[Day - 2 LA] Fire and Flames [Event RP Thread]

[Petrus Karath]

Wincing, Petrus approached the flame almost hesitantly. But the hesitation turned to thoughtfulness in a moment, as he went from fear of the flames to considering which pieces he could move.

"When I said smoking would kill you, this isn't what I meant!" Petrus shouted, his muscles shaking as he moved more rubble aside. "Where are you, kid?" He kept working.

[Dapper Dog]

Petrus ripped through the rubble to find a pocket of safety, underneath was Liua holding the rubble up through sheer Force, her eyes were clenched tight and she was straining, but for now the people inside were safe…

“I… don’t… know…” she tried to safe and then collapsed to a knee under the weight. This was being fueled by pure anger… by darkness but she was holding it.

Mia saw the 'kid' over yonder and ran over to assist. "Crap, Petrus, jeez," she hollered on the way over. She looked over her shoulder and waved back towards Dove's direction.

"Kid, they get you at all? Ah, nevermind, we're both still walking. What's the sitch?"

[Juri Saizesh]

"I think there was....around here somewhere....a healer, " Ru'ni scans the area looking for Juri through the smoke and the haze, but his search is interrupted by Sinnya's comment.

"Then someone knows too much to be permitted to leave this system." He responded very coldly in tone to mention of the Sith's knowledge of the Calm.

"If she knows about it, it's possible others among the empire do as well," Verse said.

She of course knew only a little about the 'Calm', really just what Sister Hulia had told her.

“She knows, but she doesn’t know how to find it. That’s why she hurt Viati, trying to make her tell.” Sinnya’s concern was still almost entirely for the woman who’d nearly died; she hadn’t had time yet to get over her own close call.

“We need to hide her. But—“ she too spotted Juri and waved, even though doing so made her wince. “That’s her,” she told Verse. “The witch from the clinic. What’s she doing here?” Not that Sinnya was going to look a gift bantha in the mouth.

The Witch ran over, her already ready to lend aid. She looked to Verse, and Sinnya. As well as the Aznuri women. She knelt, and set her kit down. It wasn't a question who needed the most help.

Her hands shook, even as she remained calm. The place was a warzone.

Petrus grimaced expressively, but the fact that the teenage dirtbag that they'd picked up was channeling the Dark Side seemed like a problem for a later time.

"Mia?" Petrus' surprise was obvious in his wide blue eyes, but he grinned. "Thank the Force you're here. Here, help me. Liua-" He turned to her briefly, "-hang on."

He didn't know how long they had. He jumped inside. "C'mon, let's go!" He called, moving quickly to drag the survivors to safety.

[Dove Gray]

Dove wasn't far behind Mia, so seeing there were people in need, she acted quickly to pull them to safety.

Whatever questions she had would have to wait.

[Fathynyu Kurrek]

A Nautolan who looks like something between a diving suit manikin and a target range dummy stumbles towards the group out of the smoke and dust. Seeing some trapped survivors and a kid using...well, that's interesting. Floats just walks into the hole, finds the heaviest and most dangerous piece of debris and braces a shoulder against it.

Petrus will get a tired nod but, like most people in the midst of a violent purge, Floats looks real rough.

Liua used the last of her strength to cast the rubble aside and then leaned against the remnants of the structure. Her eyes were tinged yellow briefly before she regained a semblance of control… that had been a rush of power. She frowned and said, “I hate the Imps.”

[Sinnya]

The Witch ran over, her already ready to lend aid. She looked to Verse, and Sinnya. As well as the Aznuri women. She knelt, and set her kit down. It wasn't a question who needed the most help.

"Please, can you help her?" Sinnya, voice tight, dropped to her knees next to Viati as Juri got to work. "That weapon the S--the offworlder in black had, I've never seen anything like it." She glanced sideways at Verse. Until you and that Zabrak girl showed up. But even with everything she'd just been through, she wasn't foolish enough to mention the whole Jedi thing.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Ru'ni stood guard as Juri worked her skills on Viati. Pacing like a caged animal his investment in the wellbeing of this woman was obviously more than just as another Aznuri.

He hadn't seen enough of the fight to have really noticed the weapons used, the flashes of color just seemed like blaster bolts to him, unfamiliar with the concept of lightsabers as he was.

"Please be alright, please be alright." He repeated over and over, as if it was a personal mantra, hoping that the Dathomiri woman was able to save Viati.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

Mia went in and swept someone up from underneath their legs. She had to make sure not to heave them over her shoulder in her enthusiasm before rushing back outside.

"I'm either using the wrong parts of my body or getting shot is worse than I remembered," Mia remarked to Dove with a smile. She patted the impact spot, grunting, before running back in to help the rest until the deed was done.

"Hey kid! You didn't make tonight any more of light show tonight, did you?!"

[Brother Sloan]

"Please be alright, please be alright." He repeated over and over, as if it was a personal mantra, hoping that the Dathomiri woman was able to save Viati.

Panting and heaving from exhaustion, knees bloodied, Sloan lugged himself over to the Aznuri. He looked down in shock to see Viati downed...but at least she appeared to be taken care of.

"Brother!" Sloan addressed the Aznuri with urgency. He'd seen this one coming to the enclave on occasion to deliver some much needed goods.

"Where is Sister Hulia?!"

[Daunt]

Juri checked over Daunt, checking for any lasting injuries. Breathing in, she brought her hand up to his cheek. "I told you to be careful." She whispered, before looking around.

Daunt was injured, but didn't seem to be noticing it. [9 Wounds] He finally started spitting out the ash, and he kept doing it despite his salivation not keeping up with the need for moisture to do so effectively. When he could speak, it was a snort that first came out. "I told you to be careful too. And here we are."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"Brother!" Sloan addressed the Aznuri with urgency. He'd seen this one coming to the enclave on occasion to deliver some much needed goods.

"Where is Sister Hulia?!"

The large Trandoshan roused Ru'ni from his self imposed almost trancelike state.

"Hulia and Hanibu are still unaccounted for." Ru'ni replied as another explosion went off in the near distance. "As are many of our people. It will be hours before we get an accurate tally of those who have moved on to the next step of their journey."

Ru'ni takes a moment to calm his breathing and closes his eyes.

"But maybe...." He reaches out to try and locate Sister Hulia.

Playing Jedi with laowai. Romping around in berry fields like a child. I should have been here earlier. I could have protected them.

He stared as Brother Ru'ni focused.

He was torn between seething rage, a shattered heart, and utter confusion.

"She has to be alright...she has to." , desperate pleas leapt out from under his breath.

Dak hobbled down from his perch barely avoiding detection as blaster fire rained down around him and explosions rocked the conclave. Smoke still curled from his leather jacket where he had taken a hit earlier. He hissed as he put his gun on his back strap pulling the skin a little painfully.

He saw a group of Aznuri cowering nearby and whe went to lead them to the nearest exit, they were mostly old women and young children people not suited for fighting, about 4 of them he was in the middle of it when he saw a bombshell figure that under different circumstances he would have stopped to admire but the pale hair he had seen many times on the other end of a scope "Dove!? Dove Grey? What the....how.....what in the world are you doing here?" His voice was mostly shock he hadn't known she had been on Bankor at all much less in Rygor. He was slipping.

[Jabber]

Things seemed to be getting hectic now, which meant one thing...

Time to leave

Plenty of people had seen him here, which was a bad sign. If there was any guilt in leaving the survivors, there were plenty of people here now. It was time for the Jawa goodbye...

"She is hurt, or about to be, I can't tell but she is alive...for now. Much danger I sense, but that is true for us all."

With great effort, Ru'ni looks Sloan in the eyes and his own soften. "I can't leave Viati, you know why. Sister Hulia is a few hundred yards north east of here, but it will be difficult to reach her."

((OOC - Her fate still hangs in the balance of the event, so no saving the damsel in distress just yet))

"Thank you brother." Sloan bowed deeply to Ru'ni.

"May the Ancients protect Sister Viati...and all of us."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"Run as swift as the wind through the trees Brother, and bring our Sister back safely." He glances around at the destruction that is everywhere. "We have a debt to repay."

[Brother Sloan]

Without saying another word, Sloan takes off in the direction of his mentor.

Petrus considered her a moment. "Good job saving those people. That's what's important." In truth, he was deeply worried about the path she was on, but this was definitely the time to praise the good she was doing.

He reached out a hand to help her out. "Come on. Let's get outta here. Can you walk?" He'd carry her if she needed help, of course.

"Yeah I can walk," she said before lighting a cig.

Without saying another word, Sloan takes off in the direction of his mentor.

The fire, the chaos makes it slow going and there is always another Aznuri that needs aid another person suffering.
