[D10ME] Warrior's Beach

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

Astin took the flask and sniffed it before taking a nip and passing it back.

"She had some that said she's forty five, checked em the last time she came by." Astin lied with a casual shrug.

Vaya nodded, her lips pursed judiciously. "Checks out. She's clearly in an advanced state of decrepitude."

"I do." Elgin said, pointing his blaster at her. "But if you die... then I'll never be born."

"Time paradox! Drink!" Vaya's shout carried over the beach.

[Astin Denive]

"Oh, I don't go commenting on a ladies age. On the outside she might be a fresh faced teenager, and on the inside some ancient spinster with a love of fuzzy animals." Astin offered with a shrug.

The call to drink was greeted with a raised eyebrow, but he poured himself some more bourbon and took a drink. "I think the Doctor here is trying to get us drunk Ria'la."

[Xanna Teevou]

Watching the latest installment Xanna was about to comment on the time travel plotline but then realised that a) it made Petrus happy, and b) Liua was kind of a time traveler too. She smiled and continued serving drinks and ribs.

"I think he is now going to shoot her, but it turns out that his gun, it is an amnesia ray."

[Zerras Blume]

Zerras sat and listened. It was hard to follow, but it certainly sounded exciting and fun.

Aaliq, the Caamasi, clutched at her head. The vial of mega-rancor blood, now empty, tumbled from her fingers, a drop of the blood still visible on her lips.

"No! It's too much!" She wailed. "I remember... everything! I can see where time diverges!" She turned to Dacen. "You must go, now, if you want to save them. Your wife, your son... and your daughter!"

Dacen blinked. "My... son? And my daughter?" His jaw tightened, his bare pecs flexing with manly resolve. Without another word, he jumped onto his speeder-bike, the engine howling as he sped off.

"But wait..." Aaliq said, falling to her knees. "You can't save all of them..."

"Wait, who's the daughter?" Petrus said, frowning. He looked around. "Does anyone know who the daughter is?" He frowned. "It's not the Nautolan, right?" His tone lacked confidence that it was not, in fact, the Nautolan.

"Think I saw a few episodes when I was a kid." If it was what he was thinking of. "I trust it's every bit as bad as the title sounds?"

"Wait, who's the daughter?" Petrus said, frowning. He looked around. "Does anyone know who the daughter is?" He frowned. "It's not the Nautolan, right?" His tone lacked confidence that it was not, in fact, the Nautolan.

"Well, it wouldn't be able to be the Nautolan," she said. "I wouldn't think. Why would she list all three if he couldn't save all of them?" She looked a little confused. "Wait, what if Elgin's a younger sibling? And the one she's pregnant with right now is the daughter?"

Dak had settled somewhere eventually and sat watching the tv with his tail flicking idly behind him as he watched. He wasnt really 100% sure what was happening but he enjoyed the show for what it was.

[Venator Praedae]

"IT's a show where this girl travels back in time and hooks up with a Mandalorian Clan. There's all sorts of drama and interclan dynamics and someone might be someone else's kid secretly and that kind of stuff," she replied.

Venator is silent for a moment and just tilts his head. "Sounds more confus'n dan a pack of cads died by deir dails."

When the show starts he sits next to Sacha and watches on. "Okay... is dis like a game I heard 'boud. Where de daughder of de king comes back from de fudure and den hooks up widh de main characder who is de advisor do de king? Den id durns oud dad some crazy shadow space sorceror endidy has been mess'n wid de dimeline?" He asks after they postulate and compare their theories.

He continues to munch of bbq as he watches the show unfold.

Daunt was very confused by the show. Surely it'd have more sense if he had seen prior episodes. With how things were, he needed help in getting things explained. TV tropes and typical plot twists were well above him grade.

[Petrus Karath]

"RAAAAAARGH!" Dacen game his trademark yell as he rushed at Elgin, launching a series of powerful blows, mixed punches and kicks. The choreography was actually pretty good. Although a few landed, Elgin deflected most of them, culminating with catching Dacen's arm, and hurling him across the temple, smashing him through the statue of a helmeted but otherwise nude Mandalorian warrior.

Jaina attacked next, and while her first spinning backfist caught Elgin across the face, her next series of spinning attacks were all defeated. His return backhand sent her sprawling. "You can't defeat me!" He said, spreading his arms wide. "I have the Warrior's Heart and the First Mandalore's essence! You can't stop me from absorbing them here. You'll die, but I can return to my own time, and I'll have the power to save our clan from the Order of Dantos!" His tone was anguished.

Dacen rose to his feet, groaning. "You won't. I'll stop you. My son." He growled. "And now I know your style. It's mine, and Jaina's. We trained you together. And we'll defeat you together!"

All sound was replaced by sad string music as parents fought time-traveling son. Also one of the parents was a time traveler."

"Wait, if he absorbs the First Mandalore's essence here, isn't he absorbing it from himself in the past?" Petrus munched a handful of cramberries as he watched. He frowned. Did his favorite show not make much sense?

He shrugged. Oh well. Still good.

"RAAAAAARGH!" Dacen game his trademark yell as he rushed at Elgin...

"You can't defeat me!" He said, spreading his arms wide. "I have the Warrior's Heart and the First Mandalore's essence!

"They said the, uh, the title! Drink!"

"Wait, if he absorbs the First Mandalore's essence here, isn't he absorbing it from himself in the past?"

Perhaps it was lucky that Vaya was too busy shouting advice to the characters ("Your blaster's right there! Just stun him!") to hear Petrus. Otherwise she might have declared "time paradox" for maybe the fifth time in the last half hour.

"There's a theory that the writers look up drinking game rules on the holonet and write the scripts to match," said Vaya. In contrast to her high-decible enthusiasm for calling out rules or heckling the screen, she spoke to her fellow viewers in the overly precise diction of the drunk. "To benefit their sponsors who sell inebriates. It's a cartel. Collusion. A conspiracy." She thought about this for a moment, and then maybe just because she liked the feel of it on her tongue, said "collusion" a few more times.

[Zerras Blume]

Zerras continued to listen, laughing and cheering with everyone else. She did wonder if she was actually facing the correct direction.

Astin may have tried to keep up drinking with Vaya, but he had a bar to run while Mia was trying hard not to Flirt with Dove, and there were others trying to keep pace with the Doctor. At least he figured he knew why she was so wary about flirting now though.

He did manage a drink with the last shout though, and he shook his head. "At this pace Doctor, I don't think you're going to make it to the end of the show. I mean you already missed a time paradox." The young man took a sip of his Whiskey. "You're likely right about it being collusion though, It's take a hckl of a lot of whiskey to get me through a whole seaon of this."

[Petrus Karath]

Jaina slumped to the ground, breathing heavily. Dacen clutched once hand, a defeated and reformed Elgin held her other hand. He spoke. "She's healed the time rifts, but it's taken a terrible toll on her. I don't know..." He shook his head.

A manly tear rolled down Dacen's cheek. "I'm sorry, cyare. I couldn't save you." Smiling, Jaina reached up to touch his cheek.

"I can." A voice came from behind. The Nautolan, the one who'd been in the background the whole time, stepped forward. "I can save her. And the twins she carries." His chin tilted upwards. "Because I am the Mandalore of the future. Mandalore the Redeemer."

"Wait, what?" Petrus said. "That's who the Nautolan was?" He groaned. "I don't think anyone predicted that."

It didn't take long. Mandalore the Redeemer was a doctor, after all, in addition to a warrior. In just a minute, Jaina sat up, blinking. Dacen smiled, squeezing her hand again. "You've come back to me Jaina. You're going to be okay." The camera zoomed in on Jaina's face as she frowned, her forehead creasing with confusion.

"Thank you, sir." She said faintly. "But I'm afraid... I don't remember you." Her eyes widened. "I don't remember anything at all!"

The camera snapped back to Dacen, a horrified look on his face, and then...

...

Credits began to roll. More music began to play, this song mostly horns, drums, and unified chanting.

Petrus stared at the screen a moment. "Amnesia." He said, half-groaning. "Everyone drink."

"I can." A voice came from behind. The Nautolan, the one who'd been in the background the whole time, stepped forward. "I can save her. And the twins she carries." His chin tilted upwards. "Because I am the Mandalore of the future. Mandalore the Redeemer."

"I knew it..." Zerras whispered to herself.

Sacha took a deep drink. "Didn't they, like, just use amnesia with another character?"

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus was still shaking his head. "Yes. Actually, this is the fourth time." He groaned.

After a moment, he frowned thoughtfully. "But maybe this'll be interesting. I mean, she's like the narrator; she does a lot of the voiceovers. Maybe they'll do cool stuff with that. Yeah." He nodded, smiling optimistically. "I bet they can make it work."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak just smiled at the younger man's optimism, it took a child like faith to trust the showrunners of this kind of action soap opera. He merely clapped Petrus on the back and chuckled giving him a friendly smile before returning his attention to the screen.

[Sacha Ordo]

"I mean, usually there's a season separating them, at least," she mused, tilting her head. "But I think if they made it the season finale, they're planning to go somewhere big with this one." She apparently had a similarly optimistic bent when it came to her media.

[Venator Praedae]

"Waid... so how does dis doggy absorb people? Is da a dhing?" Venator asks completely lost with where the show went.

Lyla was the font of information he needed, and seemed well informed on the show.

He pulled her closer to himself so they could watch together. "I don't get this time travel part."
