(Day 1, EE) If you go looking for trouble

[Jabber]

This thing, as it often does, begins with Jabber strolling into an absolute dive of a bar and ordering a drink.


"Say, have you heard of a guy around here? Fella by the name of Huk. I heard he was a hell of a gun hand."

[Dapper Dog]

An old troguta looked at the jawa and said, "What... why no you can't have my hand."

[Jabber]

"Uwah?!?" The Jawa exclaims in his trademark jibberish. "No no, I am looking for human. Fella by the name of Huk. I heard he was a good fighter and I'm trying to find him."

[Dapper Dog]

"Can't say that I know a Hook, is that a devaronian?" the old man responded.

[Jabber]

"No, I'm looking for a man who knows how to solve a particular problem. How to avoid a certain group." Jabber starts pulling out his credits. " But I don't think this is the place to find him, it seems. I'll be taking my leave then"

[Dapper Dog]

"How much is it worth to you, little jawa?" he asked.

[Jabber]

Jabber let's out a short bark of laughter. "You couldn't even get the species right, and the moment you see some credits you know exactly who I'm talking about. I mean, I'm dumb but I'm not that dumb? Dumb enough to play a Corellian at Sabaac in the dark? Maybe. Come on, you know some good ones."

Jabber leans in, the good humor gone now as his voice drops. "Yes, I know credits have some magic power to restore memory. I'm willing to front some now, plus more if it pans out. If that sounds good, give me your best "How dumb is the Jawa joke"."

[Dapper Dog]

"My father taught me if you are good at something never do it for free," he said chuckling.

"So creds?"

[Jabber]

"25 now, a hundred if the tip is any good. The secret to a long lasting business arrangement is to give both sides a reason to come back. That's what my father taught me.

It was a bit of a low-ball to be sure, but the bartender would almost certainly hike it up no matter where Jabber started.

Jabber slides over the credits, trying to hide the wince. That was digging into his reserves a good bit.

"So, what do you have for me?"

“Out i that desert there’s a place… outlaw town way I hear it, place where they ain’t no laws and all you got is your blaster and your wits, they call it Bone Town, hear it’s in the Wound. Sounds like the kind of place Dredgen Huk would put up his boots,” he said honestly.

[Jabber]

"Thank you kindly. The next time I see you, I'll have the rest, be furious...or be dead." Jabber tilts back his drink to drain it and dismounts, heading for the door.

Jabber takes his time moving around, hitting more bars and checking for tails.

He gets what he learned from the man for the money but he has a better idea of the location but his questioning has not gone unnoticed, he also knows that Dredgen Huk has a crew with him.
