(D2 EE Closed) Don't Be Afraid

Mia walked away from the carnage, grasping her side. She was still in pain but there was work to be done. There, she spotted the infamous 'Floats,' the one that the Empire seemed so keen on stopping. If anyone would be necessary for stopping the Empire, it'd be her.

"Wait!" she called out, hurrying up to the Nautolan. "Heya, I'm Mianerra, but friends call me Mia." She offered her hand forward with a warm smile. "I, uh, think I saw you back at the you-know-where."

Floats had been limping painfully away from the carnage down a side alley, and the look she gives Mia is half pained exhaustion half concern. The Nautolan was bearing at least 3 blaster hits and the once proud boat-worthy wetsuit was ruined.

She gingerly extends a hand and gives Mia a firm squeeze "Yeah I was back at the....the thing, my second thing today, and it was actually worse than the first."

"Your reputation really proceeds, not precedes you. That's what I'm looking for," Mia remarked. She looked over her shoulder, also wary of Imperial spies and informants. "I'm surprised they haven't tried to take you down more. But I like to look at that as proof of the Empire's limits."

"I certainly wasn't trying to become Bankor's most wanted. Okay, the Inquisitor got flash banged..." She tries and fails to restrain a snort "And okay, it fell good as hell. But that wasn't mostly my doing. He's just after me because I'm...a little different. But not this different, plenty of different people out there I hear. Half the planet is different people."

"Wait, you actually did that? Impressive," Mia remarked with an approving nod, "Alright, looks like my gut was right about you." She held up her hands, forming a mock frame around the Nautolan. "Do you see it too? You're like an icon now. Oh, maybe I can get you filmed. Like it or not, your face is already out there as a not-so-content individual."

The blonde then waved her hand, like a Jedi trying to do one of their tricks.

She goes to grab Mia's hand

"I used to be like that, back in the day. But I stopped because I didn't fancy...I didn't fancy what happened today happening. Then it happened anyway! You ever notice it's never the deserving this stuff happens to? You never walk around a corner and a bunch of serial killers or arsonists have been victimized. It's always good honest folk getting the short stick."

As for being filmed...was this woman an amateur film maker? Floats hadn't planned a documentary for at least 6 months of her social media campaign.

"Yeah, but they don't take too kindly to rescuing victimized folk either," Mia said. She looked at her grabbed hand and then gave a soft smile. "Sorry about that, was the subtlest way for me to ask.

"That being said, I understand your fear. But as you said, it's the good folk that get pushed around and it's up to us to stop it. It won't stop on its own."

"Yeah, but they don't take too kindly to rescuing victimized folk either," Mia said. She looked at her grabbed hand and then gave a soft smile. "Sorry about that, was the subtlest way for me to ask.

"That being said, I understand your fear. But as you said, it's the good folk that get pushed around and it's up to us to stop it. It won't stop on its own."

"Oh yeah, sorry. I get clingy with adrenaline and all."
The hand gets released

"Yeah, things are getting worse, and that's for damn sure!....Excuse my language. But what do you think I'm gonna do? Walk out with a laser sword and face down the whole Empire? I'm damn....excuse my language again, I'm darn near useless these days."

"You're fine, don't worry about it." Mia smirked. "We're gonna have to work on your anxiety, that's for sure.

"Well, maybe you'll have to, but you won't have to do it alone. That's what the Empire wants us to believe. But as we just saw, people not even related to you and I were helped by so many people. We outnumber the bullies, and that scares them. As long as we don't lose sight of that, we will have hope for victory."

I don't think that's enough to stop the bullies unless you got one of those kaminoan cloaning vats and a desire for a really weird template."

"You're fine, you're fine," Mia said with a laugh. She then gave a big grin. "An army of you would sure be a sight. But as I said, you don't have to do it alone. If you're good at fixing things, then we might be able to commandeer some wrecks to use for this budding resistance."

Her smile grew because she used the right word this time.

"Well there are all of those wrecks, right? I really got to thinking about that," Mia answered. She looked around, wondering where the stolen speeder had gone. "Arming a bunch of people with blaster pistols is good but having some 'serious firepower' as you said will be necessary.

"I could try to house people in my apartment. Otherwise, that's another thing that needs to be acquired." She doubted that the Aznuri, whom she planned on meeting later, would be keen on many guests. Equipment, though, was what she planned on.

"It's a big group, just not fully aware of other members," Mia admitted. She held up her hands and sighed. "I haven't been on this planet very long. But I'm planning on making sure everyone gets nice and acquainted."

"Not that big, not here. But across the galaxy, there could be. If enough people come together, then we'd easily outnumber them.

"This message cannot reach only the people of Bankor. It must be a galaxy-wide effort."

Floats stands silent for a few moments..... Evidently not much encouraged by all she's learned. Still, what were her alternatives? Just sit in a cabin waiting to die?

"I think you're group's too small. I think it's too ill-equipped. And I think it's overambitious as hell. But, I'll sign up for one mission because business is slow on account of my business no longer existing. Only conditions are we don't go hitting civilians and we ain't sending people in expecting them not to come back out. If you don't play by those rules, that's fine. I can go have my own resistance and we're a big group if we was in a coffin motel."

"Glad you see it my way then, all on accounts," Mia replied, still wearing her smile. She then scratched the back of her head. "That being said, if we, say inconvenience civilians by knocking out the power or something, would you count that? Because knocking out the generators could really help against Imperial security."
