[Day 3 - MM] Suicide Squad Operation

Finally back on the ship, Qareme was careful to ensure the Senator had something to hold onto - even if it was just herself. She looked over the prisoners, then at the resistance members on the ship, before her eyes settled on Petrus.

Djanik swore as the base blew, the shockwave sending the transport sliding sideways before he regained control, and then he punched the engines, sending them roaring down the canyon, and then rising up into the air.

As they were flying away, his fingers danced across the board one last time, this time tying into the scanners to make a quick search for a clue, boosting the aft scanners to sweep the canyon on his way out.

I have to say though you picked perhaps the most reckless way possible to regain your hope. It worked out in the end however, not just for me but all the prisoners. We will be able to reunite families and give hope to many others."

She paused, adding "what happened to the Inquisitor though?"

His sensors pick up something and he can pinpoint on the map, but it is out of the way from the return rendezvous.

Djanik just made a mental note, and wiped the logs.

Easing back into the chair, he relaxed a little on the return flight.

When they got there, he would suggest trading stolen Imperial equipment with the scrap king for something a little less... easily traced.

That would be up to the leaders of this little band of misfits - he'd answered the call of action, and it felt damn good to make a difference, no matter how small.

Dak sidled up next to Dove and rested a hand on her shoulder if she looked toward him he would give her a slight nod before blending back into the speeder crowd heading toward Petrus to make sure he was ok.

Djanik was surprised to see Dak there.

It seemed more than one criminal in Rygor had a grudge to settle with the Empire.

Still, while the rest chatted, he couldn't really leave the controls, so he sat alone in the cockpit, watching the sands of the great dune sea pass below.

Dak looked down toward him "You ok ki- Petrus?" Anyone who made it through what they just did was no kid. He had earned that much.

Petrus shook his head, coming back to himself, before looking at Dak, smiling just a little. "Yeah. Sure. I'm fine. Thanks, Dak."

He leaned back against the wall of the transport letting out a puff of breath. "I'd say it's been a while since I've done something like that..." He chuckled softly. "But I think that's the first time I've done anything quite like that."

Dak clapped his shoulder "Ah and you're better for it, a little life threatening chaos tends to put things in perspective. Let's you know what's really important to you."

"Reckless..." Petrus shrugged. "It was what I needed to do. I had a feeling."

His gaze went distant at the touch on his shoulder; he would be like that when Dak made his way to him.

As Petrus went distant, Qareme just quietly said "thank you" before he was approached by someone else. The man received a nod from the large Zabrak before she gazed around the crowd.

So many people either hurt mentally or physically...and many willing to help them. It is a good day.

Her gaze finished on the Senator holding on tight.

"You are almost there Senator. What will you do with your freedom?"

During their timely escape Xanna had spotted the tall Zabrak from her vision. Knowing that she had been freed was enough. The Force really had been with them!

She moved through the transport, checking up on the evacuated former captives and dispensing kindness, or stims, as she went.

She hands back the staff with a broad smile of her own.

It was a dry joke to distract from the pain as she closed her eyes and said, "I never thought I would be out of there."
