Here they were in the ship graveyard, Dak kept his wits about him as they moved through the bleak earth littered with broken dead machinery. His company was certainly unexpected to him, the mandalorian had sought him out. Heard about him through word of mouth or something, she was looking for a guide and a sharp pair of eyes to help her look for salvage. He was hesitant but eventually gave into her request.

Dak knew these lands werent the safest but with his blaster in his hands and a mandalorian with him he felt pretty good about being out here.

"Yo mando let's not take too long, I'd rather not have to deal with pickers." He said somewhat more tersely than normal.

[Sacha Ordo]

Sacha followed, keeping an eye out for what she was looking for. "I'm right behind you," they acknowledged. It didn't bother them to just be referred to like that. They preferred it to people insisting on knowing their name.

They kept a hand on their sword as they picked over the miscellaneous debris and entered one of the husks.

Dak had found a few pieces so far, nothing amazing but stuff he could probably get someone to make into some useful modifications to his gun. He looked around the hulking debris and saw the mando duck into one, he followed having their back wouldnt do to have a client get dead on his watch.

"So what are you looking for scrap for anyway? Doesnt look like you plan on selling." He remarked while sweeping the husk with his flash light.

[Sacha Ordo]

"Mandalorian weapons or armor," they said. "Things have probably been picked pretty clean of them, but we might find something hidden."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak paused for a moment but continued on "what makes you think you'll find that on Bankor? We dont get too many of your people around here."

[Sacha Ordo]

"We held the planet at one time. It was retaken," they explained simply as they searched. There was no emotion discussing it besides a simple explanation of facts. "And we've served in various conflicts as mercenaries since then. So there's a moderate chance of finding some."

[Jurdak Surt]

Jurdak scoffed a little "I should have guessed." The words came out with slightly more venom than he had meant. He cleared his throat. "Well I have seen some useful stuff but I wouldnt know what to look for mando stuff."

[Sacha Ordo]

They didn't seem to take any offense, or at least there wasn't any in the tone. "Perhaps." They moved deeper in. "Besides the items being likely to be at or near skeletal remains, the armor is fairly distinctive. It hasn't changed much since then. I can identify the weapons."

Dak shook it off and kept on picking through stuff, the boneyard was mostly quiet except the occasional far of sound of metal on metal. It wasnt a crowded place but they certainly werent alone out here. As long as they didnt come across any pickers this would be a nice easy trip.

Dak was quieter than usual, not that Sacha would know what usual was for the Cathar but eventually boredom and his naturally talkative nature won out "So what brings you to Bankor." He asked while sifting through a pile. It was basic small talk but it broke the long silence between them.

[Sacha Ordo]

They were using their shoulder to shift a large piece of debris. "... Study and crafting, mostly..." They let out a breath as they finished moving it. "Making armor."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak thought for a minute while he found some old weapon parts that still looked useful, he put them in a pocket as he continued picking "Seems like a weird place to come to learn, where you from?"

[Sacha Ordo]

"... Concordia," they said. "Haven't been back in a few years, though."

[Jurdak Surt]

"Huh, no kidding? I been there once. A long time ago, during the war." Concordia had been an interesting mission to say the least "Almost died there actually. Small galaxy it seems." Though when you work ops like he did you visit a lot of planets.

[Sacha Ordo]

The looked back over curiously. "Yeah... Same. What brought you there?"

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak shrugged "I fought for the Republic during the war, on mission there. I'd say I couldnt tell you about it or I'd have to kill you but I doubt my old employer would really much care at this point." He paused "considering they dont really exist. Not like they were."

[Sacha Ordo]

"Yeah..." They agreed quietly. "There was some influence from the Republic, but whatever happened with that was still between Mandalorians. The Empire isn't the same."

[Jurdak Surt]

"Kind of work I did was more intelligence gathering, eyes on the situation. At least in that case." He paused fiddling with a bit of scrap looking for anything useful, he didnt see anything worth his time so he tossed it back into a like with a clattering sound. "So you were born mandalorian then?"

[Sacha Ordo]

They nodded as they worked. "Yes, though we make no difference between born or foundlings."

[Jurdak Surt]

Well at least they didnt choose this life he thought to himself as he worked methodically through ship "Whatd you think of the new mandalorian movement? The pacifism and all that?" He asked casually, maybe too casually for normal tone, probably sounded a little forced.

[Sacha Ordo]

"It is not The Way," they responded, focused. "Our identity and history is tied together. Suddenly trying to change us is like trying to pretend it never happened."

[Jurdak Surt]

"Is it though? What about progress? Becoming something new doesnt mean forgetting who you were. I'd imagine there are things your people have done that they wouldnt want to hold onto. Things the New Mandalorians were trying to distance themselves from."

[Sacha Ordo]

"The Mandalorians are older than the Republic. One doesn't last that long without progress, change, adaptation. There are some things that make us who we are, though. If we behave dishonorably, it's better to face it than try to distance ourselves. It always catches up."

[Jurdak Surt]

"But the things that make you who you are. Genocide. Violence simply to prove you are superior. I know there are a lot of bad guys in history but few who have fought and killed more than your people. Not for resources or power but just because you could." He was finding it hard to hide his disgust at this point.

[Sacha Ordo]

"I don't think the solution to that is to say, 'Well, we're different now, so none of that matters'." Their tone was still even and calm. "Our enemies lives mattered, as did our own when we died to them, and when we were destroyed and left a broken people in turn. Distancing ourselves, forgetting, not taking ownership of our actions, all of it would be disrespectful."

"I think you think change is worse than it is. Satine wasn't trying to forget who you were she was acknowledging the pain your culture caused and trying to pull the mandalorians from barbaric ways that hurt entire species." He paused and took a breath "I'm not saying her way is perfect but isnt their like a middle ground? Where your people dont fight just for the hell of it?"
