides, ya know what I mean."

"There are at least two sides of it from what I understand. The dark and the light. Though those names seem too simple ya know? Just seems too binary for me. Like I've heard that the light side is all compassion and peace and serenity and all that. The dark side is all emotion and passion and anger but like what about passionately defending the weak? What about righteous anger for the fallen? I dont know just seems too absolute." He said taking another small sip as he spoke.

[Astin Denive]

"That still says it's all just one thing though, and if that's the case there is likely a middle ground." At least probably. "One that let's you date a person without becoming a creepy stalker if you break up."

There was a moments pause. "Well at least that's how Floats described to me how the light side works."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak thought for a bit "Yeha makes sense I guess. Is that really their fear with dating? I thought it had to do with loss drawing them to the darkside or whatever." Dak had asked about it a little bit during his mission with a jedi and she explained it to him but he honestly couldnt remember most of what she said.

[Astin Denive]

"I think that probably closer to the truth, that it brings em closer to the darkside and darkside people tend to be crazy stalkers." He shook his head once again repeating his new mantra. You don't date force girls.

"Either way, it's not like the jedi order taught them how to deal with that sort of thing. They figured that just avoiding temptation and sin altogether was the best way to keep them pure. It's what makes them all come off as kids."

"They never really had to grow up and learn how to deal with adult problems like adults."

"Yeah I suppose I could see that, they do seem to come off as a bit younger than they really are." Probably why Petrus had so much trouble with people calling him kid and such.

"Makes you wonder if there is a better way to deal with them than just the same old thing that seems to be what they are going for."

[Astin Denive]

"I'd think so, as old as the jedi order was. Well, they probably got stuck in a certain way of thinking." It was a easy way to do.

."if the older folk can keep from fucking it up, might be the can come up with something better."

"But do they even want to come up with something new? I mean from everything I've seen so far they seem to have fallen into the same pattern from before. I'm not expert on this stuff but they seem to be clinging to that old order." Dak gave it a shrug. "Dunno but I feel like something will have to give at some point."

"Any way enough tearing this thing down, we can bitch till the nerfs come home but only time will tell. Have you actually enjoyed anything on Bankor so far?"

[Astin Denive]

"Likely not, I figure most of them are afraid, so they cling to the past as it's what they know." He took another sip of his whiskey then shook his head.

"Not much, no races worthwhile, a few decent bars. The Imps have more or less ruined those though." He caused to think things over. "A few decent views, but most of the women seem to leave something to be desired."

"Yeah Bankor was a bit nicer before the imps really dug their claws into the place. Still a boring back water planet but it was definitely nicer."

Dak stifled a laugh thinking about Astins last point "Well Mr. Denive you must certainly have a high taste in women if not a one on Bankor has caught your eye."

[Astin Denive]

"Oh, I'm not saying they aren't pretty a lot of them are that." He took a sip of whiskey. "Most of them just seem to be looking for love or something serious in what might soon be a warzone." He shook his head. "Which is fine, it's just like they don't know how to have fun and to live in the moment."

"I suppose that's more then a problem with me then with them though."

Dak shrugged "Eh I wouldnt say either side is 'wrong' or has a 'problem' just different stroke for different folks I suppose. Though I guess maybe war isnt the place to try and find love."

[Astin Denive]

"That waa pretty much my thoughts in the matter." Astin replied with a shrug.

"Love, marriage, and all that stuff is for after I'm done running around trying to overthrow galactic governments."

"Ahh got a plan to be a family man someday?" He asked with a grin "looking for the woman that'll make an honest man out of the constantly flirtatious Astin Denive?" It was an interesting thought but he could see it.

"Never really saw that kind of future for myself honestly."

[Astin Denive]

Astin eyed Dak for a moment. "I'd wager you'll settle down one of these days." Picking up the whiskey bottle he offered some to The other man.

"As for me, yeah probably one of these days. Though I'm not wagering it will be anytime soon. Mostly cause I can't open my mouth without a lady thinking I'm flirting with them, and that type of thing upsets girlfriends."

Dak took a little drink feeling a bit loosened up at this point "Eh never much felt like dragging a woman into this mess." He said pointing to his head "life time of intrigue and plotting is great for field work not so good for relationships. Constant suspicion and an inability to trust people tends to put a damper on any serious romance." Not to mention more personal issues like women being freaked out when the find the blaster under his pillow or he wakes up in a rush after the nightmares.

"I have heard women tend to not like when their partner flirts around. But I'm sure you could find the right woman that understands that it's not all that serious." He said taking another small drink and passing the bottle back.

[Astin Denive]

"Same goes for you honestly." Astin offered with a soft chuckle, as he recalled his glass. "If there is one out there for me, like as not there is one for everyone who wants one."

"But then again, that doesn't mean that we will find em. It's a big galaxy out there, and if there is just the one lady out there for us. Well it's best we get a hobby or something, because we'll be a while looking."

Dak was quiet for a bit thinking about the conversation he had with Dove just recently "Maybe, just maybe." He said thoughtfully another pause and then a smile "Well let's hope that in a galaxy this big theres more than one woman who can put up with us yeah?"

[Astin Denive]

That brought s smirk to his lips. "It'd be nice, but I'm not counting on it." Astin replied jokingly.

"But yeah, back to the topic. Think I'm looking forward to the idea of leaving Bankor." It was just a little bit too much like home.

[Jurdak Surt]

"Fair enough, think you might link up with this bigger rebellion that's forming when you leave? Or other you have other plans?"

[Astin Denive]

"Depends on a few things honestly." Not least of all was what his crew wanted to do. "But maybe. Though personally I'd say I'm a bigger fan of small teams." Far less politics.

"Just like your people doing their own thing and maybe assisting the larger whole without having to deal with all the stuff that comes with being part of a bigger thing?"
