Rannek had made an internal promise to climb up the stairs to see the kid every time he came to get in a good work-out... but the events of the day had been work-out enough in his estimation so he let himself take it easy and rode the elevator up.
He walked over to the home of the elderly woman and while it was late he wanted to see if she was still up.

Like how can you be that happy all the time, unless someone is watching you and waiting for you show any hint of sadness.”
