"Jaklu. Of course.". Petrus shook his head. "I can hardly believe it. I've been here almost four years, and never to Jaklu." Not until today. If he didn't already not believe in coincidence...

His gaze drifted away. "Yeah. The shindig." He was silent a few moments, chewing on his lip.

Finally, he shrugged. "Some friends brought me here. Got me started. I do odd jobs to get by, sometimes mechanic work." He smiled. "Not boats, though, so don't worry about me crowding in on your business."

Petrus shrugged again. "I watched a lot of holovids. Probably too many. Did you know they run for years and years? There are shows that are on the second generation of characters now."

"I'm just glad you didn't get shindigged."
She shakes her head, tentacles flying everywhere
"And Y'all just been right here? Doing some non nautical mechanics and watching holovids? This is probably more indicative of the failure of my business' social media campaign than anything else.

Although I don't have time for many vids, except that one with the big family with all the Rhydonium money. 'Dallenor' I think it was. The patriarch got shot at one point and it was a real tough wait to see who done the deed."

Petrus smiled despite himself; he seemed to be headed towards A Mood, but Floats' cheer made that harder. "Pretty much." He said. "I'd like to say I was laying low, but I probably made too many late night snack runs for that." He chuckled, shaking his head. "But yeah. Right here the whole time."

Glancing surreptitiously around, Petrus leaned a little closer. "Speaking of laying low... I hear that there's..." his voice dropped to a whisper "-an Inquisitor coming to Bankor. Have you heard anything about that?"

Petrus smiled despite himself; he seemed to be headed towards A Mood, but Floats' cheer made that harder. "Pretty much." He said. "I'd like to say I was laying low, but I probably made too many late night snack runs for that." He chuckled, shaking his head. "But yeah. Right here the whole time."

"Oh yeah! He stabbed me in the shoulder today! You wanna see it?"

She starts to undue an overall strap.

Petrus' blue eyes widened noticeably. "What? Seriously? Today? Why? How? Why?"

There was a brief pause.

"I'm good." Petrus said with a wince, waving his hand. "I mean... unless you need me to? I could try treating it?" Petrus sounded doubtful.

"Naww, I saw this nice young doctor and she fixed me up. It's not as bad as it looks...I mean it hurt like hell but it ain't more more than a flesh wound, probably worse on a smaller person."

"He was out of sorts on account of my poor paperwork filing skills....which were out of sorts on account of him radiating a cloud of 'pissed off' and 'edge' in the you know what. Nearly had me shaking in my boots. Not a pleasant experience, he had nearly half the folks coming through customs taken to solo interrogation!"

"That..." Petrus ran a hand over his face. "He stabbed you over paperwork? That's insane. But," Petrus sighed, "-I suppose he couldn't have known you were, you know. Or that would have been it."

Petrus' lips quirked. "Here's hoping. But doesn't that sort usually go for trenchcoats?" His hands came up as though he was going to mime flashing, but he thought better of it.

His hands came back to his side. "Maybe it's okay. Just... stay extra low for a while, huh? Just in case?"

Petrus' lips quirked. "Here's hoping. But doesn't that sort usually go for trenchcoats?" His hands came up as though he was going to mime flashing, but he thought better of it.

His hands came back to his side. "Maybe it's okay. Just... stay extra low for a while, huh? Just in case?"

"I'm a tall and heavily muscled bright red woman with head tentacles....I struggle to low. But I could wear a hat I suppose, and use my birth name. It's unpronounceable nature could finally be an advantage."

Petrus grinned despite himself, again. "Yeah, okay, good point. But maybe just focus on boats. No problem there, right? Forget about... anything else for a little while."

His grin faded, replaced by a thoughtful frown. That sounded like advice he'd held tightly to a week ago. Not since yesterday morning. Was giving up the same as turning to evil, or at least of a similar strain?

Petrus spread his hands. "I don't know. There's a lot going on. There was a crackdown in the slums here this morning. You should be careful, but, well, people need help, too." He sighed.

Petrus grinned despite himself, again. "Yeah, okay, good point. But maybe just focus on boats. No problem there, right? Forget about... anything else for a little while."

"At least you got your friends? Probably helps to have someone who's not a boat to talk to....not that I talk to my boat...or that she and I have a healthy and frank relationship."

"Yeah." Petrus nodded. "Maybe that's enough. If everyone does a little bit... maybe that's enough that everyone can have a good work/life/death balance." He suspected not, though.

His smile grew gentle. "Hey, that's good that you've got a home. I'm glad. But no friends? And I'm not counting a boat." He smiled. "I wish I'd known. I couldn't have used some company for some of my longer bingewatches."

"Yeah." Petrus nodded. "Maybe that's enough. If everyone does a little bit... maybe that's enough that everyone can have a good work/life/death balance." He suspected not, though.

A tinge of embarrassment "I just keep to myself mostly, I mean, I holla if I recognize someone and I go to the festivals and what not. But it seemed easier to sail free.

Guess I missed some vid marathons? Ah well, we got time to catch up later? I mean...if you want. Sounds like things kinda worked out for you and all, don't wanna rock the boat."

Slowly, Petrus nodded. "I get that, really. I probably would have done the same if my friends weren't so persistent. But, well, they were. And my sister came here more recently..." He sighed. "That's helped a lot."

He smiled. "And hey, don't worry. There's still plenty of stuff left to watch. I don't suppose you ever caught an episode of Warrior's Heart?"

He smiled. "And hey, don't worry. There's still plenty of stuff left to watch. I don't suppose you ever caught an episode of Warrior's Heart?"

"Warrior's heart?Don't think so, maybe some previews? Seemed all sorts of dramatic."
She cocks her head
"Wait? You've got a sister? You found your sister? That's...I mean, y'all a family now."

"It is all sorts of dramatic." Petrus grinned. "That's what I like about it! It has everything. Action. Romance. Intrigue. Time-travel." He paused a moment. "Uh, I know that sounds weird, but really, it's pretty great."

His goofy grin softened. "Yeah. Jenna. My younger sister. When... you know, I hadn't seen her since we were both kids. We were close, then, too. I"m glad that we've got something. A family."

Petrus considered how to answer for a few moments. "No, she doesn't float. Or, at least, no better than anyone else." He gave Floats a significant look.

"But yeah. That sounds great." He said, smiling. "You can meet Jenna. And then my friends maybe, Dove and Mia and Vaya." And maybe his new friends, too; although they hadn't been to movie night either. "It's... yeah, I think you'd like it. I'm only related to Jenna, but that doesn't matter."

"Wait... what?" Petrus blinked, frowning. Actually, he did seem to have a lot of friends who were women, and they were all pretty, even his sister. Not that he thought about them in that way, of course... especially his sister.

After a moment, he chuckled. "Yeah, I guess I do have a lot of girlfriends. Well, not girlfriends. Friends who are girls. You know what I mean." He tilted his head. "Well, and then there's Sloan. He's a Trandoshan. So it's not just me and a bunch of ladies."

His lips quirked. "Well, if it is one of those shows, I wanna have a few words with the writers. The set-up is weird, and I feel like the writing's gone off the rails lately."

She shakes her head ruefully, sending head tentacles everywhere.

"She was just taking it easy until about 8 hours ago. Now there's the call to adventure and all that meta-textual stuff, very complicated."
She looks at Petrus for a few moments before diverting her gaze

"I should probably go....lots to do..I kind of agreed to sponsor a refugee family and they got kids so I need to be doing my best there."
