[Day 2 - EN] The Darkest Hour

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Ru'ni nods. "Arguing has given way to planning. We need a driver, to do some stupid things in a dangerous place. You in?" He asks with a grin.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"Well not trying to brag but I'm willing to bet I'm one of if not the best sniper in here, so I imagine im going with whatever team wants long range support more. Maybe not the speeder team since I need to be relatively immobile to be most effective. Do we know of any good spots that oversee the camp?" He turned and asked Rayne

"If I can get my hands on a weapon, I can try to support the catman. Or I have hunted my forests enough to know how to stay quiet when on the prowl."

[Jurdak Surt]

"Cathar." He said dryly "we are feline in nature but catman is a bit reductive." He wasnt offended but it was a bit of ignorance he wanted to correct. "And hey more blasters the better, I cant make you into a marksman over night but I can show you the basics after the meeting."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Ru'ni offered a sincere apology. "I am sorry for any offense, I am Ru'ni of the Orisini tribe of the Aznuri, I would be grateful for your expertise."

[Astin Denive]

He seemed to consider it a moment tilting his head to the side before shrugging. "Sure."

[Fathynyu Kurrek]

Floats just walks into the gathering, having followed the directions she was given on her commlink. The little digital pin with 'secret resistance meeting' dinged as she reached her destination.

Huh...Mia was right, they were actually an eclectic group. Petrus, Mia, that guy who said she had nice tits. What was this, some kinda suicide squad?

Still, she had said she'd do one mission, and this one was rescuing innocents from prison, so it seemed like a good one. And frankly, how much more notorious could she get? If she ignited her lightsaber the emperor himself would probably jump out of a broom closet at her.

"Uh, howdy, I'm here for the rebellion? Mia invited me so uh, hope that's cool with y'all."

[Dapper Dog]

She was worried, mostly for her brother, and from her location she had a good view of the area. So she took to taking a look around, to see if she could find anyone else that was spying on this little rendezvous.

She didn't, but she might have noticed something...

OOC: There was someone but they noticed her and simply vanished, not ran but literally vanished from sight.

“I can shoot, fly if I have to, and I know that industrial area like the back of my hand,” Sinnya spoke up again. ”I hate it, but I know it. I don’t fear the desert either. I’ll go anywhere you need me.”

((Literally all my talents are chase/navigation related... ))

[Astin Denive]

"Course by the sound of it this young lady might be able to do the job too." He nodded his head towards Sinnya.

"So however you all want to go."

[Jabber]

Jabber raises a hand and looks around. "I mean, I'm still looking for my favor, but I'm not a bad lockpick, and I can pilot a ship without crashing it. But if I don't make the cut, oh well..."

[Bowze Coppa]

Bowze turned to the Jawa

"If you are not a member of one of the teams I might have something that might interest you"

[Jabber]

"Oh? I'm listening." Jabber drops his voice. "I mean, I'm all for payback after today, but...I honestly don't think they appreciate my talents, or listening to any ideas other than charging in blind. And if you've got a way to actually prosper from payback...well, you'll have be hooked"

[Verse Aura]

There was a vague hint of recognition when Floats entered and spoke... but only vague; Verse had forgotten a lot of faces over the years.

"The more the merrier," she said in the assumption that everyone was in agreement. Which they might or might not be of course.

She turned back to the discussion then. "So anyway, I'm fine with whoever's on my team. I trust in the force and the people here. I know Sinnya here certainly has the bravery needed for what we're going to be doing, and I'm sure you have it too," she said toward Astin.

[Bowze Coppa]

The nemoidian sat beside the jawa. In view of their height difference that might be the only way to hold half of a subtle conversation

''If we are to survive the next few months we will need an edge.'' he said in the same hushed tone. ''It is a long shot but if I am correct we could hold something that migth change the power dynamic on Bankor.'' He turned to face the little expert

''But for it to be effective we will need discretion and skill.''

[Jabber]

The Jawa nods, his boisterous demeanor subsiding.

"That's not them." He offers a small nod in the direction of the others. "I mean, I love the spirit, and the Force knows they'll need it. But...look, I think about this like I would a job. You pick a final objective, list the problems, come up with ways to stack your advantages and minimize their strengths, leave room to improvise and have an exit strategy...or two. I ain't seeing any of that here."

"Discretion and skill?" A lockpick pops into Jabber's hand, seemingly unbidden. "I am going to guess that you aren't aware that I'm packing a pair of blasters." Jabber shrugs and the lockpick vanishes back into the folds of his clothes. "Because I haven't even drawn them them in...I don't know how long. Because they're a last resort, if the play it smart." Jabber nods again. "I think we're talking the same language. Well, not literally..."

[Bowze Coppa]

The nemoidian smirked

''I believe we are.'' he looked around ''It is clear you are a professional. Now I'll be honest and upfront with you...this might involve...'' he leaned forward the jawa to had a layer of discretion to the next few words ''...old CIS assets.''

He straightenet but kept the voice low

''Do you have a problem with that?''

[Jabber]

Jabber tilts his head

"Is there a reason why it should?"

He think for a moment. "Oh...you think I might have gotten caught up? Oh no no no. I'm from Tatooine. The Republic didn't even pretend that it was to try taking it from Hutt rule. Best I can tell, the CIS was all "hey, we don't want to be part of the Republic" and the Republic decided it didn't like that. I guess my biggest worry is how active and useful they are since it's been a few years."


Jabber offers a shrug. "Hey, I'm a pragmatist. The Empire less incompetent and LOOOOOT more likely to bash in skulls, but I'm not into this for love of the Republic"

[Jenna Karath]

Jenna sat where she did, it might have been Jax who brought her here but now it was all Jenna. Couldn't help herself, her brother was here, and he knew she was here, there was nothing for it. Jax had to go back into the hole of her past for a little while and... she had to do something stupid again. Something she knew would only cause her trouble but... maybe she could do some good, maybe she could change how this was going to play out. Hard to tell, she knew, from this position. Was why it makes most sense to warn Petrus off and let the others fall for whatever might happen to them.

Petrus though.. she hung her head, probably wouldn't forgive her for it. Even if she was annoyed? Angry? No, not really. She'd always known he was the type to get mixed up in something like this. Was deep down inside him now, this doing good thing, but she wasn't quite sure she had it like them. Jedi trained him well, she supposed, rubbed the corscanti grime off from him and turned him into something respectable. Maybe a bit of an idiot, to her perspective, running off toward danger without care for himself but..

Guess that's what she was gonna go do now, so who's the real idiot here? Stepping out from her hiding spot Jenna raised her hands up on either side of her head with her palms facing outward. "You have a problem," she said to those gathered. Waiting for the inevitable.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus stepped forward, raising his hands. "It's okay! She's my sister. We can trust her."

He looked at her, smiling ruefully. "Even if she is a bit startling sometimes."

[Mahon Jiut]

"Problem, how?" Mahon asked.

[Jenna Karath]

"I wasn't the only one here, that you weren't aware of," she kept her arms up, mostly cause she wasn't the type to take risks. Believe it or not. "Someone else was watching you, I almost saw them but they vanished when I noticed. So, unless that's a friend of yours, someone else just heard your entire planning phase. I may not be some kinda freedom fighter but I've enough experience planning something like this to know you're in pretty deep water if you don't know who that was."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus frowned. "What did they look like? Did you see which way they went?"

[Dapper Dog]

Yusandr frowned at that and said, “They either come for us no or they know, either weay we are kriffed. We go with the plan, if they know then we are screwed and if that was a third party we are kriffed in a different way.”

An agent said, “But then it’s an ambush.”

She replied, “The Empire won’t wait for us to attack if they know what is happening they will turn the slums into a warzone. We know that, we have seen it, my gut says we have a rat of a different color or one of our friends has enemies they are bringing to our table.”

[Jenna Karath]

While the others spoke, she looked to Petrus, "No idea, and they didn't seem to go anywhere just... vanished," she shrugged and with that motion let her arms down.

Looking back, when she finished, "Think a few of you have some more problems than others," she looked to Petrus and Verse, Sinnya too, "Lotta you just outed yourselves in a way you can't take back and someone else saw. Best case, they try to put a few Jedi in your pocket, worst case..." she shuddered a little, after all, one of those people is her brother.

[Sinnya]

The redheaded human's words made Sinnya's skin crawl. Vanished...? Didn't today have enough monsters out of legend already, without adding ghosts and will-o-wisps? Maybe Jenna had just lost sight of whoever it was in the darkness... Sinnya faded back into the crowd, scanning its edges with her eyes and ears.

edit: It occurs to me that Uncanny Senses is a Force talent, btw, though it doesn't throw Force dice or anything. I leave it to the discretion of the local Force Sensitives whether to notice or not.
