It's Late Enough [LA1]

[Dapper Dog]

“Wait you get I am trying to flirt right?” she said self-consciously.

“Kriff a date? If this is a date I want bantha-burger and better make it large meal.”

"Can do. I've burned some of your energy, so it's only fair. Do they serve it here?"

"No but there is one down the street," she said with a hopeful look.

"Sure, show me around." He stepped away to foot what remained of his tab to make himself ready to go.

She directed him to the place, it was fast food, greasy food made quick with more calories than should be survivable.

[Daunt]

He was full of soup, so he didn't feel compelled to eating that, but he wouldn't question her choices. Still, once it was ordered, picked-up and put before her, he gave it a once-over.

"Ever eaten venison?"

[Dapper Dog]

"What is that a type of meat?" she asked as she started digging in speaking with her mouth full. Then washed it down with a nice frothy vanilla blue milk shake. She added with a burp, "Oh man this is so good."

"No you can't have my fries!"

[Daunt]

"Wild, hunted down." He replied, but seeing how she was supersizing herself in small doses in glee, he decided not to advance any argument about the superiority of that over her current culinary experience. "But can I have a slurp of your shake? Looks tempting."

[Dapper Dog]

She nodded with a smile, pushing over the drink, and said, “Are you not hungry?”

“So look I am going to let you in on a secret… you can’t tell anyone but I am really a super secret agent working for a black ops wing of the government… and… and…” she starts laughing uncontrollably and slapping the table.

“Oh man I totally got you right?” she added with snorting laughter.

[Daunt]

"I had a lot of soup just an hour ago." He then started slurping on the shake when she spilled the story. "Sure. I choose to believe you until you convince otherwise. Government agent or not, you're cool. You shared the shake." He returned the cup, having sucked up maybe a quarter of it. And then he realised it was probably meant as good humour, so he grinned, revealing his black teeth.

"You know... most people bail by now," she said honestly looking down.

"Why are you so... chill?"

[Daunt]

He shrugged. "Maybe because of my lack of agenda. I don't hold too many preconceptions or expectations, just stay curious what happens next. It's been an enjoyable afternoon with you, I am doing my part to make it so on your side of things."

He added a smirk to his expression. "Like you said, maybe all it takes to find my purpose is to meet the right girl."

She chewed her lip and said hesitantly, "Maybe... we could do a real date? You mentioned venison, you a hunter?"

"Want... want to go hunting?"

"Sure, why not. Though unless you think of stray cats or some rathtars in sewers, it's going to be more like a trip than a simple date. Outback is where the game is." He paused. "Or you have a speeder. Because I don't."

"I'm a delivery girl, of course I have a speeder, so I'll pick you up," she said a bit surprised that worked.

[Daunt]

"Do you have anything to hunt with?" Daunt didn't notice surprise as he didn't know why it wouldn't work. If it was a trap, he wasn't paranoid enough to see it.

"I don''t have any hunting weapons," she said looking defeated.

[Daunt]

"We'll figure something out. Do you have a device to take photos with? Bloodless hunting is half the fun, but still fun."

"Oh yeah certainly, if I wanted a weapon what would you recommend maybe I can find something," she asked, mentally considering what would work well for hunting.

"I hunt with blade, but most hunt with projectiles." He paused. "I think it's fair to give the animal a fighting chance. Killing at a distance detaches from the experience."

“Got it, I think I can manage that, so when’s a good time to pick you up Daunt, for our hot hunting date, tomorrow evening?” she said between mouthfuls of bantha burger.

He smirked a bit a the 'hot' part, wondering what the girl meant by the hyperbole. "I'll try to make it to the Nerf around sundown. If I'm not there, it'll mean I'll have been delayed by some odd job and we'll have to take a rain check for the next day. Is it fine by you, Lyla?"

"Sure, I mean you probably have better things to do then hang out with me," she said honestly.
