[D3LE] Warrior's Heart: A New Chapter

[Petrus Karath]

Two benches. Four chairs. A table with snacks, drinks, and plates. Lighting pleasantly low. The usual clutter was put away. Holoprojector freshly wiped down. Remote set on the kaf table in front of their usual couch. Yes. Everything was ready. Tonight, he and his friends would embark upon an epic journey, full of romance, intrigue, violence... more than a bit of corniness, melodrama, and possibly a little bit of gratuitous nudity. Well, there was a reason it was a guilty pleasure.

Now, he just needed people to show up.

As he waited, Petrus frowned at the thermostat. Seemed perfectly fine for now... with as many people as he was expecting it might heat up a bit. Jaw setting, he jabbed it with his finger, turning it down a good few degrees, shivering just a little as the hydroconditioner blew fresh cold air on him. "That's better." He muttered, gritting his teeth.

Moving to the door, he waited for his first guest.

[Sacha Ordo]

The first to show up, along with some promised snacks, is one here out of cultural interest. She entered and popped them onto the table before waving at Petrus. "Good to see you."

[Petrus Karath]

"Hey, Sacha!" Smiling, Petrus gave her a finger-gun greeting. "Thanks for coming and giving a bit of credibility to the party. Feel free to comment on the show as we're watching. That's, like, half of the fun."

"Help yourself." People who knew Petrus might note a change in the composition of the snacks. Less packaged junk food, more cram-berries, other fruits and veggies, and cheese.

[Sacha Ordo]

"Oh, believe me, you won't be able to stop me. I'm a part time historian with a questionable sense of humor," she replied, grabbing a few things, a drink, and a straw before settling into a good seat. "Expecting quite a few, huh?"

[Dapper Dog]

Liua knocked at the door, she wore actually nice clothes well nice for her a dress she borrowed from the soup kitchen and even had on... makeup well lipstick. She wore her customary poncho over the dress of course.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus smiled. "Sounds great. And I dunno, I few people. The neighbors, a few friends."

Liua knocked at the door, she wore actually nice clothes well nice for her a dress she borrowed from the soup kitchen and even had on... makeup well lipstick. She wore her customary poncho over the dress of course.

Opening the door, Petrus blinked surprise. Liua owned a dress? And lipstick? Huh. Maybe she'd just finished a date with some teenage boy or something. "Hey. Liua. Wow. You look really nice." Petrus said, politely and sincerely. He held the door open. "C'mon in. You're the second one here. Sacha, Liua." He cleared his throat. He'd made sure when issuing invitations to add that not everyone here should be let in on their secrets.

[Sacha Ordo]

Sacha nodded to the girl, who looked only a couple of years younger than her. "Pleased to meet you."

[Dapper Dog]

She walked in and said, "Hi, nice to meet you."

She carefully removed her poncho and said, "Thanks Petrus, you look... nice."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus looked down at himself. Actually, he was wearing his nice new top, the burgundy one that fit him well... not that he was trying to impress anyone or anything. He looked back and forth between Sacha and Liua. "Thanks. Although maybe I'm a bit underdressed." He said, chuckling softly.

He jerked a thumb towards the corner. "Coat-rack's there." He said, glancing towards the door.

[Sacha Ordo]

Sacha shrugged within her armor. "You say with the person with one outfit for every occasion," she joked.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus grinned. "Yeah. But it works for every occasion, doesn't it?"

[Brother Sloan]

Sloan ducked in through the doorway with two very large, cooked birds slung over his shoulders.

"Greetings." His bassy voice filled the room. He bowed low and with him the two birds rear ends raised a bit.

"At first I thought this seems a strange time to be relaxing. But Liua informed me that 'Chilling out' may restore some much needed morale." He slung the birds from his shoulders on to one of the chairs.

"So I'm here to watch a heart of a warrior."

[Petrus Karath]

"Warrior's Heart." Petrus corrected, even as he swooped in to rescue his chair from some birds. Cooked, he was happy to see. "It's... well, you'll just have to see."

He moved them over to the table. "Good to see you here, Sloan." He gave his big friend a smile, his blue eyes concerned.

[Xanna Teevou]

Xanna had repaired that dress especially for Liua and was delighted to see how nice she looked. She had been slightly delayed after forgetting to bring something to the gathering and going back for it. The door was still wide open in the manner in which Sloan had left it.

"Hello? I brought smoothies for this chilling out we will be doing." She wasn't sure of the protocol for watching a holo-melodrama or whatever this was, but she had dressed nicely in a white and grey number that went well with her skin tone. A pair of big steel flasks from the kitchen were full of Cramberry smoothie.

[Sacha Ordo]

Sacha waved to both newcomers. "I'm Sacha. Pleased to meet you."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus' expression brightened. "Hey, Xanna! Glad you could make it. Wow. You look gorgeous in that outfit." He flashed her a quick grin.

"Uhh..." He brushed one hand back through his hair. "Here, I got those." He reached out, taking the flasks, guiding them to the table. "Make yourself comfortable. Get ready for an hour of time-travel Mandalorian action."

Even as he set out some glasses, pausing to take one for himself, Petrus glanced at his chrono. Hopefully the rest would get here soon...

"Always a joy to see you friends." He responded in kind with a very toothy smile of his own to Petrus and Liua.

He bowed to the armored individual in the room. "Is this the Warrior's Heart that you're speaking of? Will they be performing the drama tonight?"

He turned when he heard another enter the door. "Oh,hi Xanna."

There was actually a wheeze of restrained laughter from under the helmet. "No, just commenting on it. I'd make a terrible actor."

[Brother Sloan]

"I see. Forgive me. You certainly have a Warrior's Heart look about you." Sloan extended his arm.

"An honor to meet you. I'm Brother Sloan of the Aznuri."

[Sacha Ordo]

"I see. Forgive me. You certainly have a Warrior's Heart look about you." Sloan extended his arm.

"An honor to meet you. I'm Brother Sloan of the Aznuri."

She took the extended arm in greeting briefly. "Quite all right. I'll take that as a compliment." She wasn't sure how to address that elephant in the room. There wasn't really a standard 'get well soon' wish for genocide. "It's an honor, as well, Brother Sloan."

[Xanna Teevou]

Sacha waved to both newcomers. "I'm Sacha. Pleased to meet you."

"Hello Sacha." The Pantoran faintly smiled and approached, setting down the smoothie containers before placing a hand over her heart. "I am Xanna Teevou. It is nice to meet you, are you one of Petrus' old friends?" She didn't recall hearing about a Mandalorian before.

Liua fussed with her dress again and then frowned not sure if she was doing this whole pretty thing right like she saw in the holovids. She then frowned at the fact that she didn’t like the feeling of not knowing what to do or hat to do with her hands.

“So why did you say this was a mature show, Petras. You don’t think I am mature! I am very mature,” she said harshly. “This better be cool.”

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

Vaya came in without knocking or other formalities. She was dressed in her usual nondescript streetwear, rumpled from a long time spent sitting in front of a console. “Hey Petrus.” A glance took in the array of people, and she quickly noticed that many of them were dressed more nicely than, she assumed, they usually did, unless Petrus had made a bunch of upscale friends and never mentioned it. Even he had on a nice shirt she had never seen him wear before. Her face betrayed nothing. Her atennapalps might have retracted slightly.

“I just got back. I need to change, but I’ll be right over," she said, extremely casually, and turned around before Petrus could try to introduce her to anyone. Three long steps took her to her apartment door across the way, and as she entered she tried to remember where the clothes she kept to talk to officials she wanted things from were, and whether they were clean.
