Padawan aren't children it's worth pointing out. It's also 4 years since Order 66 has happened.

They could be! Jedi around this time generally got made padawans around 12-13 years old afaik.

Of course, there's no set limit on how long you can stay a padawan, and even jedi masters can go back to being padawans.

Even if they were 12-13 when they became a padawan, by this time they'd be mid to late teens realistically, so not really children.
