Time Out Take Out (D1, Mid-Evening, Mia/Dove apt)

[Dove Gray]

"Mahon and I jam together sometimes," she nodded to her guitar. Well, that wasn't the whole truth of it, of course, but Dove did like to live dangerously and do dangerous things. Like for the Resistance.

Dove helped herself to a mouthful of noodles, pausing long enough in talking to chew and swallow. "Oh, that's good stuff."

"Anyway, it's good that you're doing something. Finding your feet on the ground again, stuff like that. Life is more than just hiding and hoping they'll never find you, because if we're all doing that, well... then we lose, right? Of course, still be careful and cautious and all."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Aren't you the one who is supposed to advise caution due to all your spy stuff?" Mia asked, "Not like I know how to keep my head down after I get myself into trouble."

[Dove Gray]

"Am I?" Dove wiggled her eyebrows before shoving another mouthful of noodles into her mouth. Another pause for chew and swallow. "Like, yeah, stay safe and careful, but I don't think I know how to advise either of you two on how to live normal lives."

She shrugged. "Besides, you didn't seem to mind too terrible our little excursion earlier, hon."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus sighed. "Yeah. I know. I mean... sure, I wanted to do stuff. I just..." He paused a moment, his lips moving, "-couln't." It wasn't the best explanation, but it was the best he could do.

"Right, normal lives." He chuckled. "I'm starting to think that no one really has one."

He shoveled a generous portion of noodles into his mouth. "Mmph. Mmm. So come on, your turn. What were the two of you up to? Give me a one to ten on the trouble scale."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Well, we almost got taken to some fun getaway camp that people don't get to go back home after summer is done, so yeah." Mia shrugged. "Things usually seem to work out and I wasn't going to be afraid on that speeder. But that doesn't mean I'm looking to repeat that situation."

[Dove Gray]

"There's rumor going around about some top-secret high-security camp out in the desert. A place for valuable prisoners." Dove's chopsticks clicked together a couple of times as she talked. "A list of names passed by me quickly, too fast to get any real detail, but I am almost certain I saw someone I recognized on it... someone who I know doesn't deserve to rot away in a hole somewhere."

"I had to get on that transport to find out more... and well, that became an adventure in itself."

"Wait did you get us caught on purpose? I figured it was because of our ties to the Tython Run."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus' chewing slowed. "I didn't know transports went out to high security camps. News to me. What exactly did you...?" Mia answered his question a moment later.

"You were caught?" Petrus' free hand tightened on his chair. "What happened? Did they, what's the word, process you? Pictures and prints and everything?" Did Dove have fingerprints? He'd never noticed...

"Well, I got caught on purpose. Wasn't my plan to let you get caught too, hon, but they seemed to be eager to round up the whole block." Dove actually looked a little sheepish.

"And no, no process, kid. I suspect they were going to do that at our destination, that we never got to. Since we had a reenactment of the Great Escape before even getting there. Which was fine - too many good people on that transport, like Mia here, who didn't deserve to go there."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus sighed, rubbing one hand across his face. "Okay. Good. Whew. Okay. You had me worried there for a second. If something happened..." His lips pressed together a moment, until he parted them for a sip of soda. Mmm. Fizzy. Petrus' sudden swings into sadness would not be new to the two ladies.

After a moment, he managed a smile again. "Wow, okay. So, did you free everyone? And did you find what you were looking for?"

Dove took the moment of silence for a refreshing sip of Nuka Cola herself.

"A mixed yes. Yes, everyone on the transport got away safely. I didn't find all I was looking for, but found some clues. It's a place to start, and from there plan a real job into the place."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Next time, tell me about the plan," Mia sighed, "But hey, kid, did they get anything on you? Might be handy for you to know how to get outta there too if you're on a speeder."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus shook his head. "Nope. No name or anything like that, anyway.". He grimaced. "I guess that bad captain saw my face, but oh well. Better me and Xanna than just Xanna."

[Dove Gray]

"Eh, sounds like this captain sees a lot of faces. Feel free to point him out to me if we come across him some other time. I'll put him straight." It was unclear if she meant to sweet-talk him, or just dump his corpse in a back-alley dumpster.

Neither option was unlikely for Dove.

"Sounds like you and Xanna get along well?"

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus nodded. "Yeah. That might be a good idea.". He said. It wasn't clear which of the two approaches he meant, either.

He nodded again, smiling this time. "Yeah. Really well. Do you know her? You should meet her if you don't.". He paused to slurp noodles.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Met her earlier today. Cute girl," Mia answered. She chomped on her food and then peered at Petrus.

"Crush?"

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus blinked. That went a little too fast for him.

"What?" He paused, noodles halfway to his mouth.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"You keep talking about the girl. Xanna this, Xanna that. Plus she is cute, so, you know." Mia leaned back and smirked. "But if it makes no difference to you, then I could flirt with her."

[Petrus Karath]

Reddening, Petrus groaned. "Mia!" Snatching up a pillow from the couch, he tossed it at her; very carefully, so as to not spill food.

Still red, he took a quick swig of soda. "Yeah, I guess I have been talking about her. And she is cute; gorgeous, even. And brave."

He pressed his lips together a moment. It was a secret, but Mia and Dove were his closest friends. And had helped other Jedi. "And... she's like me. You know..." He gave a vague, mysterious wave of his hand.

[Dove Gray]

"Someone who likes to wave her hands, huh," Dove chuckled and picked up a napkin to wipe the hot noodle-sauce from her face.

She gave a look to Mia, and then to Petrus. "I think you should totally go for it. Sounds like a good thing for both of you to do."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Sounds like a good role model," Mia said. She looked over to Dove and shrugged. "They grow up so fast, huh?"

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus chuckled, shaking his head. "I'm older than you... I know, I know, I'm The Kid."

He stirred his noodles around a bit. "We'll see. I'm gonna see her tomorrow."

His expression turned more serious. "You ever hear anything about an Inquisitor?"

[Dove Gray]

"Yeah, trust me when I say age don't matter," she snorted and stirred her noodles around some more. Age was rather irrelevant to someone like her.

"..." that gave her pause and she fixed Petrus with a serious look. "All I know is that they're bad news. Why?"

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"You are?" Mia looked over to Dove and shrugged. They had surely gone over this before but it still came as a shock to the tall blonde.

"Yeah, they're like the big baddies in those holovids you keep watching." She then blinked a few times. "Don't tell me one of them saw your face."

[Petrus Karath]

"No.". Petrus said. He set his noodles down, three-quarters finished; Petrus was a fast eater.

"But I've heard one is coming. And that they try to turn..." He waved his hand again, "-people like me."
