Time Out Take Out (D1, Mid-Evening, Mia/Dove apt)

[Dove Gray]

Dove took a deep breath. An inquisitor could make things complicated if she was going to do something about that camp. And then of course, it would suddenly be much more dangerous for the kid, and the others...

"So Xanna is one too... I overheard some of the kids in the transport yesterday, I think they might be one of you guys too," she looked to Petrus. "Sounds like a lot of you have ended up on Bankor." Dove didn't really believe in stuff like the will of the Force. Or coincidences. If there were many of them here, it must be drawing the attention of those boogey-men.

"You guys need to be careful, ok?"

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"And here we thought bringing you to this 'nowhere' planet would work out," Mia said with a sigh, "Seems like others had a similar idea. If we had a ship, we'd get you outta here immediately.'

The blonde looked straight at Petrus with a slight frown.

"Yeah, the ship is down. Everyone else on it is gone.'

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus shook his head. "I think the Empire is pushing harder. Tightening its grip. Maybe there aren't any nowhere planets left anymore. Eventually, maybe people won't be able to hide anymore." Maybe then they'd have to fight.

"Well, that's good. But seriously? More?" Petrus blinked a few times. "Uh... did you catch their names? I know, a big happy reunion probably isn't in the cards, but..." He spread his hands. "I just... knowing a few more made it. It means something."

[Dove Gray]

"Qareme, a tall Zabrak girl, and Verse, a flippy Mirialan girl." It hadn't been hard to catch the names, after all, since everyone had insisted on doing introductions.

"I know it means a lot to you that more of them are safe," Dove gave him an understanding smile. "You don't need to arrange for the big high school reunion, but it might help to know who they are, and to keep them safe too from trouble. If it is as you say, that the Imps are tightening their grip more, then we need to know who our allies are."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Flippy Mirialan is like saying giant Trandoshan," Mia mused, "Never heard of a Mirialan that doesn't like to flip."

Mia then sighed. "Yeah, looks like we can't really hide anymore. In fact, kind of foolish that I thought that was an option to begin with."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus snorted. "But yeah, I know who you mean." His nose wrinkled. "Her? Really? Okay." He shook his head. Well, either the Force was stronger with her than he thought, or he'd have to start believing in luck after all."

He took a deep breath. "And... yeah. It does help to know. Allies..." Petrus chewed on his lip a few moments. "Do either of you know any Aznuri?"

"Heh, I'll take your word for it on the Mirialan..." she chuckled and took another sip of soda. "And no, hon, it wasn't foolish to think that the kid, and others like him, could hide. We didn't know the Empire would start going to such extreme lengths."

Well, Dove had suspected it, but she had been on the opposing side since before there was an Empire.

"Aznuri? That's the local natives, right?" a curious look was given to Petrus. "I think there were two of them on the transport with us."

[Petrus Karath]

"Yeah? Huh." Petrus frowned. "I met one yesterday, I think. At least, he trains with them. Big guy, a Trandoshan; I go up to about here on him." Chuckling, Petrus held one hand palm down at about chest level.

He let the hand fall, relaxing back into the chair. "It sounded like the Empire's been cracking down on them, too. No surprise, since they have their own, y'know..." Another mystical hand wave. "I wonder if they might want to help."

Her eyebrows raised slightly. "Trandoshan, huh? Not many of those around here, I think..." she'd have to keep an eye out for that.

"Maybe. It's probably likely... though they could also be, well, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, as some say."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Looks like we have quite the potential following. Might be good to rally everyone. I give pretty great speeches."

[Petrus Karath]

"Believe me, you can't miss him." Petrus said dryly. "But yeah, we could use all the friends we can get. Crackdowns, assassins..." Petrus shook his head. "My favorite restaurant closed down, too."

He shot Mia a grin. "Yeah, I bet. Go team, we're gonna win this?" He teased gently.

Dove quirked her lips. It wasn't a frown, but not a smile either. And she silently chewed the noodles for a few moments.

"Win what, exactly?"

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Freedom. From the Empire." Mia pushed away her food and glanced towards the door. She took a breath and looked back at her companions. "The Empire's grip on us, all of us, relies on fear. That's their strongest weapon. Take that away, and they'll lose.

"Look at how many people we've discovered in a single day. What about a week? A month? A year? We outnumber the Empire. They don't want us to know that."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus leaned closer to Dove, his voice dropping lower. "I meant the sportsball game. Whatever she was captain of."

He sat up, listening to Mia's speech. "Maybe." He said. It sounded less weary than he usually did during these sorts of talks.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"The Empire didn't start off this way, at least not here. If they did, we would have fought back immediately." Mia got to her feet, nodding along to her own words. "Instead, they slowly made us afraid, taking away little by little of our rights until we believed ourselves powerless. They separated us too, treating some better than others, making some blind."

[Dove Gray]

"Shh, she's on a roll," Dove mouthed almost instead of whispering as Mia spoke.

It felt a little awkward for her to listen to Mia's inspirational words. It was inspirational, but for Dove... a lot of those things had started before the Empire was the Empire.

Now was not the time to bring it up though.

"Sounds all a little bit too much. At least to start with. Maybe focus on just this place first?"

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"You're right. We can't settle for less though." Mia sat back down and looked at her food. She shrugged and looked back up at them. "Well, we need to spread the word somehow. Maybe that reporter guy can help us if he's not too busy making out with that stormtrooper."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus smiled, just a little. "That is the Jedi way." He murmured. "The big picture's important, but you have to keep your mind on where you are. What you're doing. The here and now, you might say." He paused a moment. "Maybe what we do here can change the big picture. But either way, maybe it's what we're supposed to do."

Another pause. "Making out with a stormtrooper?" Petrus asked, his tone skeptical.

"Hey, physical rehabilitation might work out," Dove said in an amused tone about Ria'la making out with the sexy trooper. "I believe there's some research to support it."

[Petrus Karath]

"Well then, I guess it's a good thing I bought fancy new underwear." Petrus said blandly.

[Dove Gray]

"Oh, so now you're interested. Didn't think sexy trooper was your thing, Petrus," Dove teased with ease. Even if it made her think about her own upcoming doom.

"Mm, by the way," she looked at Petrus. "Care to join up with Mahon tomorrow? There's something I wanna talk to him about, and your input would be good."

[Petrus Karath]

"Mmm, you're right. I was never into the whole uniforms thing." Petrus said blandly. "Nevermind about the underwear."

His eyebrows went up. "Really? You want me there." He frowned a moment, but shrugged. "Sure, if you think I'd be helpful. Whatever you like."

He frowned again. "Is this about the desert prison? If you're looking for that, I definitely want to go along."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"A whole prison full of like-minded folk would be good to get on our side," Mia chimed in. She seemed to be taking to forming a little resistance, little rebellion, of her own. "We almost went there ourselves. There has to be good people there, like so-and-so Dove mentioned."

"Someone important," Dove left it at that. Freely talking about her days on the side of CIS wasn't something she felt like bringing up, at least not with Petrus, seeing as how they had been on different sides then.

"It's about the desert-prison, yeah, and a few other things." She gave Petrus a curious look. "Any reason in particular that the place interests you that much?"

[Petrus Karath]

"Mmmmmmm..." The thoughtful hum went on for rather a long time. Petrus' lips were pressed together, his expression thoughtful, his gaze distant.

"A feeling." Petrus finally said. He shrugged. "I know that doesn't sound like much, but, well, I'm supposed to trust those sorts of feelings." He frowned. "I've been having it for a while. It's just now that I feel that maybe it's time to do something about it."
