"Mahon? What do you think?" Petrus asked. He glanced at Dove almost apologetically. "I trust you, but this is dangerous info, and you know I'm out of my depth on this spy stuff."

"She's one of the best if she says she can handle it, I trust her," he said honestly.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus took a deep breath. He looked back to Dove. "Okay. I'll tell her, then."

"We know where the Jedi he's looking for used to be." He said. "That seems like it could get him to trust you... but not get him on the right trail. We could even point him in the wrong direction, maybe." Petrus grimaced. "But I dunno if I'd want to try that."

[Dove Gray]

"Such a vote of confidence," she smirked confidently, but sobered her expression as Petrus spoke.

"That... that could be very useful. Yes. Not sure how well I could throw him off the scent though, at least not for long. In my experience, if there is some truth in a lie, it is easier to make people believe it."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus nodded. "Maybe you could 'find' it, lead him there. Make him spend some time searching."

He frowned. "I guess the tricky part is giving him just the right information. Not too much, not too little." Petrus gave her a wry smile. "Guess that's your department."

[Mahon Jiut]

"Make sure important things and whatever they need is long gone," Mahon said.

[Dove Gray]

"Yes," she agreed with Mahon.

"Something like a location, an old one but not too old, would be good. I could either head there myself, or with him."

[Mahon Jiut]

"Farmer's market in Jaklu," he said confidently.

[Dove Gray]

"Farmer's Market it is then." Dove gave a serious nod.

She hadn't lived this dangerously since the war, though deep down she was kind of thrilled to be back in danger.

Even genetic programming was a thing for Arkanians.

[Mahon Jiut]

"Good, let's keep it at the farmer's market you can't divulge what you don't know," he said with a nod.

"I think we need to get my people involved but Petruvi, speak to the Jays see what they think of working with my friends."

[Petrus Karath]

"Petruvi? Really? That's not even close." Petrus sighed.

He smiled. "I'll tell them, but I'm pretty sure I already know the answer. We'll help. Isn't that why you ran us down after that encounter with the Captain?"

[Dove Gray]

"You're terrible with names," Dove teased and took a big gulp of kaff.

[Mahon Jiut]

"I had a good feeling about you kid," his towel fell and he made his way to the refresher.

"Now I am going to shower."

[Petrus Karath]

With a sigh, Petrus looked at the ceiling again.

"Well, I guess we got what we wanted." He scratched at his temple, messing up his hair a bit. "Actually, I just got a bit more than I wanted."

He turned to Dove, a strange expression on his even features.

[Dove Gray]

"Have a nice shower!" She did eye the goods when she had the chance before looking back to Petrus.

"Sorry about springing this on you..."

After a moment, Petrus shook his head. "It's okay." He said. "It sounds like you did the best that you could... no, the best anyone could have done in that situation."

His lips quirked. "This must've happened before last night, right?" He sighed. "Sorry. It just feels weird. I guess I still don't quite get your line of work."

[Dapper Dog]

A nude female twi'lek walked by and said, "Oooh Kaff, cool man!" She drank a cup and kept on her way.

She then went to the refresher as well.

[Dove Gray]

"All yours, hon," Dove said casually like she had seen this scene before. Of course, also checking out the passing lady.

"Well. Time to go, I think, and let the adults have their fun. Come along, kid."

[Petrus Karath]

A quick glance, and then back to the ceiling. And then back to Dove. "Yeah. Okay." Lips pressed together, Petrus gave a compressed sigh.

Grabbing a cup for himself (there were four, after all), he walked quickly to the elevator, his stride purposeful.

Dove didn't speak until they were out the door again. All out of care for Petrus since she knew she herself would say something that would overwhelmingly embarrass him.

"... How you feeling?" she asked as they stepped out into the early morning streets.

Petrus gave Dove a wan smile. "That was rather a lot to take in. And ugh, I'm not talking about Mahon... nevermind." He shook his head, his red hair shifting with the motion, becoming playfully messy.

He looked at Dove again. "I don't know. I think I feel a lot of things. I wish you'd told me last night... but I understand. I don't know." Another wan smile. "I think mostly I'm worried. I know you're good, but the Inquisitor..." Petrus shook his head, trailing off.

[Dove Gray]

"Yesterday... I dunno, my mind hadn't quite decided yet what to do about that situation. And I didn't want to spook you further then, as you seemed worried enough already." The wan smile was returned with a sheepish smile.

"It's sweet of you to worry though. Really, I'm touched." She pretended to wipe away a tear, clearly being overly melodramatic. "But I don't believe that we can all just keep our heads down and hope this shitstorm passes. And well... to be honest, I don't know any other way than to do dangerous stunts like that. It's what I do, what I've always done."

[Petrus Karath]

The first part got a wave of acknowledgement. "I know, I get it." He said, smiling.

The second part... "Yeah, fine, make fun. But I agree. We all need to do our part. And you are good at those dangerous stunts..." His smile slowly faded as he considered her, his mind working on something...

"What did you mean earlier, when you said smoking wasn't going to kill you?" Petrus asked suddenly.

[Dove Gray]

The question caught her a little unawares, and she laughed softly after the initial surprise wore off. "Oh, that," she shook her head. "In my line of work, people don't tend to live long enough to reach old age. And well..."

Dove stopped to stump her cigarette out on a nearby trash-can. "How much do you know about Arkanians?"

Petrus crossed his arms over his chest, frowning. He was wearing his new vest, the one she'd gotten him yesterday; not the tight one, although it did fit him well. "Not much. Actually, when you first said that, that's what I thought you meant, you were immune to the smoke or something. Not that..."

Grimacing, he gestured helplessly with one hand. "Go on." He said.
