[Day 3 - MA] The Vrakul Trident Heist [Heist Event]

Dotted with fishing towns this rugged coastline is a frontier region relatively free of Imperial interference.

Another guard was quick to find, and she made her move, "You," she looked them over, "Boss said we have to go make a run of the secure rooms. Wants you with me," nodding her head over her shoulder she indicated for him to lead the way.

Standing there she'd crossed her arms over her chest, broadened up her shoulders, and tried to think of the most dour and serious topic at all times. Gave her something of the right appearance but...

Venator had received the comm from Vaya but decided to remain silent in case they were overheard. He starts looking around for Bowze. Eventually he finds him along with a pretty lady leaving a bedroom.

" 'Cuse me folks but da cap'n wands everyone back ad da pardy soon. Some sord of announcemend I guess." He starts to walk away.

Then turns around. "Jus dun dake doo long." There is perhaps some sort of smirk in his voice as he returns to patrolling.

Once away from anyone else he finds someplace quiet to quickly report in. "God id. Clear for now. I suggesd we finish dis dance soon."

Rolling her eyes Jax looked off elsewhere, a most bored but perceptive member of security.

"As you wish," she said, moving her hand up toward her cheek, opening her mic in the process with a gentle shift of her position, a brush of her hair that kept the earpiece revealed and ready. Tapping her boot on the ground just a few times during the rather short interval of time.

"No can do newbie, in fact you should be in Sector Besh-3, get moving," he said and then went back to watching the party.

He added, "Always the green shirts."

Jax, again, rolled her eyes and then proceeded off toward the place she best suspected was Sector Besh-3. Seemed like it'd be closer to the front of the boat, she figured, given the numerical system but other than that it wasn't too much to go on.

Once she was away, far enough, she put her hand back up to her mic to transmit, "Sector Besh-5, that's where it's at. Someone find themselves a map," and then dropped her hand back to her side. Re-assuming her newfound duties.

A series of quick cuts, as the banal-ly attired Vaya flits amongst the powerful of the underworld and the bureaucracy. It shows her leaning in to one and then another of the rougher customers -- gangsters, goons, and throat-cutters in synthsilk and finery (or very minimalist swimwear). Each time she is supposedly carrying a message from some other faction, or an anonymous tip:
"... said 'no deal.'"

"They're making some kind of arrangement with Black Sun, behind your back..."

",.. turned informant."

" -- said your mother was a gundark..."
... and then escaping, leaving no messenger to shoot.

She had neither the ability nor the desire to bring things to boiling over, but the tensions visibly rise throughout the boat. The crew and security team found themselves strained -- by requests for messages to be passed, private rooms for clarifying meetings, for more drinks; and one or two fights to be broken up. A number of opportunities created:

For Bowze to get a voice-print from the first mate, a Duros flustered by both circumstances and the attention of whatever the equivalent of a "silver fox" was for blue-skinned, bug-eyed species.

For Jax, properly attired as a guard, to stand in front of the vault door, slicer bracelet exposed by a rolled-up sleeve, as it swings open.

For Venator to come upon one of the escape craft, in the tumult.

So, 7 successes and 2 threat! A setback to the next roll.

Bowze did not know how Vaya got him to try to seduce the first mate and he did not want to know. He was still preoccupied by his side dealings with his own assassin and was somehow off his game.

Sigh

At least things were moving along.

More then willing to stop making unwanted advances on the duros first mate, Bowze made his way to the vault through the unlocked door.

Let's see what we can get

Inside the vault there is a black case, unmarked and sealed with a digital lock. On the walls were some artistic pieces most too large to carry but there was a crate of aurum sitting against a wall and the body of a male chadrafan in a rather dapper suit, pale from death and blood loss.

Bowze's eyes grew wide at he sight of the black case.

Wait...is that a bomb?

Then his eyes wandered to the chadrafan

Security system perhaps?

He looked around to check for a hidden auto-gun, without stepping inside.

Bowze can tell there is no internal security but there is a wrinkly by opening the door they have tripped a notice to the security team, it’s a common system used by the CIS to alert security on staff when secure areas are accessed less an alarm and more a notice which means they will start checking to see who accessed and will know this was not scheduled.

If they are competent they have only a handful of minutes before they are swarmed by elite security.

Vaya spoke over her commlink while edging past a group of shouting Klatoonians and Weequay. "Are you in? Are we happy?"

''Security is on us, they will be here in a few minutes...at best'' he replied ''Prepare evacuation ASAP''

Bowze moved in the vault and loaded the corpse on crate before activating the repulsor lift under the aurum cache. He promptly made his exit towards the boat, grabbing the target on the way out. He activated the door's shutting down manœuvre to give them more time.

The Inquisitor guided her to the Admiral who was in the middle of a conversation with officials from Rygor. He opened with greetings, “Admiral Yulani, I see that you were roped into this as well.”

“This is my agent, Dove, Dove Gray.”

Image
Admiral Yulani said, “Charmed, I am sure.”

She stepped away from the officials and added, “I give you points for rescuing me from those sycophants and vultures, Inquisitor. Things are a mess here on Bankor, that needs to change.”

“Let’s keep this unclassified, I don’t know her and the Inquisitorius has proven themselves reckless. By the by, the wine is actually good, small miracle,” she said taking another sip.

“So Agent Gray, give me a debrief on yourself.”
"It's an honor, admiral," she greeted in return but kept it short, watching the interaction between the two to understand more of the dynamic between the Inquisitor and the Admiral.

So it was some small surprise that the admiral decided to actually ask. ... I think this one might be more dangerous than the Inquisitor, for completely different reasons.

"Dove Gray, from Arkania originally," she stood more at attention out of habit. "I'm a bounty hunter, occassionally a musician. The Lord Inquisitor brought me on a couple of days ago to assist in the search for the criminal Oraka Hin. My initial search has indicated the Jaklu farmlands, but I have not been able to follow up on the lead after yesterday's raid on the Aznuri enclave as it has caused a lot of commotion around Rygor and Jaklu, as well as a chaotic environment with the flood of survivors and refugees."

Which actually was a save for the Inquisitor too, since he was taking her out on dates.

"My work as a bounty hunter has made me familiar with a wide range of firearms as well as hand-to-hand combat."

The Admiral replied, “Which begs the question of what was the point of that debacle? If we wanted to destroy the Aznuri primitives the Dictator could have leveled surgical turbo laser blasts into that region and been done with it, instead you waste resources chasing after these religious fanatics and their mysticism. If you wanted something you turned a great deal of people against us, be thankful the Aznuri were a marginalized people or this could have been a disaster.”

She sighed, taking a sip of wine and then handed off the rest to a passing server and said, “What is the mood in the city, Agent Gray? Are the people celebrating this Imperial Triumph?”

Dove pressed her lips together, but in this case, the truth was probably going to be the most disastrous for the interplay in the Imperial ranks.

"It does not seem very well recieved, ma'am. The most mild opinions seem to be feeling inconvenienced by the event; workers being late in their commute because of delays, suddenly even more people in the poor neighbourhoods, which causes concern for security and the state of things," she said honestly of things she had picked up in her neighourhood and on the way around Rygor.

"On the other side of the spectrum, you have those who see this as an attack on Bankor's cultural heritages on reasons that seem vague to understand for most people. Claims on the holonet is that it was an unprovoked attack without any legal or moral legs to stand on, which is an opinion that has trended strongly from what I last saw earlier this afternoon. If this opinion is given more fuel to its fire, it could lead to unrest and reduced productivity for the industrial region, particularly the hypermatter foundry - in terms of protests, worker-strikes." She cleared her throat softly. "That's my opinion and observations, ma'am."

She gave a pointed look to the Inquisitor and then to Dove and said, “I thank you for your candid honesty. I am not sure how I feel about this one but she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. That’s a trait that is not well received in the Empire, best learn to curb that or someone else will do it for you.”

“As you can see no one has checked me yet,” she mused lightly.

“I am leaving, give my regards to the Hutts,” she offered and then gestured for her retinue to follow.

"I find I would do a poor job of being an intel-agent if I did not give the facts as I see them, ma'am," she replied with a confident smirk. "But duly noted."

She could almost like this admiral-lady. For an Imp, Yulani seemed fairly intelligent and... well, almost sensible?

"I think I like her," Dove said, looking appriciation at the departing Admiral. "Clever. Insightful. Looks very good in a uniform." The last being the most important trait of course.

For her, she had little interest in speaking with Hutts... and she had seen some faces about that looked familiar. And Dove knew it was in their best interest as well as her own that she did not draw attention to them or openly recognize them.

"It would be a shame to not put my new swimwear to use." She cast a look in the direction of one of the inviting pools. "Wouldn't you agree?"

"And I hope you'll enjoy yourself too," she smirked as she pulled at the knot that kept the wrap-around dress together around her figure, making it come undone and open. "Admire the view."

Dove slipped out of the dress and casually tossed it in his direction with a playful wink, not caring if he picked it up or not. Then she sashayed towards the pool, making sure to not rush in her stride to give enough opportunity for whatevver ogling the Inquisitor or anyone else felt like doing.
