"Or you get paid now and walk away," she offered not phased she knows a stun setting when she sees it.

"That bounty is a joke this is better than you can get from the guild."

"That's a fair point this is double what the bounty is but counter point what's to stop us from knocking you out taking this money and then also collecting the bounty?" He asked with a quirked eyebrow.

Daunt beat him to it.

"Baji Hrugos it is then? Ah, the lover of hunting, music and singers. We might have met him. A father, an uncle to you? Shouldn't he have snuffed out this bounty if he cared for you that much?"

"He's a hard man, but has a soft spot for me," she said.

"You could try and take it all I guess... I never considered that."

"I never claimed a moral high ground honey. But I have to make a living and not too many opportunities out there for someone with my skill set other than hunting people for money. Most of the time those people are dangerous and in this game if people know you can just be bought off well it's bad for business. Now I feel like we've been fairly reasonable" he looks at Daunt "wouldnt you say weve been fairly reasonable big guy?" He returns his attention to her "but I'm still waiting for that reason that we shouldnt haul you in. And lady I dont like waiting much at all."

Daunt playing the nice guy was interesting, but there you go. "If it's a charming way to say that I am ruthless, then you may have a point. So how about this. We don't proceed with the bounty and just come back and play cards with you from time to time. And drop a name. And then, Captain Hrugos loses interest in that particular name. Would such arrangement make sense to you and fit that soft spot?"

"Sure unless that ruins your buddy's rep," she offered.

Dak sat back and mulled it over for a bit it was an interesting proposal and in all honesty he didnt care that much about his rep he just needed something to make her believe he was earnest. "I suppose it could work, sounds like an interesting arraignment. But out of curiosity if the man has so much of a soft spot for you how come he hasn't taken care of the bounty on your head already?"

“Dad wants me to come crawling to him and ask, and I’m an independent woman, mostly,” she said honestly.

“He likes to feel like he saved me.”

Dak shrugged "Well I'll leave the family drama to the family." He went to scoop the creds into the sack he pulled off his back. "Well you know you do seem useful and this is a decent payday." He scrawled his comm info down "if you need any thing gimmie a call. I figure this can be a I scratch your back you scratch mine situation."

"Oh?" she said leaning back in her chair, "Well this is a turn of events, so what should I call you?."

"You can call me whatever you like, I usually go by Dak. And this encounter has proven singularly lucrative and useful. I imagine you're a woman with connections and in my world connections are extremely valuable so this can likely be a mutually beneficial relationship. Besides there are likely other hunters looking for you and some do have a stronger adherence to a code. I know I saw a mandalorian around Rygor recently and those people are all about codes and honor so keep your head on a swivel."

Daunt nodded. "The independent streak is something I can appreciate. But since the bounty won't go away by itself, do give Dak a call if you meet some trouble from the hunters. if we and our friends get more breathing space, it is only fair that so do you."

She agreed and said, "Well to a mutually beneficial relationship, my new friends."

"Now I have to make a rather... unfun call."

"Then maybe a round of something good before that. On Dak." Daunt smirked.

Dak shrugged "I suppose I can spare the credits, least I can do to celebrate our new relationship." He said returning the smile

Daunt called the service. Once they had downed the farewell drink, he rose. "Let's give Baji some space to sort things out."

Dak nodded "yeah seems like a good plan." He gave Bajo a wink as they left "please dont hesitate to call."

"So, does it finish our adventure with bounty hunting?" He asked Dak after they'd left. "The Guild keeps offering to those who don't deliver?"

Dak shrugged "Yeah I mean the guild doesn't care who takes bounties or how they turn out unless you regularly kill bounties marked for capture or attack other hunters. The guild has rules but theres nothing in there that cares about performance." He pulled out a pile of credits and put it in a smaller bag and handed it to Daunt "Heres your cut by the way, you were very helpful after all so I figure a 50/50 split sounds fair."

"It's fair. Thank you for being fair, Dak. That bodes well for our future cooperation." He paused to take his cut. "We should go on a hunt together sometime."
