Astin was expected this evening, but not for a few hours yet and so with a bit of time to waste he decided to hit a bar. Mynerva's had a longer name, but he didn't bother remembering the rest of it. Didnt really seem worth the time to him, one bar was after all much like the rest.

He liked it though, most of the customers were working class, and while things could get a bit weird it was usually pretty chill. Finding a seat at the bar he nodded to the bartender, a young man named little T and ordered a beer. He should likely take it easy after all.

"Get me something strong....oh and ice.....and cheap please?"
A taller Nautolan settles down the next stool and buries her head in her hands, head tendrils shaking slightly

"Put it on my tab, T." Astin said glancing at the lady that settled in beside him. "The lady looks like she needs it."

A moment later a glass of amber liquid complete with ice was sat down in front of Fathyhyu. "It's likely rotgut, but it will get the job done." Astin said as he saw it arrive.

"Put it on my tab, T." Astin said glancing at the lady that settled in beside him. "The lady looks like she needs it."

A moment later a glass of amber liquid complete with ice was sat down in front of Fathyhyu. "It's likely rotgut, but it will get the job done." Astin said as he saw it arrive.

Mumbling "Much obliged"

She takes the glass and knocks it back before letting out a long sigh

"It's been one of those days where you wake up, and it's one thing, then 2 hours later you're getting stabbed and you're taking on responsibilities and you're meeting all friends who were probably dead?...I mean, maybe not specifically that sort of day, but something close to it?"

"Sounds like a rough day." Astin mused taking a sip of his beer. "I can imagine needing a drink or ten after a day like that."

There was a moments pause. "I'm Astin by the way."

Meanwhile, at the bar, a woman with an odd accent had started to speak up louder to a bartender, "You say you do not have shar'drella, van'luth, nn'doral... your alcohol selection is quite vexing. ...yes. ...yes. Made from grains you say? How astonishing! You drink your bread then?"

"Sounds like a rough day." Astin mused taking a sip of his beer. "I can imagine needing a drink or ten after a day like that."

There was a moments pause. "I'm Astin by the way."

"Fathynnyu.......Uh, or Floats, most people prefer floats."
She extends a hand

Meanwhile, at the bar, a woman with an odd accent had started to speak up louder to a bartender, "You say you do not have shar'drella, van'luth, nn'doral... your alcohol selection is quite vexing. ...yes. ...yes. Made from grains you say? How astonishing! You drink your bread then?"

Before wincing at the sound of the Chiss lady
"It's not really bread...some of it is grapes or potatoes."

"Floats?" It seemed a bit of a weird nickname, but he wasn't going to argue. "If that works for you, it works for me." Extending his own hand he shook hers, his eyes moving to the lady of blue a moment later.

"Other fruits are used sometimes too. Honey too occasionally, and that's just the usual stuff this place serves." His lips curled into a smirk. "I suppose floats or I could give you a suggestion if you're open to experimenting, Miss."

"Potato? What's a potato?" she asked herself before the man spoke up. She gave a small frown, "I suppose if you are more familiar with such things, I should bow to your superior knowledge, yes. May I take a seat then with you then? It has been a... long day."

She certainly looked a bit... drained.

"Well of course! That is if my companion doesn't mind? I was just telling him about my day, then he did the gentlemanly thing and bought me a drink"
Always seemed to happen to her, probably just welcoming folks round these parts

"I actually got stabbed going through customs today, all over paperwork, I mean, can you believe?"
Muttering
"Feels like the empire don't take kindly to mechanics and tinkerers, you know?"

"The more the merrier, it's not healthy to drink alone after all." Gesturing to one of the seats nearby he turned to T. "I'm not sure what it is the lady normally drinks, but maybe something that will put a bit of pep in her step?"

"Our new friend looks a bit drained." He then turned to floats. "So you really were stabbed?" The young man shook his head. "Personally I dont think the new empire doesn't take kindly to a lot of people. Sad to hear mechanics are among them, being as I'm one at least on the side."

She took a seat, "Now now... perhaps they have good reason to be overly cautious, no no? Still, I won't deny that it did seem a bit much, to say the least."

Ela turned to the red woman, "I do remember seeing you on the ship and in the customs line earlier, yes yes. You do stand out, after all. You say you got stabbed? However did that come to happen? And are you all right?"

Her eyes light up though
"But you consider yourself a mechanic? Well then I knew I was drinking in good company, I'm a nautical engineer by trade, which means I have a boat focused persuasion. You gotta come by the shop then, we can talk tinkering.

She took a seat, "Now now... perhaps they have good reason to be overly cautious, no no? Still, I won't deny that it did seem a bit much, to say the least."

Ela turned to the red woman, "I do remember seeing you on the ship and in the customs line earlier, yes yes. You do stand out, after all. You say you got stabbed? However did that come to happen? And are you all right?"

Slight surprise "Oh? You was up on that ship? You must be new to Bankor then, I'm Floats and this is Astin. And well, you're always gonna stand out when you're read, primary colours and all. I'm all right now though, got patched up. Hope you didn't end up with that scary customs officers, the one with the gasmask and the impractical cape? Gosh he hated tables."

"Sounds like it." Astin replied dryly before taking a sip of his beer. He was happy about the change of subject though and snatched ahold of it. "Yeah, though I mostly work on speeder bikes, and I never really went to school for it. I'd be happy to talk shop with you sometime though. I dont know much about bosts, but I'm always happy to learn something new."

Moments later a yellow drink garnished with some sort of citrus arrived in front of the chiss woman, apparently his take on something to put a bit of pep in her step. "I don't know what it is, but T knows his drinks so I hope you like it." ((Think space sidecar))

Ela nodded a little as Floats talked, leaning down to literally sniff the drink after it was set down. "The powerful sky-walker? Yes, we had a talk. He did not talk to me about his furniture preferences."

She looks back up, changing the subject back to theirs, "But you are both mechanics as well, yes? I went to academy for a degree in Starship Design & Repair. I have space rented out in the city here, but not much in the way of customers yet."

"Nothing wrong with being self taught, it's the best way to figure it out, you help me figure out bikes and I can teach you about a class of vehicle nobody operates!"

"Well I'm glad he wasn't too rough on you, even a roguish scar is mighty frustrating if it doesn't come from a place of love."
The Nautolan is clearly delighted at being surrounded by fellow mechanics, her arm gestures are quite broad and energetic
"Starship design?" Whistle "Well that's above my paygrade little lady. I ain't done much there. Not sure what sorta contracts you're gonna find in Bankor but maybe something'll come along."

On her way to the bar, Jiam overhears references to starship design and mechanics, which make a couple of head tendrils wiggle. Good thing it's me overhearing them and not one of those imperial goons. The little group who might be talking about sedition also included a vaguely familiar looking human. One of Jiam's head tendrils twitched as she stopped, trying to find him in her memory.

Astin let out a low whistle at the mention of starship design as well. "Seems like you have quite the brain behind that pretty face, Miss. Starship design is a bit out of my league and it seems the same goes for floats as well." He tipped back his beer and took a sip.

"Course I might disagree with Floats a bit. Roguish scars are to show the ones you love, or at least show the ones you want to make love to. I'll skip the love stabs from people who like me."

He turned slightly to scan the bar, and make sure so one was listening in too much. Not that it was likely in a place like Mynerva's. Eventually his eyes landed on Jiam and he frowned for a moment. Nah couldn't be.

The double entendre was lost on the woman, apparently.

"And you two are part of a league? Does it have something to do with mechanics then? Even if starship design is out of them, I would not mind a league for contacts and such."

Seeing the hint of recognition from the scruffy human, Jiam stepped close enough to address him without inserting herself into the group. Her face was still skeptical, but she suggested, "Corellia? Like... What maybe a year ago?" Her head tendrils gently waved behind her head, as though stirred by the gentlest but most sustained breeze ever.

"Gina, wasn't it?" Astin asked after a moment of though. "And yeah, back on Coreilla." He nodded having placed a name of some sort to the face. "Fancy seeing you here, didnt expect to see someone I knew."

With that he glanced back to Floats. "That just means you're not showing em off to the right people. Best to look for someone that's interested in seeing you topless, they're likely to want to have a good look at your scar then..."

"Well, eventually at least."

"Like a union? Nawww, I ain't a member. You gotta pay dues if you wanna be a member, and I'm so broke my finances need a personal repairman. I'm sure you could join up though, meet some new people, love stab them."

"I would not mind; Opportunity is worth a few credits taxed. I would pass on your... unique cultural customs, however."

She said this last part almost in response to all the talking about stab wounds.

"You know, bacta could probably heal that up anyways. And if not, synthflesh is always a solution. If scarring is a problem, that is."
