[Day 1 - LE] Forget Me Not

"Ooof. I'd be remiss not to tell you that most of my people and they don't exactly see eye to eye. Even if you did decide to leave, I get the imptession there's not many places to run from the Empire."

He reaches out to consolingly pat her hand.

"But I know, responsibilities. You can't leave, so we would need to make him want to leave?"

"Good luck making him... want to leave," she said waving it off. It seemed like fantasy and she shrugged and said, "Just don't worry about it, there really isn't anything that we can do."

"Then maybe he's ordered to leave? These Imperials, military discipline and all that. Maybe we make him fail enough to be ordered away?"

Ru'ni knows the likelihood of success is low, but he's throwing ideas out there just the same.

"Everyone takes orders from someone, right?"

She frowned and finally just let it out since the Aznuri seemed so sure of it by saying, “Captain Hrugos… the Brute of Bankor, his superiors whoever they are do not seem interested in reining him in. Quite the opposite, if what I heard about in the slums is true.”

Ru'ni let out a low whistle. "Wow. You weren't kidding." He replied as he leaned back in his chair. Hrugos was further up the chain of command than he'd expected.

"That's one hell of an ex."

She finished her drink and said, "Yeah... that tends to be the response."

"On the upside, I guess, your small problem seems to be everyone's big problem. Perhaps by happy circumstance, your issue may get resolved without intent? Even I hear whispers around town of people looking to upset the status quo. Send these Imperials packing, I assume this would include Captain Bantha Poodoo."

Ru'ni offers as a conciliatory point.

"You are entirely too optimistic," she said dryly and then laughed. "I really hope that is true."

"Pray for rain, prepare for drought; as my people say. If you have time, and the opportunity, I'd introduce you to someone I know. She may be that new hope you are looking for, and if you know anything about the Captain's operation, she might be able to put your information to good use."

His mood picks up a little as Trion laughs.

"Sure," she said resigned to follow this thread.

"Her name is Yusandr. Have you heard of her?" Ru'ni asks without giving too much away, or so he hoped.

Trion nodded and pushed the glass away, "Yeah, okay. I must be crazy, but I'll humor you."

"I could probably sing something for you, if you really want to know," she said honestly.

"A private performance? I don't want to treat you like a trained manka cat, performing for the crowds on request. But I am intrigued." He admitted honestly.

Trion shrugged and walked over to the old holo-juke and tapped around until she found an instrumental it was an old song her father liked. She popped in a couple creds and then waited for it to start and started feeling music moving her hips back and forth.

Then she started to sing for the Aznuri and for a moment all of her problems were a thousand light years away, she was in her element.

Once it was done, she leaned against the wall and said, “That was a favorite of mine, my dad loved it. So… yeah.”

"When my people sing," Ru'ni explained after a respectful round of applause. "It is out of joy or ceremony, from the heart. I feel that was from yours Miss Trion and I thank you for sharing it with me. I am a little surprised though."

"That in a universe where it seems everything is for sale, that your obvious talents cannot provide you a source of credits."

Her mood went gray as she said, “They could, Eugin… Captain Hrugos offered to take me to the Core and introduce me to people that could advance my career, just me and then I would be trapped with him. I almost took him up on that offer, I was so close.”

“There are days I wish I had, I would probably be miserable but I could make a lot of people happy. Of course he would want me to love, or adore him or… it does not matter.”
