[Day - 2 LA] Fire and Flames [Event RP Thread]

[Petrus Karath]

"Yeah I can walk," she said before lighting a cig.

"Hey." Petrus said, smiling. "You shouldn't smoke. Those things are dangerous."

It was a joke. Nearby, a piece of flaming rubble collapsed. He kept holding his hand out.

[Dapper Dog]

Liua sighed and took his hand.

[Brother Sloan]

The fire, the chaos makes it slow going and there is always another Aznuri that needs aid another person suffering.

Sloan's initial sprint was broken. The path was strewn with sorrowful faces, crying out in pain amongst the pyre. He stopped at each of his ailing Sisters and Brothers and did everything he could. It was the Aznuri way.

[Juri Saizesh]

"Please, can you help her?" Sinnya, voice tight, dropped to her knees next to Viati as Juri got to work. "That weapon the S--the offworlder in black had, I've never seen anything like it." She glanced sideways at Verse. Until you and that Zabrak girl showed up. But even with everything she'd just been through, she wasn't foolish enough to mention the whole Jedi thing.

She breathed in, setting the kit aside. Something inside her burned. The anger and rage and hatred of the Empire, of monsters who would come and put down any who stood in their way.

Over the body of Viata, her fingers curled, as green vapor seemed to coalesce around her hands, her eyes. Taking that anger, balling it up deep inside as her hands made arcane, esoteric motions.

The green flowed into the woman, as Juri took in the pain and anger, letting it flow out of Viata and into herself. That searing need for vengeance, turned to save a life.

"I will do all I can." She spoke through gritted teeth as her magicks worked.

Liua sighed and took his hand.

Petrus pulled her to her feet, and began leading her back towards the others, and safety. He gave her as much support as she needed.

"That thing you did, moving the rubble..." Petrus' voice was a bit hoarse. "Have you ever done anything like that before?"

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

In the aftermath of the TIE strafing run, two droids slowly circled their downed master in the street with rubble strewn around him.

[Dove Gray]

Someone called her name. Dove finished helping the people away from the burning rubble before looking up to see who it was.

"Aw, kriff," she swore. If the Cathar was still the errand boy of what was now the Empire, she was in deep trouble.

[Verse Aura]

"Please, can you help her?" Sinnya, voice tight, dropped to her knees next to Viati as Juri got to work. "That weapon the S--the offworlder in black had, I've never seen anything like it." She glanced sideways at Verse. Until you and that Zabrak girl showed up. But even with everything she'd just been through, she wasn't foolish enough to mention the whole Jedi thing.

"That was a lightsaber," she said; Verse had neither the inclination nor the cunning to avoid such topics. "She was Sith."

Verse watched the witch work then, saw the green vapor work its magic and she instinctively took a step back. She didn't know what kind of Force magic it was, but it didn't look like it belonged to the Light. She almost reached for her lightsaber again, until she saw the effect it was having on Viati.

[Dapper Dog]

“I… used to see stuff before stuff happened I guess but nothing like that, didn’t think anything of it and then the old man made me train with that bucket on my head and had me see without seeing… and yeah… I thought it was magic, but it worked,” she said letting go of his hand once she was stable.

“That was a little different, like it was a rush but it painful,” she said honestly.

Viati nodded her thanks to the witch and said quietly, “Well you have my thanks, perhaps I judged you to quickly.”

[Petrus Karath]

“That was a little different, like it was a rush but it painful,” she said honestly.

Petrus just nodded, as calmly as one could in a combat zone. "Those sorts of things happen, when you're gifted with The Force." He said.

He glanced back over his shoulder. "What you felt there, that was calling on the Dark Side. It's strong, but... well, it's bad. It uses your fear, your anger, and it makes your anger stronger, until you can't control yourself. The guy who's hunting us, the Inquisitor, the Dark Side turned him into a monster."

He smiled at her. "We can show you how to control yourself. Do that sort of thing without giving up yourself."

[Bowze Coppa]

Bowze made his way throught the rubble and the ongoing massacre along with Xanna to the group but the process had been prudent. There was no sense in taking risks that would only sastisfy your own impatience.

That allowed him to notice the droids, amongst other things.

Xanna didn't recognize him because she rarely had time to watch the news. That hair though! Carefully she crouched down and checked for vital signs before nodding at Bowse. "He's alive, just out cold."

The droids seemed awfully insistent that they do something. She noticed Petrus and Liua through the smoke and felt a rush of relief.

[Jurdak Surt]

He said before looking for other Aznuri or injured to help.

"Mblergh . . . " was the weak reply from under the curtain of blonde hair.

Viati nodded her thanks to the witch and said quietly, “Well you have my thanks, perhaps I judged you to quickly.”

"You won't rejoin the Calm this day, sister." Sinnya smiled broadly in relief, even if the witch's healing technique had made her feel a bit unsettled.

"Thank you," she added to Juri. "Can she be moved? We need to get her to safety. And as many others as we can..." She looked around at the chaos, her bright smile quickly fading as the scale of it hit her again. She looked pretty ragged herself, bruised and with an ugly blaster burn starting to blister around the edges on one arm. But her eyes burned with energy, even though it was clear she was running mostly on adrenaline and stims.

((Sinn is at 4/11 wounds (below half health) and has an easy crit... the latter is a bigger problem, tbh, if you feel like rolling again Juri!))

[Bowze Coppa]

<Please check our master is functioning correctly ma'am.> came the monotone from Binky. Dray however was a blizzard of binary beeps as he dropped on his repulsorlifts and repeatedly nudged Ria'la in the ass.

"Mblergh . . . " was the weak reply from under the curtain of blonde hair.

"Do you know him?" He asked Xanna as he jabbed the stim's needle on the man's right ass cheek "That hair looks right out of a telenovela"

She noticed Petrus and Liua through the smoke and felt a rush of relief.

Spotting a familiar pair of yellow eyes from a distance, Petrus couldn't help but smile. He inclined his head briefly... but they were moving in different directions, for now.

He kept escorting Liua to safety.

[Verse Aura]

She still wasn't entirely certain what to make of the technique the Witch had shown. That seemed like something worth talking about at some point, but for now there was so much more to be worried about.

"This is just so much," she said; taking in the carnage same as Sinnya was. Like the Twi'lek, she was a little banged up too, but she wasn't too immediately concerned about it in the face of such evil and suffering. "So many people hurt, where would we even take everyone?"

She shook her head even managing a small smile at the droid's antics. "He is probably one of these holo-show stars that I have been hearing about. Our new junior assistant dishwasher is a big fan."

Xanna reached down and held the pretty man's hand as Bowse injected his rear with stims. "It is going to be fine, but you will soon need to move." She considered just slinging him over her shoulder.

"I only did what I knew I must." She rubbed one of her wrists, feeling the darkness she has taken into her. She stood, looking to the woman. "This place isn't safe." At the word, her eyes darted, looking back to Daunt. "I have a clinic, in the slums. But I don't know if I can treat everyone there. See me there, though." She looked back to those gathered, then rushing to check on her Nightbrother.

Running to him, she looked up to his face. "I promised l would be careful... but this. This isn't what I thought could happen." She let a hand move over his arm, looking over the wounds. "I dragged you into this, didn't I?"

He approached Dove cautiously "Well this is the last place I expected to come across you again. How long ha-" he was cut short by walker fire smashing into the building "on second thought let's catch up later. I have a place in the wild hills come find me there if you want to chat." He said before looking for other Aznuri or injured to help.

Dove ducked down to avoid some flying debris. "Agreed. This isn't the time or place."

That walker looked mighty close. "Alright, folks. Time to skedaddle. No time to dawdle."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak desperately looked around for anyone to help, he wanted to do more. He wanted to help these people to save these people. The chaos around him, people dying left and right, the screams stabbed in his ears, the smell of scorched flesh and ion burned his nose. It was becoming too much, this was more carnage than he had seen during his service.

The Cathar stumbled back into a wall hyperventilating causing more of that acrid stench to enter his body. Eventually he burst what he had eaten for the day spilling out onto the floor, but the shock of it had roused him he wiped his mouth with his sleeve and closed his eyes breathing deeply for a minute.

[Daunt]

Running to him, she looked up to his face. "I promised l would be careful... but this. This isn't what I thought could happen." She let a hand move over his arm, looking over the wounds. "I dragged you into this, didn't I?"

"Then I think we both suffer from contraction of imagination." He shivered ever so slightly under the touch, cooling against his burns. "Yes and no. I am here because of you, but it's been my choice."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Looks like you've made some friends," Mia joked. She waved Dove along to another space of cover and then hugged her tight but briefly.

"We have less time than I thought. I'm going to rally the people of Bankor but I can't do it alone. Get other people to join in, please, and you know me. I can do some parts of the plan but you know actual war.

"Stay in touch. And let's not forget to keep the kid safe."

"What?" Dove blinked in confusion. "Mia, I don't understand... you can't leave me." She laughed nervously, hoping this was some kind of misunderstanding.
