[D3LE] Warrior's Heart: A New Chapter

Mia slid did, as Mia often did, keeping her hands in her pockets as she sidestepped up to the kid.

"So, uh, you think we're going to be able to do this without impending doom? Look at who gathered." She gave a bemused grin. "There's going to be a lot to clean up."

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

Vaya accepted the others' introduction with a confidence half-felt, listened as the conversation moved on, and then shifted closer to one talking pair.

"That twenty mega-rancor thing. Man... I just about died."

Gasp "No way! I thought that was just how it was!"

"And that," she said, talking to Sacha and Fathynyu, but voice pitched and eyes aimed at Petrus as if they were continuing an argument of long standing, "is the real danger of this show." She held up her glass, one finger pointed as if lecturing. "Miseducation of the viewing public."

[Petrus Karath]

"Hey, I can handle it, Mia." Petrus grinned. "Although, thanks for the help earlier with the, uh... you know, cleaning." He cleared his throat. Actually, she'd washed the dishes...

He checked his chrono. "Now just my sister..."

[Jenna Karath]

One last check in the mirror.

Makeup, check, basic every day makeup this time. Hair brushed, nice and orderly. Clothing nice and casual, her usual affair, kinda looked like a jumpsuit that tucked into some cargo-type pants with a belt. Something sustainable and easy to move in, she wasn't the flashiest of girls most days and this day was no exception.

Nod, into the mirror.

Cleaning up a few things around her bedroom, so it didn't look like a mess when she opened the door, she listened to the clamoring of voices outside. Seemed like this little home was the most alive it had ever been... it was nice, really nice, she held that thought for a second. Warmth of it filling her a little, giving herself some hope, and then she let it go. Time to join the others, no time to stand here and day dream.

Shifting the door open she slid out and closed it once more, offering smiles to all that caught her eye as she made her way around the room seeing if anything needed some immediate tending to. Snack refills, drink refills, the works. Was certainly a... much larger crowd than she expected and that went double true for the Trandoshan. When did her brother become friends with a Trandoshan? She shrugged off the thought.

"Everyone here?" she asked her brother, once she'd made her way across the room toward him and up by his side.

[Sacha Ordo]

"And that," she said, talking to Sacha and Fathynyu, but voice pitched and eyes aimed at Petrus as if they were continuing an argument of long standing, "is the real danger of this show." She held up her glass, one finger pointed as if lecturing. "Miseducation of the viewing public."

"There you go. Like, how much effort does it take to get a Mandalorian on staff? There's a whole planet and then some of us," she said, waving a hand in the air. "Some of the New Mandalorians are somewhat halfway decent historians, and they're willing to share."

She waved to Jenna. "Hello. I'm Sacha."

[Fathynyu Kurrek]

"Aww Fooey, so is it offensive for me to be wearing this shirt? Because I can take it off, if it's real bad. don't wanna be one of those miseducating folk."

Mia patted Petrus on the shoulder and walked towards Dove. She leaned in, whispering, "So is inviting a bunch of other women a tactic to get his crush to, well, be pressured to dating him?"

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

"Aww Fooey, so is it offensive for me to be wearing this shirt? Because I can take it off, if it's real bad. don't wanna be one of those miseducating folk."

"Aww, no!" said Vaya, maybe too quickly. "That's a great shirt. Looks great on you." She sipped her drink, which reminded her it wasn't really a sipping kind of beverage, and made a face. "I was joking, mostly." She looked at Sacha. "I don't know how to put this, but what vintage of Mandalorian are you?"

She gave Jenna the familiar sort of wave you give in greeting to someone you see every day.

[Petrus Karath]

Everyone here?" she asked her brother, once she'd made her way across the room toward him and up by his side.

Petrus smiled. "Hey, sis. Good of you to show up." He said. He didn't give her a full hug, but a little one-armed hug.

He sat down on one of the couches near the middle, picking up the remote from the table. "Should be starting any minute now!" He called. "Have a seat!" He turned on the Holoplayer, while dimming the lights...

[Sacha Ordo]

"Aww Fooey, so is it offensive for me to be wearing this shirt? Because I can take it off, if it's real bad. don't wanna be one of those miseducating folk."

"No, it's cool. I rant, but I wouldn't be here if I didn't also find it funny."

"Aww, no!" said Vaya, maybe too quickly. "That's a great shirt. Looks great on you." She sipped her drink, which reminded her it wasn't really a sipping kind of beverage, and made a face. "I was joking, mostly." She looked at Sacha. "I don't know how to put this, but what vintage of Mandalorian are you?"

"It is a great shirt." She looked to Vaya. "Clan or faction?"

"Oh, we're starting..."

Naturally as a glove she slide into the one armed hug in the same fashion, before breaking off with a little grin and then moving about toward the kitchen to take stock of what they yet had available. Seeing the cold storage emptied some she found herself pulling another small case of drinks out from under a nearby counter and hoisting a few more inside to get them cool. All the while Petrus fixed up the projector to start playing.

"Anyone need anything?" she called out to the assembled room from the kitchen, glancing around as the lights dimmed to see any turning heads or hands.

[Fathynyu Kurrek]

"No, it's cool. I rant, but I wouldn't be here if I didn't also find it funny."

"Aww, no!" said Vaya, maybe too quickly. "That's a great shirt. Looks great on you." She sipped her drink, which reminded her it wasn't really a sipping kind of beverage, and made a face. "I was joking, mostly." She looked at Sacha. "I don't know how to put this, but what vintage of Mandalorian are you?"

"It is a great shirt." She looked to Vaya. "Clan or faction?"

"Oh, we're starting..."

"Well that's swell of you to say, mind if I squeeze on in?"
If there's space, floats will definitely try and fit between Vaya and Sacha as she excitedly starts munching on snacks as the lights dim for the show. Oooh, she was excited!

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

"Anyone need anything?" she called out to the assembled room from the kitchen, glancing around as the lights dimmed to see any turning heads or hands.

"We all got legs, Jenna! Get a seat."

She gestured Fathynyu between her and Sacha on one of the benches. "C'mon, the opening credits are actually pretty good. And you'll be totally lost without the recap."

Lightheartedly, she rolled her eyes, moving over toward the room and pulling up her favorite refurbished seat she'd totally gotten in the most legitimate manner possible. Shifting about she grabbed herself a drink and then settled it down beside the chairs leg, before finally taking a seat and settling in for the show.

[Dove Gray]

Dove finished the round of greetings.

"Sacha, a pleasure. Never met a Mandalorian before." I wonder if she'll take off her helmet. "Ah, Vaya, right? Neighbour!" Hey, I think I saw you earlier... "Jenna, good to see you again." . . . Did I see you too earlier?

Mia patted Petrus on the shoulder and walked towards Dove. She leaned in, whispering, "So is inviting a bunch of other women a tactic to get his crush to, well, be pressured to dating him?"

"Oh... I didn't think of it like that," she rubbed her chin, looking over the gathering. "Very clever. I fully endorse it."

Since they were starting, Dove took one of the places in the back, as she was one of the taller ones here. Which did put her next to Sloan.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Huh, I thought the kid picked it up from you. Certainly didn't get it from me."

[Xanna Teevou]

"Oh, hello Mia, hello Jenna. Good to see you. Have you met Liua?" She gave a little wave as the other women arrived. So it was Sloan, Petey, and all the women he knew? Or did he only hang out with women and Sloan?

[Jenna Karath]

Jenna gave a nod, a wave, a smile and, "Heya Dove, always good havin' you guys over."

Xanna took her attention quick too, "Uh, yea, she's the blur that came outta your shop the other day, sure I seen her around," she chuckled, "glad you could make it though, Xanna, happy to see a friendly and familiar face."

[Dove Gray]

"Huh, I thought the kid picked it up from you. Certainly didn't get it from me."

"Well, maybe?" Dove wasn't going to declare herself blameless to the other mom. "I may or may not have mentioned the harem-solution in passing," she whispered.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Shh, shh..."

Mia straightened up and waved at Xanna.

"How does the Trandoshan fit in?"

[Petrus Karath]

Perhaps fortunately, Petrus couldn't hear Mia and Dove speculating. The show was about to start...

"Previously, on Warrior's Heart..." the narrator was an older man, rough and weathered.

A man and a woman, standing together in their undergarments, before a Mandalorian in full armor holding hammer and tongs. "Do you, Jaina Clearbrooke, take this man, Dacen Stormheart..." An explosion cuts of his words, blaster fire beginning to rain down, screams everywhere

"Those are the two main characters. She's from, like, eighty years ago, but she traveled through time. I told you guys that, right? Uh..."

The preview went on.

"You can't leave them." Jaina was yelling, tears in her eyes.

Dacen slammed his hands on the table. "I have to. I'm sorry. But I swore an oath. My hands are tied, cyar'ika."

"But our baby..." "ENOUGH!"

Jaina turned away, her chin tilting up. "Than I shall save them without you." She whispered, as his gaze dropped.

"So, when they cleansed the corrupted spirit of the First Mandalore, her baby inherited some of his essence, and... shoot..." Petrus stopped as the next recap came.

A Caamasi woman reeled back in horror. "No! They must be told! You can't keep this secret!"

She ran from the room, making to the top of a flight deck. And then, screaming, she fell, to lie crumpled on the ground. The holorecorder snapped back to the view above, a man's face hidden in darkness, handsome but cold...

"That was gonna be the best man at their marriage, you know, before the Kryze attack..."

Monitors beeped, the Caamasi woman was lying in a hospital bed. Jaina was there, holding her hand.

"Thank goodness you're awake, Aaliq. Are you okay?" Aaliq (apparently) shook her head, her eyes widening.

"I don't know. I can't remember... I can't remember anything!"

Warrior's Heart

Melancholy string instruments began to play, with the occasional martial horn note, and drums. And the occasional manly grunt.

[Fathynyu Kurrek]

Floats watches with her eyes wide

"The story just has so many layers."

[Dove Gray]

"Shh, shh..."

Mia straightened up and waved at Xanna.

"How does the Trandoshan fit in?"

She continued in a hushed tone. "Gotta hide the fact that he only invited chicks, but can't bring along another guy that's competition. And he's like... not competition, due to being... well." A lizard.

Then she focused on the show. She had missed a couple of episodes lately, but she felt like a lot had happened since last time, and yet very little had happened at the same time.

[Sacha Ordo]

Sacha's head was already tilted in confusion. "He's putting an oath before a kid? Wow, that's... different..." At least she was engaged right off the bat.

[Dapper Dog]

She watched she wasn’t as sure if she was as into it as everyone else seemed to be but she didn’t want to seem the odd girl out so she tried to follow along. Plus if Petrus like it, it had to be okay.
