[D9 MA - intel training room] Gotta Stay Sharp (OPEN)

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak finished his relaxing beach time and decided to get a quick work out in before doing serious planning, intel review, equipment check, and all the other things that needed to be done before the op.

He wore loose fitting black shorts and a tight black athletic top as he went through a bunch of exercises push ups situps the basics. Just trying to keep his heart rate up and give his muscles a good warning up.

[Daunt]

Workout was something not only Dak would do. Daunt was also up for some reinvigorating exertion and was quite glad to see his partner-in-crime there.

"I regard the stories of your blindness were overrated, partner." He chuckled. "Getting ready for action, I see."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak had been doing some pull ups when he heard Daunt enter. He dropped down and brushed his hands off "Yeah well they wouldnt be without Juri and her weird force stuff. She save my eyes and made them good as new."

"And yeah just keeping it loose and getting the blood moving before tonight, gonna hit the Dictator and hopefully actually strike a real blow against the empire. They say this Lord Vader will even be there it's going to be wild and chances are there will be some of us making a one way trip."

[Daunt]

"She's quite a miracle worker." And yet even a miracle couldn't have helped us, he thought.

He was about to go on the bench when the V-word was dropped. He froze with a weird expression. "Vader will be there...? How can you know that?"

[Jurdak Surt]

"We dont know for certain but we are basically taking down the empire's biggest advantages tonight. Their number one brute and enforcer will almost certainly show up." Dak said and noted the zabrak's weird expression "why? is Vader of particular interest to you?"

[Daunt]

"I might be of some interest to him." He shuddered as if awoken. "You saw me with a lightsabre, Dak. And yet I am not a Jedi, nor do I aspire to be."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak paused for a bit "I remember seeing it, I was going to ask about where you got it, was it from Vader? What is your tie to him?"

[Daunt]

"I won't tell you where and how I got it. I am a Nightbrother of Dathomir and this is a reason enough for me to weild it. But I don't serve the Empire, and I am unsure of the connection. I fought him once in a vision of sorts. Maybe this is my fate?"

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak raised an eyebrow "I didnt think the nightbrothers typically fought with lightsabers as well as the sith and jedi." He was no expert on their culture but he was under the impression those two groups were the only ones who regularly used lightsabers.

"Cant say I believe much in fate, which might be stupid given everything that's happened but it is what it is."

[Daunt]

"Dathomir has a Force tradition and I am sensitive with the Force. Not all brothers are. Your marvel at Juri's witchcraft even though her insights come from contact with the Dark Side. Taking up a lightsabre is my expression of the path I've chosen. If someone thinks I don't deserve to wield it, I let them come at me to take it away." He commented without malice, finally starting to lift. "I am not a believer in fate too much either. But I also know that I don't know many things, so I give myself some space to doubt and be surprised."

[Jurdak Surt]

"Keeping in mind I know next to nothing about the force I dont believe it can be so binary as light side good dark side bad. Like you say Juri uses her gifts, which are connected to the darkside, to heal people like she did for me. And trust me Daunt I have no intention of trying to take your saber away I was merely curious."

[Daunt]

"I think you're right about that. And yet almost everyone is crazy about the Jedi vs. Sith duopoly and their special rights to have their sacred showdowns in privileged ways." Daunt kept lifting. It wasn't drawing too much sweat from him yet, nor was it pausing the conversation. "Honestly, I don't really know what you're about either, partner. Crimson Dawn is something you've been doing, not who you are, that's much is certain."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak shrugged "Crimson Dawn is something I did because I had to to survive. For a good while that is what I was a about, surviving, for some reason. Not for any grand purpose just to do it, just to see tomorrow. With my skill set you have a limited number of options on how to use it and seeing as I was an enemy of the state couldnt Really do anything legal, so crime it was, and Crimson Dawn was just a bit better than working for the Hutts."

Dak paused "now?" He looked around "I think I've found real purpose again." He motioned broadly "I think I'm about fighting the Empire now. I've seen them take too much from too many. Should have been on this train a long time ago honestly."

He looked to hoisting zabrak "What of you? Are you still Crimson Dawn through and through?"

[Daunt]

"Nope. It's over for me as well. Time to carve a new path." Daunt said curtly, and his face darkened. "If anything, I am on their bad side now."
