"The industrialists and the planetary admins have more in common with the Hutts than with most people in Rygor." Old bitterness colored Sinnya's voice. "Hasn't it always been that way? The only difference is they aren't ashamed of it any longer, so they quit pretending to care."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Somewhat, but now it's a bit worse," Mia said, "Before, it was more subtle sorts, like having money inequality. Now they're outright trying to take people to death camps."

[Sinnya]

"Instead of letting industrial waste and accidents do the dirty work for them?" Sinn snorted derisively. "They sometimes have to pay out compensation for that, I s'pose."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"I think in that case it's more laziness than actual malice," Mia said, "Not that that makes it excusable. But there's a difference in intentions there."

[Sinnya]

"Does it matter that much?" Sinnya shrugged, trying to look more casual than she felt. "Whether it's firing squads or chemical spills... they think they deserve their profits more than other people deserve to live." Some sharpness came through despite her effort to downplay it.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"I suppose it doesn't. But one is more obvious than the other, and if it's more obvious, then it's easier to convince people that they need to stop it."

[Sinnya]

"Yes. Hmm." Sinnya chewed on that for a bit.

"People should notice both. But you must start somewhere."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"If we're lucky, maybe one day we can all just live simple lives and not have to worry about so-and-so trying to kill someone randomly for the fun of it," Mia said with a shrug, "That's my dream, at least."

[Sinnya]

"That sounds... nice. Far off, but nice."

Sinnya drew herself up, hearing a sound nearby that might have been an Imperial patrol speeder. It wasn't, but... "I should get going. It isn't smart for us to hang around in groups looking like we just dug our way out of the desert, probably."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Right. Back to the mundane of our lives, I suppose." Mia gave a single wave goodbye. "Hope to see you around, Blue."

[Sinnya]

"I will be surprised if you don't, and soon... Gold." Sinnya chuckled as she slunk toward the end of the alley, pausing for a careful look round before she ducked out.
