[Day 2 - LE] Going Camping [Closed]

[Qareme Torth]

"That was not what I asked. I do not question the power of others, but when you look upon yourself your thoughts become distracted by those who have imprinted themselves upon you through fear and strength. When you looked beyond the Force, you saw yourself powerful. Are you powerful because you are strong, or because you serve those who are strong?" Qareme asked calmly.

[13th Sister]

"Is there a difference, I beat you," she hissed.

"I am strong..." and then she had to chew her lip under her mask because she knew that she was only as strong as others above her would allow.

[Qareme Torth]

"There is a difference. You are strong, and those who see that have two choices. Control, or eliminate. As long as you can be kept under the control of those who believe they are stronger, you will continue to be as strong as others allow you to be, and once they believe you are no longer a threat or surplus to requirement, then what? If the Jedi are all destroyed now, does Darth Vader continue to require Inquisitors, or do they become the next threat to him?"

Qareme opened her eyes, and looked at the woman.

"I say this not to convince you to spare me. My life is forfeit, and I accept my fate, as I am sure you are aware. I say this to spare you from becoming the next on the list after the Jedi have gone, as once they are gone those who wish to consolidate power will move onto the next target. You are strong, but you are also not a weapon. You are a person, under that mask. Under that suit. Under the clouds of darkness and emotion. That person you saw when you looked inside you is you, not what you wear now to do the bidding of others."

(Can I flip a destiny for thread/speech effect here?)

[13th Sister]

The woman, against her better judgment, searched inward if a stupid Jedi could do what did she have to fear? She could see all the vents that lead her to this moment the self-denials, the trust in the Jedi Council to make the right decisions; choosing the Code over things that mattered, over people that mattered and what did it get her, shot in the back by people she trusted and if not for the fall into the river she would just be another sad story.

Then the time in the shadows until they found her forced her into the light and then brought her before Vader… and freed her mind of all the self-denials and restrictions. Now she was stronger than ever she was freed and then this Jedi dared to lecture her on who she was? She knew who she was and she understood what she needed to be truly free, one last connection before she could truly be free.

But she wasn’t sure if she had the strength to do it, and that was weakness. She broke her silence and said, “This was an interesting exercise, Jedi.”

[Qareme Torth]

Qareme had sat in silence while the Inquisitor searched herself. That the woman's answer was less mocking (at least to Qareme) said to her that the Inquisitor had found something.

"I have done the same for many years. Have you found your answer?"

[13th Sister]

“I found something, if it’s an answer we shall see,” she responded honestly.

[Qareme Torth]

"Then I would say it was not a waste of time for either of us. The answer is always with you, one just needs to look for it with clear vision."

Qareme lowered her head respectfully to the woman.

"I am glad to have been of assistance."

[13th Sister]

The woman looked at her and said, “Do not think this will save you.”

[Qareme Torth]

"I did not do this to save myself. My fate is sealed" Qareme looked up at the Inquisitor "I did this for you. What you do with your discovery is up to you."

[13th Sister]

She kicked the Jedi again but not as hard and said, “You should be more concerned with yourself.”

[Qareme Torth]

Qareme took the kick, falling onto her side again but pushing herself back to seated. Which was still difficult to do while bound.

"I do not need to be. You have been clear about me, have you not? Or has something changed? If it has, I hope it allows these binds to be removed so I can stretch my arms properly."

[13th Sister]

"Clever mouth," she said.

"Tell me about these other Jedi, the one that... broke my weapon."

[Qareme Torth]

"You have asked nothing about me, and your first question is about another. Interesting."

Qareme shook her head.

"Unfortunately I must disappoint you by refusing your request. I will not speak of another."

[13th Sister]

"Jedi," she said rolling her eyes under her helmet.

"Fine since you seem so eager tell me about you... before I kill you."

[Qareme Torth]

"Again with the threat, despite us both knowing you are not going to kill me until he arrives. And my name is Qareme, not simply Jedi."

Qareme paused a moment before adding "although I suppose I have been equally rude, only referring to you as Inquisitor. I do not know who you are after all, other than that."

[13th Sister]

“I am an Inquisitor, that is all I am, Qareme,” she said haughtily.

[Qareme Torth]

Qareme sighed softly, shaking her head.

"I am disappointed. We have already been through an exercise to know that is not true. If I am never leaving this place without joining you or dying, what harm is there in telling me your name?"

[13th Sister]

"The only name that matters is 13th Sister," she said guardedly.

[Qareme Torth]

"13th Sister. I assume that name was given to you then, another piece of your identity lost. A shame."

Qaeme looked up at the woman again.

"Sister it is then. What next, sister? Will I be enjoying your presence daily, or do I sit with my own thoughts until your superiors arrive?"

[13th Sister]

"You're enjoying my presence?" she said with menace.

[Qareme Torth]

"Compared to the prison cell, your company is an improvement" Qareme replied with a smile "so, was I correct to assume you would continue to visit? I am content to meditate alone but if you will be in attendance I am happy to meditate with you."

[13th Sister]

"Our next meeting will be with a torture droid," she said flatly.

[Qareme Torth]

"I see."

Qareme closed her eyes, taking a few moment before speaking again.

"You shall unfortunately be disappointed again, but I suppose there is no other way."
